Re: Dream Draft Pick of the 2010 Draft
As I further review some prospects this year, I'm coming around on going OT first round. I think there's a lot of depth, a lot of depth, at QB this year but maybe not that one true stud. Seems to be the reverse almost for the OT position
Im going to admit that it was you who pointed me in his direction. But after seeing him in person id have to say that he didn't let me down and I can see why you are so enamored.
Also I see Kevin Barnes featured under your name, what's up with that guy?
The knock on Skelton has been that sometimes he checks down too much and doesn't take chances. Did you see that? |
Re: Dream Draft Pick of the 2010 Draft
spiller cant carry the load in the nfl. he will be a bust if a team looks to him as a number one back. hes never even had a 1,000 yard season in college. excellent all around player but i think he will be more of a returner/3rd down back in the pros.
Yeah he needs a two backs system he will be next years Felix Jones. |
Re: Dream Draft Pick of the 2010 Draft
you guys would do very well getting a player that doesnt need a great offensive line.....either a QB that can scramble or a scat back that can turn nothing into something
traditional backs just wont work on a team that cant consistantly do anything.....you need a guy that can carry the team from the 25 to the endzone in one play noel devine would be a great pickup for you |

I'd say he takes more chances then JC if thats what your asking. He threw a couple screens but the majority of the shorter throws were wr slants. His deep ball was accurate on two throws of 35 plus(something that i haven't seen from JC in 3 years). But id say he's more JC then Colt Brennan when it comes to taking chances. |

I've seen just some grainy film of him and heard scouts talk about him. What I've seen and heard I love. The knocks have been doesn't take enough chances, and has improved much over the past several years. Still, he and Dominic Randolph are both very good |

............kicker..........
|
Re: Dream Draft Pick of the 2010 Draft
I wonder if we can put a draft package together and send Vinny to another team?!hehe
|
Re: Dream Draft Pick of the 2010 Draft
now we can add kicker to the list of things we need
|

dream draft pick...SUH. must have him.

Or Chris Johnson :D Of course lets not forget that the Titans have a very good O-Line that was build with a combination of the right draft picks and free agents. Come to think of it, what type of back is Spiller. Is he balanced, speed, or power? |

spiller is purely speed. i see him as a reggie bush type pro. good returner, screener, but not much else. cant get the tough yards consistently. |

I think he will be more sucessful than Bush i think CJ can run between the tackles like Johnson from the Titans. |
Re: Dream Draft Pick of the 2010 Draft
well jimmy clausen is officially going pro. he would really be a perfect fit here i think, though i think he will be the #1 pick and i doubt we get that.

Re: Dream Draft Pick of the 2010 Draft
What about if we franchised Campbell and drafted an olineman in the first and then later in the first drafted Tim Tebow. When the 2010 season is underway we do like the Eagles with Vick and bring Tebow in sparingly, until he learns the system.

agree...he is a once in a lifetime talent. Supposedly runs a 4.6 40 at 310lbs. Freak. |
Re: Dream Draft Pick of the 2010 Draft
I don't see any of these high profile college guys being good NFL QBs....especially not Teabow.
JC has more upside than those donks...and has already proven he can play respectably at the NFL level. Drafting a QB in the first round would be a huge mistake. |

I didn't say they needed to get rid of Campbell, but they should get a QB and hopefully pull a San Diego sort of deal where they have two good QB's for a year. Something for me about Tebow says that although he is not the most orthidox of QB's his intangibles will make him a asset to his NFL team. |

None of the top QBs in the draft this year are especially impressive.
dream draft pick...SUH. must have him.
If he's still available when we pick, I don't see how we could pass on him. Thus far, he looks to be the best player available in the entire draft. I don't know too much about the OL prospects entering the draft, but i'd be hardpressed to select anyone over Suh. The very thought of seeing him line up next to Haynesworth (with some combination of Orakpo, Jarmon, Carter, and Jackson on the outside) gives me goosebumps. Campbell can start for us another year. We can use our high 2nd round pick on a starting OT. Levi Jones has been playing well, Heyer is serviceable on the right side and my gut tells me Samuels returns. Mike Williams is doing nicely at guard. Dock and Rabach are solid, if not spectacular. Right now, my dream draft for the first 5 rounds would be: 1. Suh 2. Best OT available. 3. (Traded pick for Jarmon) 4. RB 5. Best C/G available |
Re: Dream Draft Pick of the 2010 Draft
SEC RB 1st round and second round OT. I like our guards situation. You have to let an O-line play together for a few weeks before they look like they can block. This is not a plug n play microsoft league. 4th round CB or LB. Competition is good. 7th round pick kicker. 5th and 6th round best player available.

Re: Dream Draft Pick of the 2010 Draft
Well dream pick would have to be eric berry or taylor mays.
Or eric berry cause he seems to be a ball hawk, whereas taylor mays has the raw potential in a sean taylor body RIP. |

Character seems to be a problem with Clausen. At the very least he's guilty of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. I know he wasn't exactly in the wrong for that bar incident but how do you think Washington's going to be? Plus after the Brady Quinn fiasco I'm skeptical about getting a QB from Notre Dame that played under Weis. |

I agree...also, it tells me a lot that he got punched in the grill and didn't even do anything about it (according to the reports). If he is going to go into his shell when he gets punched by some frat boy, what is he going to do when a DL blindsides him? Im only half kidding. Totally skeptical of all college QBs drafted in the early rounds. Too much risk when its been proven you can develop good QBs drafted in later rounds. I like BHA's draft board. We have to take Suh if he is available. Potential hall of famer. |

I think that's a reach to say that character is a problem after getting sucker punched once. Why does everyone suddenly want Suh? |

Why does everyone suddenly want Suh?
some probably because they just saw him dominate texas, others because he is the best player in the draft. for me, its because imo he is the best player in the draft, and because a DT pairing of suh and haynesworth would be too good to pass up. |
Re: Dream Draft Pick of the 2010 Draft

Why does everyone suddenly want Suh?
cause for a lot of people it is their first time hearing about him, i think it was only the second, maybe the thrid nationally televised nebraska game all year. |
suddenly? He has been rated #1 on a lot of mocks for a while.
Game changer.
Suddenly as in on this board. Haven't heard many people talk about him until recently. It's been we need OL....or we need a QB...or we need a RB...but the stupid front office never drafts for need, those morons always go "best player available"....and here we are talking about going after the best player available |
Re: Dream Draft Pick of the 2010 Draft
that would be beyond " stupid" if the skins would draft another d- lineman
|
Re: Dream Draft Pick of the 2010 Draft
only way we take him is if he falls to 8 or beyond, doubt he will be there we go oline, he is top three, might fall to 5
|
1. Suh 2. Best OT available. 3. (Traded pick for Jarmon) 4. RB 5. Best C/G available
Definitely agree that we shouldn't pick up a QB and I highly doubt Tebow will be even average in this league. Don't agree with the Suh pick though, I say we trade it away and get at least 2-3 Offensive linemen...I don't know about you but I don't think Samuels has what it takes anymore |
Re: Dream Draft Pick of the 2010 Draft
if okung and bulega are gone by our pick we should try and trade down, gonna be hard to get rid of a top ten pick this year though
ss aren't you an iowa guy bulega is most likely the guy to be there i think okung is top five, what do you think of him? i haven't seen much of iowa this year |
Re: Dream Draft Pick of the 2010 Draft
I don't see Bulaga as a top 10 pick. Still kind of raw, probably better suited for RT than LT in the NFL. Better run blocker than pass blocker. Relies on strength much more than any sort of skills or technique. There's also Kyle Calloway out of Iowa who might be more polished but also may be about as good as he's going to get. He also has a drunk driving mark against him. Probably 2nd-4th rounder. He's a RT too.

Yeah I'm scratching my head over this "logic" as well. DT has got to be pretty low on our list of needs, I sure as hell hope we don't go that way with our first pick. |
Re: Dream Draft Pick of the 2010 Draft
Looking at video's of Suh and Eric Berry. I have to say the thought of a player like Suh beside Haynesworth and infront of Orakpo isn't fair. Or Berry at FS moving Landry to SS, that would put fear into NFL teams hearts like ST and LL was supposed too.
