I agree. As nothing more than the head coach, he's an upgrade from the current situation. But if Little Danny wants to get him right now, he's gonna have to throw a mountain of titles and money at him. Which he will. And we won't be any better for it. And the circus will continue to sputter along.

Big money and big names. Win or lose, it's how Danny rolls. God forbid he ever follow the blueprint for success that the bell cow organizations have set.

I agree with these two thoughts. Shanahan did put a good O together, but he also let his D go forever. I don't know what the next tandem will be, but I will be happier if Shanahan isn't included

Yeah...make all the excuses you want. There are first year coaches out there having success with new talent.

Every excuse in the book has been used here as if it should make some difference. Point is...there are football people on new teams in the NFL making decisions that are making their team successful. The common denominator is that they are doing things their way, even if they're new to the position.

Do you suppose Snyder would be laissez-faire if our new head coach was having a stalemate conflict with our star WR?

You can even bring Lombardi from the dead, as long as Danny has VC as our GM this team will flop around like a wounded flounder. If there was a coach I bring in, it would be either Cam Cameron or Jim Harbaugh.

By the way, what secret formula does Josh McDaniel have that Shanahan didn't? McDaniel is 5-0 with Kyle Orton, not Cutler. Why couldn't Shanahan do that if he's such a genius?

Because he's not. But Snyder probably thinks he can buy the trophies these coaches won in the past. The problem is the trophies don't belong to the coaches, they belong to the ORGANIZATIONS. It started at the top.

I agree. I have to give McDaniels credit, he brought in a great D Co and the offense is doing what it takes to win as they learn the new scheme. I thought he was crazy to get rid of Cutler but now it seems he knew what he was doing. He got some good players for the picks they got for Jay -still more to come- and Orton is playing very well.

Lol. Sad thing is, it goes way beyond the OLine too. This team's talent level is way overestimated by Redskins fans. Notice how EVERY year we praise our team on paper and every year we spend time here bitching about how bad we are. How can you have ten years of great talent but little results? Answer --- you cant. Which is why I would prefer M.Schottenheimer as GM, move Cerrato to a more executive/player contract roll, bring in B.Schottenheimer as HC from the Jets, and allow him to assemble his own Asst. Coach's, pray for an uncapped yr so we can dump all the big contracts and try to replace some of the older guys especially O-line, pick up a couple more younger guys for the D-line. Pick up a couple more LB's. Dump Betts, Cartwright, and evaluate Portis as keeping or trade bait or simply cut(with no CAP).

Give total football control to M.Schottenheimer, DS just simply write the checks and enjoy the game.

Like I posted in another thread, we have too many 1st round picks with huge egos who think they are better than they really are. We lack players like in Gibbs I (3rd rounders, mid to low round and FA signees) who are hungry and play with a sense of urgency to make and stay with the team. Too many over paid Prima Donnas.

I can't agree more.

During the game today I saw Samuels go down and I knew the atrocity that would transpire after. I remember saying to myself that was a key person we couldn't afford to lose.

Then Rocky McIntosh went down in the 2nd half and I said the very same thing. We have NO ONE to back up any of these guys.

How can Chris Samuels, Rocky McIntosh, London Fletcher, Albert Haynesworth, Santana Moss, Clinton Portis ALL BE SO VITAL to our team that we can't afford to lose any of them.


You know how fragile your team has to be to have that many players that can't be lost for the year.

I don't know why I stopped with just the RB's. LOL. JC and Collins can go. See about bringing back Daniels off of the Saints practice squad, keep the new QB we picked up from the Giants cut and keep Colt(maybe). Cut Moss, ARE, and keep the young talent and look to bring in a few more pieces.

I personally wouldn't coach for a team where the owner pick the assistants before the HC. I would want coach for a team that wants to win & show that from organizational standpoin. The NFL is a copycat league why aren't we copying from the successful teams. Get a stellar o-line & d-line like Eli, Peyton & Brady has win those battles first. Get a some playmakers but with your stellar line you exactly need a AP at RB & you could afford to trade a Clinton Portis and not skip a beat. Things like this for starters
