i know i have said this before but i have such a hatred towards boise state, i don't think they should be allowed to compete in the bcs until they change their pos blue smurf f-ed field, you can't even watch a game on that field it gives me a huge headache, until they change their field i will root for their demise, even though they run a good program. seriously fuck that field!!!!
I like the field.

Dan LeFevour of Central Michigan was impressive tonight. Good arm, accurate, mobile and very poised. I like him.

Troy. He took his team down the field in the last couple of minutes to take the lead and threw for a 2 point conversion to go up by 3. Troy cameback and kicked a FG. It just went into OT. Tied 34-34 right now.

LeFevour just ran for a 13 yd. TD. His 15th of the year. 41-34

I don't really like LeFlevor, is more of a runner than passer. Bradford is the way to go.

Re: Bowl Games: What prospects have caught your eye?

Damn, Troy just scored. 41-41. Hell of a game. Too bad LeFevour can't play defense too.

LeFevour has set all kinds of passing records and Kiper has him as the 4th rated QB among seniors. Do you even know anything about him or are you just going by what I said about the 15 rushing TD's? He's thrown for well over 300 yards tonight.

yeah lefevour is a very impressive player. good leader, great runner and accurate passer. his supporting cast didnt help him at all in the first half, a lot of crucial drops. hed be worth a look later on

Central Michigan just blocked a FG in the 2nd OT. What a game!

Their talking about how he makes plays after the play has broken down and how he makes plays on the move. Very poised.

Re: Bowl Games: What prospects have caught your eye?

CM just kicked a FG. 44-41. Game over. LeFevour finished with 395 yds. passing. 150 total TD's for his career.

Great game, I wouldn't mind looking at LeFevour in a later round. The kid has heart, and looks to be a player. He would be a project, but I could see him competing in a few years.

I'm thinking if we wait until the mid to later rounds to pick a QB, this could be the one to pick.

id be surprised to see him slip past round 4.

I'd take him in rd 4. That way we can use our first 2 for o-linemen. This guy is accurate and doesn't seem to get rattled. I like that he still makes plays even after the play has been busted. I think he has a future in the NFL.

he definitely does. kiper has him at 4th best senior qb. id take him in the 4th as well, if we must get a qb, but im just not sure he will still be there. all depends on the combine.

Yeah. A lot of things can change between now and then.

A lot of NFL teams need QBs. Lefevour most likely will be around 2-3 candidate. We can land Sheehan, Stull, or Pike in round 2-3 also maybe. Kafka for sure.

Bradford is a wasted pick. Some DE or LB is going to sack his ass and destroy his shoulder again.

stull could barely play at pitt, let alone the nfl, imo. i havent seen sheehan. i really think pike is the definition of a system qb, i see him being a big flop in the nfl. kafka, thats a possibility. he had to do everything for himself in the northwestern offense, he can run as well. that being said, none would be worth our 2nd round pick, and we dont have a 3rd.

Re: Bowl Games: What prospects have caught your eye?

watching the mich st and texas tech game, two things stood out. The QB from Michigan st looked pretty solid, and I believe he is only a sophmore. strong arm, made all the throws look easy and pretty accurate. secondly, the offensive lineman from texas tech. the tackles both looked good and the left guard looks like a beast. Not sure where the guard would go in the draft, but he looks solid.

Re: Bowl Games: What prospects have caught your eye?

I know he was just discussed, btu I am also suggesting this guy as our QB draft pick - Dan LeFevour from the Central Michigan Chippewas.

He looks like the real deal, one of the best QBs in college this year.

Replace Todd Collins!

Check out these stats, plus, he looked good playing too. Sure, unknown guy from an unknown school, but I was impressed. 102 TD/36 INT as a 4-year starter, plus 47 rushing TDs!

As a mobile QB, he'll fit perfectly (as Campbell will I believe) in Shanahan's system where he rolls out QBs a LOT.

Re: Bowl Games: What prospects have caught your eye?

Glad that LeFevour is being mentioned here, I thought the same thing last night; this guy is going to be a good pro. I wonder what his issues are; height? arm strength? doesn't throw some routes well?

He threw several passes on the run accurately & threw some as he was getting hit. Looked like he made about every type of throw well except one that was across the field & short. He also looked like he was in total command of his team, very assertive on the field.

I would love to see this kid taken in the 4th or if we trade up to the 3rd.

Big C 01-07-2010 12:47 PM

Re: Bowl Games: What prospects have caught your eye?

his main issue would be arm strength. he is very accurate, but scouts question his arm strength. also, he played against lower tier opposition, but i personally dont think that is an issue. he played with a questionable supporting cast and really did it all on his own sometimes.

During the game they were talking about how some think he is the best ever from the MAC. That would put him ahead of Big Ben, Pennington & Leftwich.

He might rise up the board during the combine/off season like Roethlisberger did.

This would seem to be perfectly intuitive, but Kevin Kolb, who played four years (as many starts as LeFevour) in C-USA is basically the exact same player against BCS conference competition as he was against C-USA competition.

So, as much as I like LeFevour and think he's a second round value in this upcoming draft, I think his relative lack of success against teams who have a clear talent advantage over CMU is a limiting factor on how great he can be in the NFL. If he comes to the Redskins, he'll be on a team where most defenses he plays will have more talent than his offense, and would have a much different prospectus than if he landed with Pittsburgh or New England.

I've been waiting for your take on him. Do you think this is a guy who could be developed while sitting for a year or 2 and then become a top tier QB?
