Oh yes notice i said dream not reality.

Re: Dream Draft
I was just listing to Washington Post live and they were saying that we had to draft a LT. I just want it said, we had one of the best LT's every play and we still sucked. If Samuels had ever had a good QB, he would be headed for Canton Ohio. Unfortunately, he played ten seasons with fair to bad QB's. We need to get a QB and build from there.

That draft is very likely actually, and this thread title is Dream draft, meaning draft you wish would happen. |
Re: Dream Draft
Trade away Rogers to the Raiders and their horrid secondary for the 39th pick.
Trade down with the Bills for the 9th and 41st pick for our 1st rounder and 5th rounder. So we now have this. #9 - Bulaga, OT #37- Pouncey, OG #39- Washington, OLB #41- Best, RB #101- Pike Everyone other than Best and Pike start, but maybe Best could challenge Portis for some SERIOUS playing time.............. Heres to hoping. |
Re: Dream Draft
Oh, and I am digging the people liking Newhouse. Guy will be a starter somewhere in the League his rookie year, bet on it.

me too  |
Re: Dream Draft
Dream draft for me is getting Okung, Campbell, the best guard/tackle available, a LB, then a QB. I would then sign some undrafted guys including another QB, just to make the QB competiton hotter and maybe see Brennan cut.
|
Re: Dream Draft
1st QB Sam Bradford
2nd T Charles Brown or Rodger Saffold 4th RB Ben Tate 5th T Ed Wang 7th LB Reggie Carter |
Re: Dream Draft
Nah, to me a Vinny/Snyder move would be trading the #4 for Brandon Marshall. LOL.
That really would be the embodiment of every mistake the Redskins used to make. Trade the house for a guy who 1) isn't really all that good, and 2) would take the place in the starting lineup of someone who the team invested a lot in just two years ago.

Re: Dream Draft
I don't want to get everyone too excited, but sources say the Redskins are interested in scheduling a private workout with....John Skelton!
Skelton had a decent pro day today. Still has a killer arm, and his accuracy has improved a bit. I think he's a fascinating prospect but don't think he's the right fit for the Skins quite honestly. |

Conversely, I was shocked on Jevan Sneeds accuracy, having watched a lot of his games and thought him an erratic passer at Ole Miss. |

Yeah sometimes you wonder if there were other issues.. or if the combine/pro days are like comparing hits at the driving range and those on the course |
Re: Dream Draft
Skeletor or not, we sure do seem to be sniffing around QB's.
I agree Lotus, I do think we will bring in someone from somewhere, beg, borrow, or steal, with the intentions of replacing JC. I don't think we will find JC's replacement this year though, unless a Quinn, McCoy, Brennan, Lefevour, Skelton comes out of left field and plays his ass off. (Doubtful to happen/ unseat JC) Or, Bradford falls to us, more likely scenario to find our QB of the future, but looks like he won't be there at #4. Oh, and I didn't mention Clausen because I don't view him worth a #4 pick and don't see him there at our next pick. |

Great analogy, I wondered that myself. The "in a bubble vs. under fire" line of thought. |

Yeah I meant Skelton's accuracy improved today on his pro day vs. his performance at the combine |

nice i also like the skins meeting with skelton i would love for them to try on a late rounder again this year while we are in build mode |
Re: Dream Draft
whew, I would love if we got Best. He is such an athlete, and he gives his all on every play. What is his personality like, anyone know? Is he a ghetto idiotic dirtbag, or is he a nice, humble person? You know, a U of miami type, or a stanford type, lol.......
I am sure someone will give an example of the exact opposite in terms of attitude......... oh well......heheheheh |
Re: Dream Draft
I too hope that we find a way to come home with Best in our shopping bag. I think he would be like a young Clinton Portis in a Shanahanian offense.

That's kind of what I thought too. Where do you think we could draft him though? What I mean is, I think we have other needs with our first 2 picks. Do you think he would fall to us in the 4th? I think there will be some quality backs that WILL be there for our forth rounder for sure. Possibly Best, Hardesty, Tate, Gerhart, And McCluster.. Edit: I'd be happy with any of these I think, maybe some in a later round if BPA of need is a better choice in the 4th. |

My non-expert take on things is that Best might go in the high-second round. Perhaps we can find another second round pick in a trade, enabling us to take Best. I would be all about Hardesty or Gerhart in the fourth if they fell that far. I've tried to train realistic 4th round hopes on Tate. my :twocents: |

my :twocents:
Gotcha Lotus, so assuming Spiller is the #1 Rb off the board, where do you see Best as far as RB talent in the draft. Just wondering one non-expert to another. I mean 3rd, 4th "best" etc. |

I think Jahvid is 2nd "best" running back behind Spiller, my friend. I think injury concerns drop him a round from Spiller. However, I actually like Best better than Spiller as a pass-catcher. Who do you like in the top two rounds, if not a running back? |

Who do you like in the top two rounds, if not a running back?
Personally, I would like to see Okung, or Bradford at the 4 pick. If we get Okung, I wouldn't mind getting Best at #36. But, there are so many veriables involved. I mean, say Okung and Bradford are gone, Then I'd say Suh first, if he's gone, then McCoy (DT) or best OT available. In that instance, if we don't get OT with our 1st pick, don't we kind of have to take best OL available at 36? |

Me likey a lot. Foundation for years to come on OL. Maybe pickup one of those RBs we discussed or a LB according to BPA/need. Nice.. |

There are no character concerns at all with him. I think he's probably going to be a late first round pick, but if he falls to the 2nd I could see the Redskins taking him. But I'm not expecting it. Imagine, Kevin Barnes and Jahvid Best on the same team |

Been told we may have some interest in Joe McKnight as well
