Re: RUMOR: Trade talks between Browns (Brady Quinn) and Broncos (Brandon Marshall)
I am tired of Me guys like Marshall...I don't want any more of them on my team.

Re: RUMOR: Trade talks between Browns (Brady Quinn) and Broncos (Brandon Marshall)
^ Well said. Let's obtain some "Us" guys.

Re: RUMOR: Trade talks between Browns (Brady Quinn) and Broncos (Brandon Marshall)
I don't care if they are us,me,you, them, they guys, I just want them to be win guys.

you need a collection of "us" guys to win...we have a shitton of "mes" and not enough "we" now and you see how well (/sarcasm) we are doing now |
Re: RUMOR: Trade talks between Browns (Brady Quinn) and Broncos (Brandon Marshall)
Well said. Why on earth would we ship away multiple picks for a malcontent WR when we have such pressing needs at other positions? I think Devin Thomas is well on his way to being the playmaker we hoped he'd be when he was drafted.
The definition of insanity is repeating the same behavior and expecting different results. Giving up multiple draft picks for this guy would be exactly that.
Agreed. We have a somewhat promising looking group, depending on a couple of things. I have pretty good faith that Thomas and Kelly will really show up this year, Shanahan will work things out to help them. |
Re: RUMOR: Trade talks between Browns (Brady Quinn) and Broncos (Brandon Marshall)
they have keenan mccardell as their receivers coach now if that means anything, dudes been around long enough you think he would know his shit...we will see
If we got Marshall I'm just wondering how long it would take before you would call him a bitch, say you're sick of his act, his complaining, etc.
lol. i'll put up w/ his act as long as he's producing on the field. we've got a few guys who act like bitches and play like bitches. i call it like i see it. when i guy tackles like a girl and then when he makes a routine play gets up and salutes the crowd what do you call it?? gary clark was a bit of a cry baby but he's one of my all time favorite redskins. he showed up every single sun. sometimes when he was hurt and just had total disregard for his body and balled his ass off. he actually HATED to lose. i'll take 53 gary clark's over guys like laundry, hall and albert haynesworth any day of the week. |
Re: RUMOR: Trade talks between Browns (Brady Quinn) and Broncos (Brandon Marshall)
So, would you say that it's the football guy who wanted to cut him (Shanahan) who doesn't know what he is at this point, or the current coach who wants to trade him rather than work with him (McDaniels)? Or are they not "football people" if they disagree with you?
Also, do not bother to tell me that you don't judge guys on metrics, while spitting two or three different metrics back at me as to why your point should be considered. You absolutely do use stats to back your points, but high receptions don't tell you anything about the effectiveness of a given player. In a vacuum, high reception players are better than low reception players, but Marshall isn't being compared to Early Doucet and Sam Hurd here. I don't think that Marshall's 100 catch seasons should be ignored, but if most of his catches don't produce first downs, he's not an elite player. Period. If the Broncos can get a bunch of draft picks and a quarterback or a defensive player for Marshall, more power to them. He'll probably be the No. 1 wherever he goes next , and maybe at some point in his career, he'll play with a defense that will get him into the postseason. He'll always make those highlight reel catches because he's highly skilled at them, but Marshall shouldn't be mentioned with the best in the game. If he is, then his reception total is being overvalued, which, believe it or not, is a stat.
Do you have any proof that Shanahan wanted to cut him? All I'm saying is Marshall does things that 90% of the NFL wr's can't do. Calling him "above average" is just ridiculous. I've seen the guy play and just by watching him he's a stud. Runs like a RB after the catch, has good hands and he has the ability to take over games, he's physical...he's everything our offense needs. Your argument comparing Marshall to Edwards is just silly. We'll just agree to disagree. |
Re: RUMOR: Trade talks between Browns (Brady Quinn) and Broncos (Brandon Marshall)
To clarify: if the Redskins acquired Marshall, he'd be our No. 1. If the Cowboys or Giants got him, he'd be their No. 2. If the Packers or Patriots or Cardinals got him, he'd be their No. 3.
Obviously, none of those teams at the end would be interested in trading for him, because they don't need a third WR, but I don't know if Marshall would be a No. 1 on more than half the teams in this league. I suspect (but have not checked) that he wouldn't be.
I wonder sometimes do you ever actually watch the games. I mean who on the Giants or Cowboys is better than Marshall? What wr on thoses team has the overall production of Marshall? I mean some of your comments are simply insane. |
Re: RUMOR: Trade talks between Browns (Brady Quinn) and Broncos (Brandon Marshall)
Yeah I mean Steve Smith (NY) is very solid, but better than Marshall? I'm not buying that at all.
:laughing2 No s**t. He didn't even want to play through an injury when the playoffs were on the line. Of course I guess that's not as bad as going to a basketball game on a bad ankle. :laughing-
If I remember correctly he was hurt to the point where he didn't want to hurt the team. Marshall lines up and plays just about every week and rarely gets hurt At least he doesn't flop around on the field week after week like a fish out of water cause he's tired and out of shape. |

No one has "proof" because it did not happen. But conflicts between Shanny and Marshall were widely reported over the course of months. |

He hurt his hamstring. IMO he should've done everything he could've to be out there. But you've also got to realize that Denver is low balling the guy and paying him peanuts. Imagine going to your job everyday and you're the best guy on your job yet most of the other employees there are making more than you. It would piss you off too. Right? Now some of it he's bought on himself but IMO he deserves a new deal. |

oh please...i'd rather have a bitch that catches 100 + passes and 10 td's than a bunch of randle el' nice guys that can't get open. lol. |

That has actually happened. I gave my 2 week notice and continued to do my job to the best of my ability and even offered my services part-time until I got on my feet with my own business. If I sign a contract, I plan on fulfilling it to the best of my ability until the contract is up. I wouldn't make an ass out of myself and disrupt practice like a child. BM has also been suspended by the league which has nothing to do with his contract. It's hard to be a baller and contribute to your team when you're not allowed to play because of illegal activity off the field. I don't even like Portis's diva BS, I sure don't want Marshall's. |

Just saying it's odd that you support Marshall when you've been super critical of a bunch of other guys in the past. You have to admit he's one of the bigger drama queens in the league. |

i support his ability on the field. what i don't like is the way the guy acts. he's got a lot fo growing up to do but i think he is worth the risk. |
