Re: New possible trade/draft scenarios
We should be better on O this year , god knows we should be able to run the ball , even without Barry .
|
Re: New possible trade/draft scenarios
If we can stay away from the injury bug, I don't see how we don't light it up. We should be balanced, which will be a first for DMac5, also lends itself with the aging RB's we have. Plus, we have weapons, DT, Moss, Kelly, CC47, and Fred should give DMac5 plenty of targets, and Shanny will make the most of them...if the OL can keep him upright.

I think trading cooley really would help. As much as i liked him, what we could get as a result could definately out do what he brings to the table. |
Re: New possible trade/draft scenarios
If we could get a couple of picks or maybe a player and a pick, like a veteran lineman, and a mid-rounder...then I agree. But, he is still young (27), and had been steady with his production, even with QB issues and different coaches with different philosophies. I mean 70 catches for about 700 yards and maybe 5-6 TD's a year is pretty good, all with OC who had know idea how to get the offense going (IMO). So, what would it take, a 3rd rounder? Thats what he was, soooooo, what do we gain? Unless its for more than one player (player and pick, or 2 picks..etc) I don't see the benefit.

Re: New possible trade/draft scenarios
...how about CC47 to Ravens for LT they have been shopping, and maybe a 5th rounder?
|
Re: New possible trade/draft scenarios
We are not getting a 2nd rounder for JC, seriously, we just sent one for McNabb, do you think they have the same value? Maybe a low 3 or high 4th rounder. AH isn't gonna get us a 1, maybe a high 2 or low 2, his number will be to high if/when the cap comes back, and nobody will trade for him to cut him if they can't get under a new cap. And CC47 needs to stay put and give D-Mac the weapons with Moss, DT, Kelly, Davis, and now Parker in the passing game he hasn't had.
I totall agree that Jason is not worth a 2nd round pick but NEVER...EVER say that we definately won't get a 2nd round pick for him. There is a sucker born every minute and who knows...Al Davis is still alive. Plus, crazzzzzy things happen in August. Maybe a playoff contender has a starter go down and Campbell is hanging around, looking good in preseason and B-A-M. There ya go, Jason for a 2nd round pick next year.....could happen...IF the Skins want to play the waiting game. |

I would consider it for sure. Baltimore also needs a CB so we give them rogers and cooley for Gaither and Baltimore's second? |

Agreed, I also wouldn't be opposed to keeping him because of DMac5's history, but I think JC deserves a fresh start, I know its a business...but... |

Nice, that would work, then who do we take at 4? Or, do we trade down? |

If we pull that we have three options: -Okung, and start Gaither at RT. -Bradford if he's around. -Suh and trade AH92 for some picks to the raiders. |
Re: New possible trade/draft scenarios
Jammal Brown or Bushrod from the Saints are still in play for probably Rogers or Landry\
I know they're shopping Rocky, just don't where |
Re: New possible trade/draft scenarios
We will be making trades no player is off limits. We will not be giving up or tradeing down out of #4 until draft day.

I know they're shopping Rocky, just don't where
Is this just your theory or something that you know from a source? I would hate to see Landry go, there's just something about him and his connections to Sean Taylor that helps with that whole situation. Not to mention he's full of potential at SS. |
Re: New possible trade/draft scenarios
I would rather see Landry traded than Rocky. Rocky has been solid in his play. Landry seems to not be able to keep it together without blowing double moves for big plays constantly. Even when he is in the box, where he is more comfortable, he still has some problems.

When SS talks , we listen . Sponsored by the EF Hutton group . |
Re: New possible trade/draft scenarios
Let's figure out a way to get Gaither from the Ravens without a 2nd round pick. And don't anyone say give our #4. please....
|
Re: New possible trade/draft scenarios
Marcus McNeil is rumored to be a Colts target. Would love him here, but not sure he fits or there's interest

Trade Rogers and Cooley for Gaither and 2nd round pick. |
Re: New possible trade/draft scenarios
Smoot you know if the noon presser is going to be on ESPN or ESPNews? I won't be in front of a TV and want to record it.

I still like my idea of the #4 pick for Gaither and the Ravens 1st rounder |

Re: New possible trade/draft scenarios
What pick does Baltimore have in the 1st round?
|
Re: New possible trade/draft scenarios
I also think that we will make some more trades to recoup draft picks. Wouldn't be surprised if Moss or Cooley or Landry is traded.
|
Re: New possible trade/draft scenarios
Jammal Brown or Bushrod from the Saints are still in play for probably Rogers or Landry\
I know they're shopping Rocky, just don't where
Wow, that would be great for the both of us. Jammal is like 28 27 years old and a Pro bowler who holds well against DeMarcus Ware. He is a proven starting LT. Then you have Bushrod the local kid, whose 24 or 25 years old, Protected drew Brees blindside the whole year they went to the super bowl, but was one of the weak spots on their OL. (see Dallas game) And was just beaten up by DeMarcus Ware, who, if he is dealt here, would have big days on us with Ware rushing from his side. He would need a TE or RB or both to help him on passing downs. Now if you got Bushrod and moved him to RT and put Okung at LT our OL goes from one of the leagues worst to in the above average level. And if we get Brown and Okung its even better. |

He'd be perfect for our division going against Ware, Cole, Spencer, and Tuck 2 times a piece a season. He's also 27 years old. |

Whats the cost though I mean he's going to want LT money and we're pretty much set to draft a LT when the draft rolls around. , and personally I'd rather have the 24 year old Gaither who is essentially an experienced rookie. |
Re: New possible trade/draft scenarios
^Buc's tendered him for a first and a third

I agree I would rather have Gaither. WaldSkins had an idea I kind of liked. Our #4 pick for Gaither and their first round pick. However, I'm not so sure I like dropping down to 25th in the first round. Who you think would be left for linemen at #25? |

Or we get Penn, trade that #4 down to pick up more picks and get something like Selvish Capers to be your RT and Montario Hardesty in the 3rd? |

How do we get Penn? Is their a player of ours that they want? Do I need to be a shrewd negotiator and offer them Carter?
