Agreed, it obvious that Shanny and Jr want to see what Colt can do under their coaching or he would have been gone day one just like everyone else who didnt fit what they wanted to do with this team. Grossman is a Collins pt II move imo being the only reason he is here is because he has been in the system. NOONE else was beating down his door to sign him. Now that the Skins got McNabb, Rex is just as expendable as anyone else.

Did anyone ever think that part of the reason Colt seemed to decline was due to Zorns "over coaching"? Same for JC, he didnt really show much improvement imo under Zorny.
Not what i expected anyways after hearing how he was such a QB guru.

I never knew that he progressed enough to show a decline in the first place.

We are still talking about a 6th round, 3rd string quarterback with a slightly side armed release, and absolutely NO REAL GAME EXPERIENCE. And ppl want Tebow to change his delivery up. Imagine if we DO get Gaither. How many balls from Shorty brennan will be sidearmed into the back of his head?

Peoples facination with this guy really amazes the hell out of me. He sucks, and will be cut, but he might make a practice squad in Detroit or Seattle.....

Shorty? Didnt one of the shortest QB's in the league just win the SB? Wasnt Flutie a good QB despite his height? QB's around the 6 foot mark make it to the pros because they can compensate their lack of height by being able to move in the pocket and make plays. Im not saying Brennan is Brees but dont use the height as your reason why a guy cant make it when clearly others have. Doesnt Favre have a bit of a a sidearm release? And he has just about every record there is so that can be thrown out as well. Brady fell to the later rounds so obviously he had some shortcomings coming out of college. Currently he is one of the best in the league. So you dont have to be the tallest,strongest or even the most accurate to be successful.But hey, maybe youre right and Colt will be cut and never heard from again, but as of right now he is still here so Shanny must see something in him to keep him around and give him a chance to make the team.If Shanny thought he "sucked" as bad as you say he would be gone by now. Im sure there are a dozen QB's out there who could come in and compete for the backup spot of that were the case. A guy like Garcia comes to mind.

WOW, well i guess ive been shown my place with those compelling facts.
How many QB's has Chicago gone through in the past decade? Grossman was just a coach fav who nearly cost the man his job. And its not like Grossman carried the Bears to the SB. That would be the other side of the ball when that was the case. Grossman played in a SB, so i guess he is better than guys like Rodgers,Rivers etc due to that?

Thrown a few interceptions in the pre-season last year and looked worse than grossman? I'm not sure where you think that he is better? And everybody knows the Bears Defense was good...but that still doesn't make your point any less valid. The Saints had a great defense too...but that must mean Drew Brees is mediocre...right?

Brennan has been over-hyped from the start, his delivery won't work and it makes him about 4 inches shorter than his already short frame. and remember what happened when colt brennan played Georgia in the sugar bowl a few years back? the first team he'd played with a defense? Fill me in on how that worked out for him again?

Ofcourse Brees is right there with the best. Youre the one saying just because a guy started for a team who tried for yrs to replace him that he is better than another QB who is going into his 3rd yr and hasnt started a game yet. How many games did the Bears start then sit Grossman on a weekly basis while he was there? Again Lovie liked the kid and thats the only reason he stuck around. He was cut from the Bears and others for a reason.

You mean the game where UGA was able to rush 3 and still sacked him 8 times? Those guys were on him everytime as soon as he got the ball. NO QB would have faired any better vs that kind of rush. Make a list of QB's who were sacked that many times and still won the game.... I bet its a SHORT one.

Can the kid play? I think he can but with the O-line this team has had lately it wont matter who you stick back there,noone will get a chance to show what they can do with defenders draped over them. Even in the preseason last yr vs Balt their 2nd string D ate our O-line alive.

In the 2000s Collins started 3 games (when JC was hurt in 2007), he played solid....until Seattle got his number and made him look like a joke. Grossman has started 31 games. Collins' career completion % is 56%, Grossman's is 54%.
