Re: The Official 2010 NFL Draft Thread: Rounds 4-7
Is 4th rounder Perry Riley better than McIntosh?
One more consideration. You can imagine a lot of URFA OL in camp because it's known that we have a couple of spots up for grabs. |

Re: The Official 2010 NFL Draft Thread: Rounds 4-7
The difference is that Campbell has first round speed/agility/athletic ability. You can't coach that, you're born with it. Speaking of project O-linemen, one with adequate size and off the charts athletic ability (Campbell) has a far greater chance to be an impact player than a guy with just size and average athletic ability (Heyer).
Perry Riley will probably be HB Blades - decent backup but lacking as a starter. We had a chance to nail bookend OTs for the next 5+ years ... We blew this one.
Knucklehead athletes with ZOMGWTF atheleticism fail in this league. Bruce Campbell sounds like even more of a football knucklehead than Trent Williams. |

The Eagles got Kafka.

Re: The Official 2010 NFL Draft Thread: Rounds 4-7
I thought Campbell had a chance w/ us and IMO he should've been the pick, but I trust MS enough to let him take a chance on Riley, even though we probably could've gotten him in the 5th. At 163, I wouldn't mind us getting OT Tony Washington who would've been drafted if not for his legal problem or FS Robert Johnson from Utah would be a good fit.

Re: The Official 2010 NFL Draft Thread: Rounds 4-7
ALL I WANT IS CAM THOMAS!!!!!!!!! Kemo isnt completely healthy yet and he needs to be in a rotation anyway. All the other fat bodies we've added this offseason is just that, no1 who can be a solid starter/player. pickin up Thomas will have him in a rotation with Kemo at NT, keeps Haynesworth outside as much as possible to keep him happy in a rotation with Carriker!!! This is all i want for Christmas!

I want to pull my best Smootsmack impression and say I told you so:
Look out for Myron Rolle. Redskins are looking for another Center Fielder. Personally I wouldn't be surprised if they passed on a tackle and drafted either a LB, RB, or FS. I mean I know Vinny isn't here any more but I don't think they feel the solution is to simply draft a bunch of lineman.
|
Re: The Official 2010 NFL Draft Thread: Rounds 4-7
Are you implying that Williams might be a knucklehead?
When it comes to football, yes, he SOUNDS like it. I limit the scope of the label. He could be smart at other subjects, hence I don't overgeneralize. If someone displays tremendous atheleticism but his play is inconsistent at best and most certainly not dominant, then you're dealing with someone who is lacking in football instincts or is ill-equipped mentally to handle the game. |
Re: The Official 2010 NFL Draft Thread: Rounds 4-7
Rolle DOES NOT equal centerfielder....... He's an in the box safety. HE ONLY HAS 1 CAREER INTERCEPTION lol

I know we've already covered that. If you click on the quote you will see that I was already told that by another member. |
Re: The Official 2010 NFL Draft Thread: Rounds 4-7
This is why you don't trade picks away for old washed up players. I hate Vinny and Dan S for trading away picks for other team trash. Also the money thrown in to the wind on FA that are looking for that last great pay day! Its going to take 2 more drafts to get this team in to the play-offs! Allen has his work cut out for him!
|
Re: The Official 2010 NFL Draft Thread: Rounds 4-7
NO!!!!!!!!!! The Cowboys drafted the one guy that I really wanted, Akwasi Owusu-Ansah. Now I can't root for this kid.

Aren't you happy we didn't do that this year. We got a QB with at least five years left, a 25 year old former first round pick that can still play, and a young and promising player in Jarmon. |

Yeah, I really thought we were going to take him, considering Jim Haslett went to Indiana University of Pennsylvania as well. |

The question is will the rest of the team get better before McNabb is done? |
The question is will the rest of the team get better before McNabb is done?
No question. They already are light years ahead of last year. Now if they want to sustain that level of success then they're going to have to keep their draft picks in part because there probably won't be another uncapped year where you can maneuver the way we have this offseason. In other news Mike Lombardi says trade talks for JLC are heating up to Buffalo and Oakland. |

Wow, so the seahawks traded for both LenDale White and Leon Washington today. Interesting.

Carroll is certainly bringing in a lot of storied college players. I wonder if it will work, it certainly looks great on paper. |
Re: The Official 2010 NFL Draft Thread: Rounds 4-7
I knew we didn't have many picks but what happened to all of the rumors of players being traded? I guess Campbell will be a redskin next season, unless we cut him.

it's been tried before, and it usually fails. guess we'll have to wait and see, but if i were a betting man i would put a ton of coin on carroll getting a fat ass contract and heading back to college just like all the rest of em |

just because he might not be traded before the draft is over doesn't mean much imo. jc will be somewhere else next year starting or competing for a starting job. |

Teams still value camp fodder from Arkansas State over established veterans especially players they feel will be cut. |
Re: The Official 2010 NFL Draft Thread: Rounds 4-7
Campbell's going to be a Raider.
RT @JReidPost: Campbell trade would involve #Redskins receiving multiple picks for former starting quarterback. A decision expected soon. |
Re: The Official 2010 NFL Draft Thread: Rounds 4-7
NFL network is saying that we're getting close to moving Campbell to the Raiders. Not sure what the trade would bring us.

Re: The Official 2010 NFL Draft Thread: Rounds 4-7
Im not a Jason Campbell fan, but i can sympathize with him cuz we havent given him the best situation to play in and he's been thru alot. That being said, i want him to realize what his worth/value is to other teams considering we've gone thru 4 1/2 rounds and he still hasnt been traded. I want him to see this and realize he is unjust in declaring that he only wants to go places he can start when the league sees him as a backup QB.

God dammit chargers for taking cam thomas!
|
Re: The Official 2010 NFL Draft Thread: Rounds 4-7
Wish list (in no particular order)
Selvish Capers - T - WVU Cam Thomas - NT - UNC John Dwyer - RB - GT (Hey Shanahan's last great Running Back was from Georgia maybe it's time to go to the other school) |

Re: The Official 2010 NFL Draft Thread: Rounds 4-7
It will be interesting to see how much Al Davis is willing to pay for JC in terms of draft picks and players. Because if his crazy mind only deems him worthy for a low round price, then more competent personnel guys won't be willing to pay much more, and quite possibly even less than Al.
|
Re: The Official 2010 NFL Draft Thread: Rounds 4-7
You would think that the Raiders pick at 190 would be part of any package for JC.
