Well Campbell is much better than anything they have in there.

I wish him the best and I hope he succeeds.

Let's re visit this if McNabb goes down. Grossman may be Kyle's guy but JC is the better QB.

Still, JC deserved to go. You got fans wanting him out, never fully got the support of the FO and ownership. I'm glad he's gone because he gets another chance and he gets to start.

Hopefully McNabb stays health, I think Grossman is a decent back up, as long as he doesn't have to play an entire season or something like that.

Now that Campbell is gone the way is clear to start Richard Bartel.

When a team is ecstatic about getting JC it tells you how bad off they are.

I wish JC well, he's a class act and a good young man. But, I don't think JC will have much success at Oakland. Anyone who watched Campbell closely, knows his deep ball accuracy is one of the "thorns in his side" (along with other issues we've :bdh:).

If the Raider Nation thinks this guy is their savior....God help 'em.

I'm so sorry you went to the raiders maybe you will have some success more than likly you will have a new coach next year and offensive cordinater, sorry again. Good luck I always respected you.

He may not be their savior but he beats the heck out of starting JaMarcus.

Congrats to Oakland, they added another second string QB to their roster.
I feel we could have gotten more than just a 4th rounder in 2012, but I guess that shows that other teams know he's not really worth starter trade status.

Of course, Oakland's line is just as much of a sieve as ours, so something tells me that his success there is as much about Veldheer and Bruce Campbell as anything.

I think he'll benefit from having a receiver or two that knows how to run a route/will actually do it consistently.

What a colossal bust Jamarcus Russell is. Wish JC all the best.

Re: Campbell A Raider

You root for a guy like Campbell to succeed. The situation wasn't optimal here, but he did manage to improve even as our O-line was in decline. I still feel that given a strong O-line, Jason can be a top 10-12 QB. He can't be any worse than Russell, so in that regard, this is a significant upgrade for Oakland. I wish Jason all the best - he is a class act.

JC thanks for representing us with dignity, strength and courage. Where would you be Jason, Levar, and Patrick if you had been drafted by an organization...

Really? All we could get was a 4th IN TWO YEARS! seems a bit ridiculous to me. To look on the bright side at least this means that the current front office/coaching staff feel like theyl be here in 2012

Re: Campbell A Raider

I wish JC nothing but the best. He's had 9 coordinators in 10 seasons since he started college. Crazy. That guy must know more offenses than any QB in the entire NFL. And the whole time he's handled it with class and grace, and never complained. He never truly got a fair shake here. I think if Shanahan had decided to stick with him, JC would have done well here, but McNabb is an upgrade.

All the best to you, Jason Campbell. I will be cheering for you to succeed in Oakland. Good luck with that.

Re: Jason Campbell traded to Raiders

no, we got a 4th rounder in 2012, not next year. And as long as McNabb stays upright that 4th rounder next year will turn into a 3rd

JR is a huge bust for Oak but I think when you look at what the Skins gave up to draft JC and what he ended up producing, I dont think its a reach to say that JC is one of the biggest Redskin draft busts of all time.

Why , take into account the coaching changes he has endure, the fact the the personel he has had to work with ..or lack of as in the O line the last few seasons.2 seasons ago there was talk of him in the pro bowl maybe a career that didn't pan out as expected but a bust not IMO.
I know JC wanted the opportunity to start but why go to Oakland? I'd rather swallow my pride and stay here. Can't believe I'm sayin' this but we're more stable than Oakland. He could learn from a great coach, probably get to start 2-3 games and then be unrestricted in 11. I wish him well cause JC is a 100% pure class act.
Jason was never based in reality. He never took personal responsibility. You never heard him say things like "it was my fault". He always came to the after the game internviews with the same ole "well...you know..we just gotta go back and work harder". A lot of 'WE" in his interviews as opposed to "I" need to work harder. He missed a lot of open field receivers that he never saw...but obviously was pointed out to him in the film room. Campbell also missed passes downfield because he is terrible at the long ball. He was always saying "yea, I like to have that one back". But the reality is that Jason was never based in reality. He couldn't GET IT. And since he is in Oakland now, he still doesn't get it. He will be a starter in name only because after he loses this job and Oakland drafts another QB with their 1st pick next year, he will be back to singing the blues and wanting out of Oakland and still believing he is a starting NFL quarterback.
As I have stated many times...Jason is a backup QB. He just hasn't accepted this fact and neither have his legion of fans.

If you look at the numbers you will see that Campbell is a middle-of-the-road NFL QB. Not the best but not the worst - in the middle. So you can't really call him a bust. He never realized the promise that we had hoped for when we traded up for him and thus the trade up was somewhat foolhardy. But that does not make him a bust. And he certainly is not one of the greatest team draft busts.

I can't think of anything worse actually. Rex is horrid, I'm surprised he still has a job as a backup in this league. The guy hasn't even attained a QB rating over 75 during his entire career.

I don't know if there are as many haters out there vs. coaching staff/fans that just know SOUP could not take this team where we wanted to go in this system.

With Rex he knows and understands what the shannys want and can execute that system or he wouldn't be here. Lets not forget he has also taken a team to the SB as the starting QB. I'll take him any day in this system.

Furthermore, we have Bartel/Brennan and who knows who else could be coming in between now and camp to challenge for the #2 and #3 QB positions.

SOUP is a classy guy just not the guy to run the system in DC. Good luck SOUP in Traider country anytime your not playing the REDSKINS.
