Not yet. |
Re: Undrafted Free Agents Signed
i like the darryll clark signing, hopefully we can groom him to atleast be a backup in a few years. he was a pure winner at penn state, i think with time he could atleast be a decent backup.
|
Re: Undrafted Free Agents Signed
Darrly Clark is a monster QB...this may have been the pickup of the entire draft for the Skins. Dude's stats are sweet and he can run like crazy. Great pickup 4 sure. He can learn under McNabb and be a real asset in years to come---this dude can throw too... Check out the Penn Sate games this year---this dude was seriously legit...Colt was nice, but this dude has skills and speed!

Let's not forget that Sellers is getting up there in age. |
Re: Undrafted Free Agents Signed
well if its not obvious by now, let me go ahead and spell it out. The Skins have drafted 3 offensive linemen, have about 5 tight ends on the roster, and have loaded up with 3 pro bowl running backs. I think there is a possibility that Shanny is planning on running the football. Just a thought. Just a possibility.
I'm so glad that we have you here to keep us all in check. |

nobody's mentioned it? lol |
Re: Undrafted Free Agents Signed
Shanny's comments about Morris seemed to make it sound like he will have more of a role as a FB or H-back.
I think the TE's will stack up like this. Cooley and Davis as our starters. Sean Ryan will come in as blocking TE. Morris will mostly be used as a FB or H-back role. This undrafted free agent will probably be fore depth or be cut in camp. We don't have Yoder anymore. I don't think this is a bad thing. Check out Morris's highlight reel. I think he is going to be really good. Dennis Morris Highlights
i was impressed. |
Re: Undrafted Free Agents Signed
the Redskins have also invited a handful of players in for tryouts, including Murray State receiver Derrick Townsel, Stanford safety Bo McNally, Wisconsin linebacker Jaevery McFadden and Colorado State safety Klint Kubiak.

Well everybody keeps bitching about why do we need to get more TEs, well he may have been picked up to be more of a FB. But I guess ppl are just always going to complain about something. |

Re: Undrafted Free Agents Signed
On another note.... Blount was supposed to be a UFA for the 49ers even agreed to terms. The Titans called with a better offer so he told the 49ers to pack sand. I'd love to see the Skins offer more then the Titans. lol.
Edit: apparently if the UFA has not signed on the line then they can change their minds. Are there any other UFA's we are interested in? |

I too thought this was strange picking up a TE but I forgot we let Yoder go. We only have Cooley, Davis, Morris, and now Riley. That makes two pass catching TE's and hopefully two blocking TE's. Who knows maybe Riley beats out Morris. But it has been reported Riley will be utilized like a FB also. |
Re: Undrafted Free Agents Signed
No one really stands out to me as much as Chase Daniel did last year.
Darryl Clark is a mild surprise. He was on their radar but I really thought the UDFA QB they would take would be Max Hall |
Re: Undrafted Free Agents Signed
Darryl Clark signing is not what I was looking for. As a PSU fan also I saw more then enough of his attempts to play QB. I see him as camp fodder that will not make the final roster.
I wonder if there is something we just don't know about our TE situation. Why in the world are we addressing it like it's a huge need?
The one we drafted will be our FB, not a TE. Nothing to worry about. |
Re: Undrafted Free Agents Signed
The one we drafted will be our FB, not a TE.
Nothing to worry about.
Lets let this play out on the field. He could end up at TE. Cooley has never impressed me with his in-line run blocking. He is great in the open field blocking WR's and Rb's, but he is not going to blow up LB's and DE's on the line. We have really lacked a starting TE that will knock the snot out of LB/DE like a Don Warren or a Mark Bavaro. This was a need. Cooley is more of an H-back/pass catching TE. I am really looking forward to seeing this new kid 265 pound Morris in action, I am also looking forward to see if Fred Davis will continue to improve. He showed some ability as a run blocker as well as a receiver. |
Re: Undrafted Free Agents Signed
What the heck is Darryl Clark going to do? This suprises me. I don't think he has backup potential in this league...he was awful in the Senior Game.

Re: Undrafted Free Agents Signed
Denver ended up signing 19 UDFAs
DenverBroncos.com – Official Website Of The Denver Broncos IMO that is ridiculous. I understand bringing in 5-10 maybe, to provide some competition, maybe one diamond in the rough. But at some point you "overload" the process. Your coaches only get so many reps with the players, and you want them to be focused. Having almost 30 players (including 9 draftees) and only having maybe 8-10 who will actually make the final 53, again is just ridiculous. |
Re: Undrafted Free Agents Signed
I think the Skins signed Colorado State DB Klint Kubiak (Gary's son) or at least invited him to the next minicamp

i watched clark a lot and i think he's got 0 chance to be an NFL qb. he's got a big arm but he has no accuracy what so ever. |

WOW...JUST WOW! Taunting happens all the time in every sport, that does not warrant under any circumstances a punch. Whatever happened to the "sticks and stones" addage? Unreal how ANY person on this or any other planet could be OK with some moron like Blount punching another person after the game. You HAVE to keep your emotions in check, or don't play the game. ps- Blount is no longer with the 49ers, he "changed his mind" and signed with the Titans. SOOOO glad he's not with us. |

Blount was also never gonna be a first round talent imo

That is most likely the only reason they signed so many UDFAs. It is just to light a fire under the draftees' butts!!!!! Who knows they may find some diamonds in the rough in the process. The talent pool was pretty deep this year. Some of the UDFAs might actually be better than the lower round guys, but just didn't garner the press. |

I agree, not a PSU fan, but definitely a Big Ten guy(OSU fan), and Clark wasn't so hot last season. Joe Elliot from Purdue should have been given a call before Darryl. |

ps- Blount is no longer with the 49ers, he "changed his mind" and signed with the Titans. SOOOO glad he's not with us.
So now the morality has gone to the level of not allowing players who punch other players on the field to be a Redskin. Ok. So.... who was the guys that stepped on the Dallas OL a few yrs ago? I can't remember his name. Who was the player who supposedly got all caught up in the Falcons sideline? I can't remember him either. Better yet lets just not allow any transgressions from any players.... S.Taylor would be off the team for spitting. Johnson would be off for hitting his wife. Didn't we have someone get a DUI recently? Riggins wouldn't have been here cause he was a drinker. Manley wouldn't be here cause he used drugs. Anyone else? I didn't realize this team was called the Saints. I presume this is why you picked the Redskins? cause they don't pick up talented issue laden players right? Wasn't it Jesus who said something about casting stones. |

Simple fact of the matter is this. All starting QBs in the NFL with the last name beginning with the letter B have at least one Super Bowl ring. So we need to start either Brennan or Bartel and we're set! |
