Off the record, I think its a shame that a talented NFL receiver like Owens has let his personal ego get to the point where teams wont sign him because of it. If he wasn't such an ass he'd have any team in the NFL begging him to sign with them...
TO is no longer the player that you are describing here. He started slowing down a couple years ago towards the end in Dallas. His production is no longer worth the risk of what he can bring into your locker room. I am not sure he will find any team to sign him.

He's still putting up some pretty damn good numbers

Re: Joey Galloway signed

i think TO is okay for a team (other than the redskins) if he will sign for the minimum, or a very small/reasonable incentive-laden contract. incentives for performance and team success but also for behavior.

he was generally well-behaved in buffalo, as we all knew he would be on a 1-year deal, but unfortunately for him and his agent, that did not translate into an instant big-money contract. TO and Drew must realize by now that he must accept the terms i mentioned in the first paragraph. if he does that, he has the chance to possibly sign with a contender if one is willing to take him on. i would think a ring is more important than a payday, but i could be wrong. plus, his legacy/image etc would greatly improve if he won a ring (even if he joined the Colts/Pats/Saints/Vikes type team that was already good without him). and yes, improving his legacy would, in the long run, earn him a bit more money thru future endeavors.

I don't know...55 receptions for 800+ yards. That's pretty good for a guy with no baggage I guess. But for me to put up with him and his media circus I want the 1200 yards and 15 TD's that he used to produce.

Re: Joey Galloway signed

Considering the QB situation in Buffalo last year those are very good numbers. In a good offense I think he's easily a 1000 yd guy again.

He is still gaining over 15 yards per rec. Thats as good as he ever was. He's still the same TO. Just get him the ball.

If you think he's the same player that's fine...i won't fight you on that. I am not convinced he is and i don't want him on my team regardless.

It's amazing how many former 1st rounders we have on our roster right now, and only 4 were our own

Joey Galloway
Carlos Rogers
Laron Landry
Larry Johnson
Brian Orakpo
Trent Williams
Mike Williams
DeAngelo Hall
Adam Carriker
Phillip Buchanon
Santana Moss
Donovan McNabb
Albert Haynesworth
Andre Carter

That's the problem...he's the same TO. When he does not get the ball enough (in his estimation), he becomes the locker room problem. How many teams has he been....kicked off? Do we really need to be the next? Surely at 4-12 we do not need to import any new challenges?

agree.
it's not just the baggage of him crying about touches... it's (obviously) also the media circus which would be even bigger due to the McNabb-TO factor. on top of all that, he's got the dropsies....

Absolutely. :thumb: Besides TO being a major asshat I think that sums it up pretty well.

Lee Evans saw fewer balls than Owens last year which is bad for producing points.

Re: Joey Galloway signed

What a useless signing. Galloway will be 39 in November, and he has exactly 20 catches for 205 yards...........in TWO years! It would be a travesty to our youth movement if he is still here come first game.

AT 15 yards a pop all he needed was 11 more catches last year to reach 1000. I don't see why he wouldn't be good for 60+ catches on a good team.

That's putting him in the Brandon Marshall no-one-else-in-the-offense range.

Not that you couldn't throw him the ball 130-140 times in a season at age 36 to get him 60-70 catches, it's just that I would not.

I wonder how many of the misses were due to bad throws... I know he's always high in drops too.
I wonder how many of the misses were due to bad throws... Can't hurt to sign him. He's a speed daemon who you can just have run really fast stretch routes. I will bet he'll be on the roster and will be McNabb's DeSean Jackson in a few games where Moss decides he doesn't want the ball.
