Yfrog Image : yfrog.com/61alhaynes20092010j 2009 Al is on the left, 2010 Al is on the right And honestly I don't think it makes a big difference. Losing 30+ pounds probably doesn't make much of a difference when you're like 6'6 and over 300 pounds.
You're talking like 8% change.. so yeah, it makes a diff though I doubt it's 30lb from his playing weight last year |
Re: The Official 2010 Training Camp Thread
Kind of a sloppy practice overall, bad weather likely the main culprit.
Looks like the players really respect Galloway (again, just stuff I'm being told from folks down there)
Yeah! Today's practice was a little different from what you normally see on opening day. Practice was basically light (no pads) a lot of individual work and some standing around. It was not the smoothest practice we're going to see but for the most part the players looked in great shape and eager. Galloway still has the speed, it was the first time I've seen him up close and he does get the respect from the defense. Much of the highly anticipated drama was amped down, I got the feeling the guys just want to get on with football. My next effort will be geared towards a day in pads. |
After looking more closely at the two pics I think his shoulders look a little more defined and his head doesn't look as big, as well as a slight difference between the arms. Either way I don't feel like he lost enough to not play DT.
When you lose head fat, that's when you KNOW he's serious. :D |
Re: The Official 2010 Training Camp Thread
Did anyone see that Roger Goodell was a Redskins fan after the Colts moved from Baltimore? Of course he claimed that he now roots for all 32 teams but I think we all know where his true loyalty lies ;)

Yeah that's come up in a couple of interviews. |
Re: The Official 2010 Training Camp Thread
If Goodel was a real fan you think he would throw us a couple of extra draft picks. :)
Anyway good to hear Galloway still has his speed, and I gues a light practice for day one is good. So to the guys at camp today was AH there hanging around the guys? Was he participating at all? Or did he have his famous grimmace on his face the whole time? How about DM was he smiling and joking around? |
Re: The Official 2010 Training Camp Thread
Good info in reading back a couple of pages.
Smoot were you there or just getting info from sources on the team? Good stuff though. And I love the fact that Atwater and Davis were there as well. The atmosphere seems to be totaly different there this year and some of the things going on are awesome to hear. Whether we have a good or mediocre year there are some real changes going on. This will be a good team in the coming years. So glad we are away from down time and on to the real meat of this thing. HAIL TO THE REDSKINS! |
Re: The Official 2010 Training Camp Thread
Haynesworth's putting in some extra work tonight from what I hear, working out, talking with coaches, chatting with staff, watching some film.
|
Re: The Official 2010 Training Camp Thread
BTW thanks for posting the shots of AH guys. Good to see and it definately seems as though he is slimmer. I wouldn't say he is well defined or anything but he has lost some head fat as others have pointed out and his shoulders also seem well defined.
He kind of did. Why do you think we didn't have to give the Titans a pick for tampering ;) Though I will say that even if the Redskins did tamper the fact remains that the Titans were never going to pay Haynesworth. |

NBC4 talked to #Haynesworth this evening, he said: "I'm tired of this B.S., I just want to get out on field and play football." |
Re: The Official 2010 Training Camp Thread
Maybe that is why he gave Trent "Silverback" Williams so much love on draft day, do think he wanted to sing Hail to The Redskins as well...... :)

Re: The Official 2010 Training Camp Thread
they pick up pads at 8a

He isn't just some malcontent, this story will be a non issue soon and I hope that the national media starts to let the story die as things progress. From what I have read from some of you guys this all seems positive. From the stand point of his attitude to the guys and that he is starting to put in the work to make this team better and make himself better. I think I would be concerned if I heard of anything else coming out of Redskins Park. |
Re: The Official 2010 Training Camp Thread
Alright folks, let's talk some real football now. What do you guys want to see in the next couple of days from training camp?
Personally, I want to see the offense shake the rust off and start looking crisper out there. I really hope TW signs by tomorrow so he can be at camp. It seems that the change to 3-4 won't affect the defense as much as I thought it would. |
Re: The Official 2010 Training Camp Thread
I want good information on the progress of the offensive line and the transition to the 3-4 by the defense.
To explain what I mean by good information : I don't want to just hear coach speak but I want to hear what we need to work on and how they are progressing as a unit. I am just pumped up about football being back. It was a long offseason after a 4-12 season. |
Re: The Official 2010 Training Camp Thread
Update on TW from Schefter:
"Adam_Schefter Whispers: Eric Berry getting closer to a deal...Suh is not...Trent Williams deal not far away....and these deals will really pick up now." |

We appreciate your complete lack of professionalism and the fact you rather take a sh*t than pass your physical condition test today. |

So much for trying to stir this thread into other Redskins football conversation  |

This comment is really dumb. Everyone can see he is in shape if you got to take a sitdown then you have to take a sit down. Hell if there was a reporter in then restroom while he was doing his business their would be an article how AH crumbled the tiolet paper instead of foldind it. |

Chill out, AH is here now that its mandatory so lets wait and see how things go. Get over the past cause we are sure going to need Big Al to be a top 10 defense. |
Re: The Official 2010 Training Camp Thread
Well I guess we don't have to worry about us signing T.O. anymore. I just hope with all the WR we have in camp that we will have 2 1,000 yard wide outs this season. Cooley and Davis grab 50 or more balls each. Im also curious to see how our backup corners will step up to play in the nickle and dime packages. It's time for Tryon and Barnes to earn their keep this season.

We were a consistent top 10 defense without him. I would argue at this point that London is far more important to our defensive success than Albert. |

there is already an AH thread going on. |
Re: The Official 2010 Training Camp Thread
Joey Galloway lined up w/ the first team. I know it's only the first day but you've seriously got to be kidding me. Kelly and Thomas really need to get it in gear. Having a 50 year old wr that hasn't done shit the last two years, lining up with the first team is a complete joke.

I think that is calculated to motivate them. |

waaaa-So because albert has his own thread, we can't discuss him being at training camp in the training camp thread. sounds a lot like 'no soup for you'. |
Re: The Official 2010 Training Camp Thread
Hey, what's up with Will Montgomery at LT? Is he now the leading candidate to be a backup OT? Anybody got the scoop on this?
I just don't get that move. I thought he did his best work as a backup center. |
Re: The Official 2010 Training Camp Thread
woohoo, silverback is signed sealed and delivered. Now the only headaches are Haynesworth and possible injuries.
|
Re: The Official 2010 Training Camp Thread
Actually, I never heard that Carlos actually did sign his tender, only that he was going too. Does any one know if that is a done deal?
I think AH comes in, blasts his conditioning test, and we are ready to rock and roll! Let me just say that the Kool Aid is awfully good this year. |
Re: The Official 2010 Training Camp Thread
GrantPaulsen
Friday AM roster moves: OL Trent Williams signed, DL Trey Jacobs released, OL Mike Williams placed on Non-Football Illness list. #Redskins 7 minutes ago via web So I am guessing Carlos has signed his tender as well. |
Re: The Official 2010 Training Camp Thread
CR signed his tender late Wednesday night/early Thursday morning

Does that mean he's subjected to reduction because he didn't sign by the deadline? |

Pretty sure the deadline was before they took the field on Thursday, and he got that done |
Re: The Official 2010 Training Camp Thread

Shanahan will probably make one of those guys EARN their way onto the first team...same as Haynesworth. In the long run, it's better for them. |
Re: The Official 2010 Training Camp Thread
They're rotating 1st team receivers.. Kelly not in 11-on-11s but is doing positional work and drills
