I'm all for brining in TJ Houshmandzadeh...if you bring TJ in do you really need Galloway? I would rather have seen Austin stay because the kid has some talent...we can all see he can play.
Was thinking the same thing, do we need two guys on the other side of 30 something? TJ might be a good addition. |
Word is we're only keeping 4 CB's,so look for Westbrook to get the axe as well.
Giving us Hall Rogers Buchanan Barnes This makes since considering the talent we have at the Safety position...with Moore,Landry,Doughty and Horton...
No, this doesn't make sense. |
Re: 2010 Redskins Final Cutdown
I had us keeping just four CBs as recently as two weeks ago, but I thought that Buchanon would get the axe for Tryon.

Is his name spelled out completely on Madden yet? That irked me. He's a gamer though. Moss, TJH, Amrstrong, hmmm. |

Barnes, Buchanon, and Tryon for that matter, are (were) marginal at best. I know having 4 Ss could be a "reason" but, they aren't versatile enough IMO. What are your thoughts?

lol!! I thought he was 6'6... plus our cocaine guru is gone. he wouldnt like it here. Maybe he can get a job in Dallas..... :Smoker: |
Re: 2010 Redskins Final Cutdown
Well, as far as the CB go. I do not like only keeping 4 CBs and 3 safeties. That is a dumb move if this is what we go with.
In the Nickle you have 5 of those guys on the field and dime you have 6. Not to mention a quarter or prevent. That is way to thin if we have another injury before moore returns. |
Re: 2010 Redskins Final Cutdown
I just heard tryon was traded to Indy.. What did we get back?
|
Re: 2010 Redskins Final Cutdown
Just to keep this thread updated for a semi-list of cuts like someone was doing earlier, so far we have:
Terrance Austin (to PS) Justin Tryon (traded to Colts) Ramzee Robinson Lee Vickers Logan Paulsen (to PS) Ryan Torain (to PS) Willie Parker Carey Davis Rob Jackson (to PS) Will Robinson Selvish Capers (unconfirmed at this point) Tyrone Carter |
Re: 2010 Redskins Final Cutdown
undisclosed pick.

And it's not confirmed yet that we're going with 4 cornerbacks, but even so 4 cornerbacks and 4 safeties is not uncommon. |

Per Chris Russell tweet: Don't know if anybody had this already, but rookie OT Selvish Capers was released as expected. Hopes to join PS if noone else. #Redskins

I agree we keep 4 safeties, but my problem is that one of those 4 is hurt for at least the first 2 weeks. So that leaves us with 3 to start the season. Which may be a problem. Horton and Doughty have both had injury issues in the past. Maybe we are looking at picking up a CB off the waiver wire as well. Westbrook and Barnes are not quality depth at all. |

Considering that he's older and gets burned a lot, I agree we should have kept Tryon and cut Buchanon. |
Re: 2010 Redskins Final Cutdown
I think we should have kept both and cut Westbrook.

Buchanon made enough plays to earn a spot...what has Tryon done? Did he even play? |
Re: 2010 Redskins Final Cutdown
had the pick in the endzone during the Arizona Cardinals game.
He was also one of the top 5 players ready to step up in 2010 per ESPN. not that it means much obviously. I guess ESPN saw more in Tryon than Haslett did. |
Re: 2010 Redskins Final Cutdown
Nothing on Rookie Safety Anderson Russell yet. Hmm wonder if he has a chance to make it.

Sorry, just got the axe! Erik Cook too. |
Re: 2010 Redskins Final Cutdown
lol.... how about Jarmon? Gone yet...
So I am still a little shocked that Banks is still on the team after all of his fumbling issues. One thing the fumbles did for him in the preseason, is put a HUGE I can't hold on to the ball sign on his back. |
Re: 2010 Redskins Final Cutdown
Cook and Capers did not surprise me at all. Maybe to the PS for both, but I am not sure.
|
Re: 2010 Redskins Final Cutdown
Im awestruck that B. Banks made it over T. Austin....... Only explanation is that "Scout Team Wildcat" that Shanahan said they were running in preparation for the Buffalo Bills is less scout team and more an actual package they have considered. I want a threat too on punt returns but so far he's only threatened to turn the ball over each time he touches it.

Everybody's saying 4 CBs but, is there confirmation that Westbrook is gone? He would make it 5 CBs. |
Re: 2010 Redskins Final Cutdown
Banks is a shocker IMO .. those fumbles were bad .. that being sad I like the move .. why not give this guy a shot he's such a speed burner .. be nice to have a few pR / kR for touchdowns and not risk injury to Santana...
congrats to big Will Montgomery #63 for making the team .. went to high school with this guy and one of my best men is best friends with this guy .. super nice dude who hooks us up with player lot parking and all kinds of fun stuff ... HTTR ! |
Re: 2010 Redskins Final Cutdown
He won't be used in any wildcat. He has never thrown a pass in his life.
His words after training camp practice in which he played the QB in the wildcat. |

Re: 2010 Redskins Final Cutdown
I think the coaches and players are excited with Banks' as a return man. If he's kept, it's a clear sign that they're prepared to deal with his ball security issues.

Re: 2010 Redskins Final Cutdown
He was the guy on the Dline with long dread locks... don't worry C... he didnt do anyhthing other than his hair to stand out in my mind. Last time I checked being recognized for being the only one with long hair on the dline is not the best way to make a team....
