re: The never ending Jason Campbell player haters ball
My brother(Giants fan) asked me last night, what was the one "biggest" move the Redskins made this season/off season and he started giving me choices...
He said/my responses... Hiring the Shanny's/coaching staff? No Trading for McNabb? No Changing the Defense? No Picking up the RB's? No Drafting T.Williams at #4? No Trading for J/Brown and changing up the O-line and scheme? No Trading J.Campbell away to the raiders? A resounding YES!! came from me.... He asked why? and I said....Kevin,If Grossman was our QB instead of McNabb,I would still have more confidence in our chances this season than with JC... Trading JC outta here alone, was Shanny's best decision as the Washington Redskins Head Coach. Nobody on this earth, will ever be able to tell me otherwise... For that reason alone, this Franchise can say... there is hope! |
Your above statement is not logical.
If something is true it remains true regardless of how many times it repeated. OL play will always effect QB play. Its not an excuse it simple football 101. E.g. Imagine your sprinting 100 meters with a parachute on your back against people that don't; in your 4th race does having a parachute on your back become an excuse?
The statement "There comes a time when excuses exhaust temselves" is only intended to express the mind-set of those who proclaim using the deficiencies of the o/lines as a declaration for the acceptance of failure is not acceptable. The mind-set of JC's detractors are that the we can no longer use o/line as an excuse, it has worn out it's welcome. Nothing ilogical about it at all IMO. |

Cutler studies the game in greater depth. I developed a man-crush immediately after reading his comments about Devin Hester. It shows how he pays attention to detail, and I love guys like that. |

He may study the game in great detail but he still makes some boneheaded throws. |

Campbell studies a lot to. Ironically Campbell could be considered an overachiever. However he's simply a game manager. Nothing less, nothing more. |

The number of times a statement X is repeated has no effect upon the validity of the statement. Which is kinda ironic considering your essentially using the same illogic to make your point. You just repeated the same statement you made before. It doesn't matter how many times you repeat your statement its doesn't become more logical with repetition. |
re: The never ending Jason Campbell player haters ball
Ok, ok, I got one.
Would you rather cheer for Jason Campbell or run through a prison shower wearing assless chaps and a blonde wig? |
re: The never ending Jason Campbell player haters ball
are the chaps rawhide or peruvian leather?

I'm not questioning Campbell's effort, I just doubt he has focused on every minutae there is with regards to the position. |

HA HA no! I want you looking good running through that shower. Watching you get chased by a prisoner would be like watching a Lion taking down a Gazelle.

You must run in, tag the far wall, and run back out...you are fair game until you can find the nearest prison guard who gives a damn. |
re: The never ending Jason Campbell player haters ball
I never thought I could possibly say this, but guys???
I think he's worse...
ding ding ding...we have a winner! Of course he is worse, he's on a worse team. He was surrounded by talent in DC and he couldn't put it together, why would he in the raiders orginization with less talent? I'll go out on a limb and say in a week or 2 or 3, campbell with have a good "statistical" day and someone will come on here and say something about it. Every QB in the league is good...otherwise they wouldn't be in the league. The difference is some learn as they go and they strive to get better and better, and have the talent and drive to do so. This is what creates consistency. I said it before campbell left, he will never be as good as he was at the end of last season. I don't even think he has the ambition to be better. He will always be a mediocre at best QB, and that's better than I can say for myself since I am no professional. It is what it is. |

love this thread, JC is nothing more than a game manager. holds on to the ball to long, and has a long delivery...longer than tebows.

Seeing how you would be wearing assless chaps and a blonde wig I would lean more toward Andy. |

Hey, surely fans know more than coaches on opposing teams for about telegraphing plays and holding the ball too long?
"Titans defensive tackle Jason Jones told Tennessee reporters Campbell was telegraphing on passing plays by leaning back before the snap." "And Titans defensive coordinator Chuck Cecil said Campbell was holding the ball too long in the pocket."
Campbell makes O-line look bad. - Oakland Raiders Forum | Message Board - Where the Raider Nation lives! Raiders' troubles included nerves, one player says - Sacramento Sports - Kings, 49ers, Raiders, High School Sports | Sacramento Bee |

Not according to my hoe count. There is only one color that I chase "Pink" and it isn't found in a rainbow. Trust me when I say that I will not be marching in your anal...I mean annual parade Buster. |
re: The never ending Jason Campbell player haters ball
The thing about Sunday nights game is the whole time I was thinking "...And if we had Campbell still, and not McNabb, we MIGHT of been lucky to lose the game by 11." He probably would have fumbled, thrown a pick 5 yards past the line of scrimmage, or did short dump offs on 3 & 8 for a 6 yard gain. Those fades in the endzone to Armstrong wouldn't have happened because Shanahan would have no faith in Campbell getting the ball there.

And he went to Auburn, I don't see why we are talking about him still. H e doesn't play for us anymore and we don't play them this year unless its the super bowl. |

Well if you put it that way then I guess I'll go ahead and cheer for Jason Campbell. At least that way my colon will still be intact. |
re: The never ending Jason Campbell player haters ball
its isn't like Campbell jumped into a better situation either. The lineman there are subject at best. Plus, he was playing the Titans who's D has been pretty damn good over the years. He didn't play well at all last week, but lets give it more than 1 week to determine if he is going to help the Raiders. I hope he gets better and the Raiders are actually better this year. The NFL is a better league when the Raiders matter. They just have that "it" factor people want to see, at least me anyway.

re: The never ending Jason Campbell player haters ball
Put JC on the Saints and they don't win 8 games...
..and I think the Saints have the most explosive offense in the NFL with great speed as well. Did I hear the stat right in that raiders/titans game? Not one of Campbell's passes were caught by a Wide Receiver? All were TE's and or RB's.. Is this accurate? I'd rather have Heath Shuler and I'm not kidding... |
re: The never ending Jason Campbell player haters ball
Well I hope he continues to throw the ball to Darren McFadden because he's on my Fantasy Team. I could use the receptions

That's just my question to all these people that get a boner from pointing out this guy's deficiencies. Yes, there were some people that swore up and down that he was a good QB under the wrong circumstances/bad o-line/bad coach, etc., etc., etc. And I think they were wrong. But what do you get out of showing that a mediocre QB is not doing well in one of the worst teams in the league? That still doesn't change the fact that... - We had an old/injury prone/terrible offensive line last year (and prob the year before) - We had one of the worst GMs (second only to Matt Millen probably) making football personnel moves - We had a coach that was WAYYY over his head, who got his balls cutoff halfway through the season - And we had a bend but don't break defense that was not good enough to carry a lousy offense. So tell me, what exactly do you get out of stating the obvious? It doesn't take a genius to predict that a mediocre QB will do terrible in a terrible team. Please explain this, because I don't understand the logic. Other than people just wanting to bitch about one player from a bunch of terrible players/things that we had last year (remember we release 10 of them in the offseason). |
