I don't understand the restriction at all. If I'm renting a spot and want to consume a few drinks as long as I'm not bothering anyone then who's business is it what I drink? If I was you I would just get up at the crack of dawn and make a bunch of noise like all the other campers seem to do. After all its just camping.
Any number of reasons, open fires, excessive littering - just to name a couple. I agree, a few drinks is not a problem. AND, if you're smart, respectful and "not bothering anyone", you have nothing to worry about when having an adult beverage or two b/c the rangers won't be checking in on you. Generally, they come by once give you a quick howdy and make sure you know that rules exist and let you know if you have any current, obvious infractions. If others complain about you, they come back and look for less obvious infractions, and so on and so on.

And by the way, I did get up at the crack of dawn (along with other campers) and, as we walked to the showers, my son & I sang the little ditty "Good morning to you" with the same gusto the partiers had singing less pleasant lyrics a few hours earlier. They were just as unamused as I had been.

You hate camping, we get it.

Generally, you treat your neighbors with respect, you get treated with respect. Most campers aren't yelling at their kids at 6:00 am or banging pots or otherwise bothering their neighbors - 8:00 a.m.? Well then most are up and moving, having breakfest etc. As in any situation involving lots of people in finite area, it only takes a couple of jerks to f*** it up for all the rest.

"Fo[u]r guys sit around late drinking and being respectful of other campers late into the night."? Yeah, happens ALL the time.

Thats the truth.

I just believe a ban of drinking is just a little much. The rangers knew after the warning we were still drinking and they understood we were not getting outta hand. I think that acceptable tolerrance was appropriate.

You either ban it or you dont.
There is no middle ground.
You cant make a rule that says you can get drunk but not act drunk.

Never heard of BAC? Just because you're not ACTING drunk doesn't mean you can't be cited for BEING drunk.

You're taking what I said out of context, I'm referring to behavior in a state park.
You know, the campgrounds for FAMILY activities.

People can still get thier drink on and still be respectful. I was at the pool drink in hand and even went down the slide a couple times.

Well i think i bitched about this before but the AC has been broke in my car for 2 summers now. I drive about 2 hours a day, all highway, all sitting in traffic.

I go to work in shorts, t shirts n flip flops. Get to the parking garage then change into my suit.

Its been so hot lately im thinking about bringing a change of boxers as well or just free ballin it to work.

Needless to say, im zapped of energy by the time i get home.

I was camping down in point lookout solo with my dog, started partying with a group of true necks that night. they were drinking hard but had to wake up early to get their crabbin lines out.

The scary part was they kept their beer in the coolers they had their raw chicken necks in.

Anyways, i dont mind that Md made camping sites non alcohol. I think there are still spots you can go.

How the hell have you been driving to work for 2 yrs without AC? Have you tried charging the system with one of those kits you buy at an auto parts store? They only cost like $25 well worth the money to give it a try. If its leaking they make something you can run through the system that will stop small leaks.

We had a rain storm just last night, now it's nice and moist, comparatively speaking.

Arrid as a dessicated Triscuit......

yeah they did the leak test a year or so ago, my trusted family friend mechanic said i would need to replace the entire AC unit at about 2.5k. thats not happening.

Did anyone else get stuck in teh hail storm that came tearing through yesterday around 5:30 ish?

I have 2 cracks in my windshield about 3 feet long each so i was scared my windshield was gonna bust open, hail the size of golf balls came thundering down. I was right on the 495 onto 95 N area going to baltimore. Luckily I was able to find a spot behind some other cars underneath an overpass so the front half of my car was kinda protected. Seconds later, the entire highway was stopped with people taking cover under the underpass, we squezzed in there, cars and vans were inchs away from each other.

this ahole armored truck started blaring his horn b/c every lane was stopped under the underpass with cars trying to take shelter.

after about 10 mins, it cleared up to bright blue skies and traffic was very light all the way home.

I'd take the humid heat in DC over the dry desert heat of the Mojave if I had Skins season tickets.

I may need to apply for a transfer....

Right around 100 up here I think. F'n blows, especially when the metalpro truck is scheduled to come today so you spend an hour moving 15 old transmissions and engines out beside the metalpro for him to pick up. I tell you what though, when you get back inside and the AC is working and you've got some cold water in the fridge, it definitely makes up for it.

JoeRedskin 06-21-2012 02:08 PM

Power just went out in my building. Hard to do much right now seeing as how I do most of my work on my comp. It isn't too bad right now but it is going to be stifling in very short order.
