Chico- click the link above to see what Friedgen thinks. He's flying a Ga Tech flag...
yeah thats pretty bad. I just have a hard time believing Fridge was let go following a 9 win season. They were solid last year. 2 wins this year and one of those against Towson? Im not buying they are a 2 win team, program wasnt left in that type of shape.

Sidenote, nice seeing UNC get blanked by the Wolfpack. There was a ton of trash talking by the coaches in the media leading up to this game. My favorite quote was by the Wolfpack coach talking about the UNC football program:

“As far as the flagship, here is a guy who was on a football staff that ends up in Indianapolis,” O’Brien said. “If you take three things that you can’t do in college football, you have an agent on your staff, you are paying your players and you have academic fraud. That is a triple play as far as the NCAA goes.”

The triple play lol.

The Maryland AD, whose name I'm blanking on, believed they'd never be better than good under Fridge. He wanted great...so let's see if he'll get that with Edsall. Pretty ugly start so far

JFC. Wow. That's sickening. What a f'n perv. I hope he spends the rest of his life in prison gettin' raped by large guys named Bubba. How could someone in such an advantageous position use it in such a horrible manner? And shame on the other guys who apparently knew about it and did nothing. If I ever saw something so disgusting and morally wrong occuring I'd be dialing 911 within seconds.

@Dirtbag: Yeah I didn't watch too much of the "game of the century." What a defensive struggle. Only way I'd watch a game like that is if I was rooting for one of the teams.

Glad we got that crap over and wont have to watch it in the national championship.

The biggest thing i wanted to watch was it great defense or is the QB back play that bad...about even, but more the latter
Not that one. Though I severely regret not watching that game now that I know what happened. No I'm talking about the game billed as the game of the century. I can not express how pathetic that game was in terms of offense. The playcalling and passing was atrocious.
I thought it was a great game because it was close, hard-fought, and the defenses looked good (I love defense). But yeah, from an offensive point of view it was, well, offensive.

I think the even bigger story is the cover up from Paterno and school administrators, who are currently charged with perjury and failing to alert the police.(paterno not included in charges)

See. I have a huge problem with Joe Paterno not being charged. He should be.
According to the statement released Saturday by Pennsylvania attorney general Linda Kelly, the grand jury found that in March 2002, a then-graduate assistant (Mike McQueary, a former Nittany Lions quarterback who is now a fulltime assistant), witnessed Sandusky sexually assaulting an underage boy in the showers in the Lasch Football Building. According to Kelly, the graduate assistant went to Paterno's home "to explain what he had seen."

"As my grand jury testimony stated," Joe Paterno said in the statement, "I was informed in 2002 by an assistant coach that he had witnessed an incident in the shower of our locker room facility. It was obvious that the witness was distraught over what he saw, but he at no time related to me the very specific actions contained in the Grand Jury report. Regardless, it was clear that the witness saw something inappropriate involving Mr. Sandusky. As Coach Sandusky was retired from our coaching staff at that time, I referred the matter to university administrators."
He's basically saying he knew and yet did nothing. Didn't notify the cops or even follow up on this. Yes he should be charged just like those other clowns. The fact that Penn State is paying for their lawyer fees is laughable as well.

This happened at the ECU game this weekend. It was hilarious. It was the only person on the field that day that showed some balls. The Pirates surely didn't. Southern Miss had 21 points on the board with only 7 yards on offense to show for it. Four TDs they had came on non-offensive plays. (2ints, 1 PR, 1 blocked punt)

Yeah, I agree. I mean I really don't want to pass judgement on him because I don't know all the facts or the details, but it sounds like he had the opportunity to notify the police and he didn't. And if that's the case, he should be charged just like the others.

These 2 guys Curley and Schultz are just as guilty as Sandusky. They didnt do a thing to protect other children when they knew of the allegations...thats just disgusting as the the actual act.

I'll second that article SS, there's no point in him sticking around. He needs to get the f out the door, and man up and accept responsibility for the fact that he knew and did nothing, other than essentially say, "I'm gonna steer clear of this, I don't want anything to do with this problem." But in doing so he let it continue, which is wrong. And what about the grad assistant? How do you witness a grown man going down on a little boy and not immediately call the police? I understand he was in shock, but after the fact he still didn't do anything other than tell JoePa, who also did nothing. It continued for a full 7 years after that, which is pathetic. Everyone involved in this scandal needs to be held accountable, and that includes JoePa.

That OT out of bounds run summed up the whole game for me. Wide open endzone and the guy steps out.

[YT]nfpj-7ULlMc[/YT]

Theres a difference between great defense and terrible offense and that game was an example of terrible offense. Between all the dropped passes, the overthrows, and the terrible play calling I think that the defenses ended up with to much credit for this one.

The saddest part is Stanford is number 4 in the BCS standings behind Alabama. How that makes sense is beyond me.

Such a corrupt system. Though I'm hoping for a Bama-LSU rematch. The more times the BCS outright messes up the better chance we have of getting a 16 team playoff.

Nice win by Va Tech last night on the road. Logan starting to get it, David Wilson=beast, and the defense, even with half there starters out due to injury, really played well against a solid team. Best win of the year.

Yeah, Stanford proves to be a pretender. Truth be told, Oregon probably is too as far as the national title is concerned, but they're now the class of the Pac-10. Tip of the hat. Nice win. LaMichael James is a freaking stud. 53 points on the road against an undefeated team is damn impressive.

And I'm sure LSU would welcome another shot to drop 40+ on the Ducks. They're stupid good. But that won't happen unless OK State loses and Bama drops another game. Don't see either one happening.

Even if Boise had won, I don't think it would've mattered. They get no respect for their weak schedule.

@Chico: Agreed. Seems like this team has really rebounded since losing to Clemson, they've been steadily improving every week since then, and this was obviously our most impressive win. Logan Thomas really came on strong against GT.

BTW, there still a chance to see Oregon vs Bama in the championship though LSU's quality wins might be enough to keep them in the title game even if they lose. Oklahoma vs Oklahoma State and LSU vs Arkansas will be very interesting games for sure.

Logan Thomas is a man-child. For the first few games, he looked mechanical as hell. It seems he's finally settled down and I think with defenses finally starting to respect him, the running game is going to be eve more insane than it already is.

See this is why I don't talk smack even when Virginia Tech is doing well. I just get the feeling somewhere down the line I'll be eating crow when Virginia Tech loses a game against a top 5 team or a team that had no business being in the game with them (JMU).

But seriously, nice round of upsets in college football today. Loved seeing Clemson go down. OK State went down, OK went down, Oregon went down, wasn't really an upset but I was happy to see Virginia take down FSU so that the Tech-UVA game will finally mean something for once, all in all some title hopes were dashed today.

Is there a bigger disappointment than Florida State? F8cking dumbass pundits in ESPN and CNNSI wouldnt shut up about Jimbo Fisher preseason. One publication even stated Jimbo as like a top ten coach after his first year on the job.

Yeah, I remember all the "FSU is the ACC team to beat" hype they were getting early in the season, and since then they've failed to live up to the hype. I'm glad once again they've failed to do anything of interest. As far as VT-UVA goes, I'm so happy we'll finally a Commonwealth Cup game that means something! Even though I'm confident Tech will win, it should be closer than usual. Mike London has really changed that team around for the better. And I really thought Clemson was ballin when they just crushed VT about a month and a half ago, but any loss by them is a good one. If it comes down to Clemson and VT for the ACC title, I'll feel better about our chances because Logan Thomas has really improved since that game, and he's the key to our success.

Mike London is a special coach. His character is off the charts high, simply a quality person. Watching him coach at Richmond was special, and even being a Va Tech fan, Im pulling for London at UVA. Football in the commonwealth is better quality when UVA is good.

London's character will be tested because I foresee a ton of schools coming after him shortly. Loyalty is a big thing with him, going to be interesting on how things play out.

Gators are having a down year, for sure. Transitioning to a brand new defense (Muschamp), and a brand new offense (Weis). Urban Meyer was too busy sending all of his assistants to other D1 coaching jobs, so the entire staff on both sides of the ball is brand new. These transitions happen. I'm not worried one bit about our program. Can't be top 5 every year.

On a side note, maybe some of those backups who are better than other teams' starters that you mentioned should have been playing last night for team Nike. I mean we all know this Oregon team is a different one than the team that got stomped by LSU week 1, right? LOL!

Still like to get that second shot at LSU? That would be a freaking bloodbath. Again.

Remind me, how many national championships has Oregon won? Also, a little trivia, what conference are the current top 3 ranked teams from? What conference are the top 3 BCS teams from? Exactly. Bring Oregon down south for a while and see how good of a program they really are.
