Unfortunately I'll never forget Heath Shuler. The bum still makes my blood boil. It was like false advertising, bait-and-switch...he was supposed to be so great.
I think the word favorite would qualify this list for another thread entitled .....redskins nobody wants to remember.....lol
ps - you forgot casey weldon

He was a poor mans michael westbrook. Whatever the hell that means. Neither one ever lived up to their promise but westbrook had the better years. Neither one ever had a qb though minus bj in 99

Here's something I bet no one other than Vince Coleman knows:

(read back of card):

Story was, Vince was a good punter in college and tried to make the Redskins as a punter. His cousin was a punter on the Vikings, Greg Coleman.

Well, the Redskins noticed his speed and wanted to make him a wide receiver, bur he sprained his ankle, sat out camp and chose baseball...where he was a base-stealing machine. We'll never see anyone steal 145 bases in 113 games again!

Hey, the Skins had it right...wow, what could have been. Too bad he was a Cowboys fan though.

SI article on it:

I think I just won the thread. :D

Fred Phelps (Michaels dad) is another:

Phelps was born and raised in the Rodgers Forge neighborhood of Towson, Maryland, located just north of Baltimore.[7] Michael is the youngest of three children. His mother, Deborah Sue "Debbie" (née Davisson), is a middle school principal.[8] His father, Michael Fred Phelps, is a retired Maryland state trooper who played football in high school and college and tried out for the Washington Redskins in the 1970s.

DL , McDole and Talbert , hated the cowboys ! DB - KR , Eddie Brown , had a heck of a game on a mudd soaked field vs the ST. Louis Cardinals '74 / '75 . D. Warren, Milot , Coleman and Olkewics , made our ' 79 draft and help win some rings during the 80's ! OL R. McKenzie , the man played nearly all positions and was a true Redskin .

Jean Fugett. He played TE for George Allen's Redskins and was chosen for the pro bowl after the 1977 season. A lot of older Redskins fans probably don't remember him.

A friend of mine worked with him as a prison gaurd. Timmy was a gaurd too - this was before he went to jail himself. Said Timmy was a guy all the athletes and celebs wanted to hang with when they came to Denver. He sent me an autographed Hat that reads
To Scott,
206 yards
Timmy Smith

Or was 204. I forget

Ask him how a guy his size finished his career with less tackles than most kickers in the league....through the safety of the internet of course.

I asked him if Brian Orakpo's Geico commercials with the caveman offend him as an actor and former Redskin. Still waiting for a response.

I gotta say I love the Kelvin Bryant mentions... I always liked him too. Oh and Ricky Sanders is pretty well known but he should get more cred for what he brought to the offense late 80's early 90's superbowl years..
