McNabb didn't suck...but it does go to show how good the Andy Reid's coaching staff must be...they got the most out of him when they had him...you gotta admit that
At one point he didn't suck. His last two years in Philly he was in decline in hindsight and here we didn't have a system or staff who were invested enough in him to try and hide it.

I am also shocked at the incredible accuracy of RG3...I really didn't see a single pass that was uncatchable. He honestly looked like a pro bowl level vet out there today.
I'm a little late to the party, but I just want to say that I am extremely impressed with what i witnessed today.

i will be honest, I did not think that we could beat the saints. It is not a knock on our team, it's just to start the regular season with a rookie QB against one of the best teams in the league seemed like a no-win situation. I figured that even if we lost, hopefully we were competitive and seen good things from RG3.

I think the sky is the limit if the team can continue to play at the level they did today for 15 more games. I am 28, and I can't really remember at any point scoring 40 points on a team. I think Joe Gibbs during his second run blew out somebody by 45 points during the 2005 season, but i don't know who and i don't remember watching the game..

RG3 looked like a real pro out there today, never forced any passes, looked comfortable the whole time and just in general made the saints look very, very poor.

People may debate whether or not we were helped by Sean Payton not being there. I think it could have helped, but that was still Drew Brees out there and a high powered offense that we basically spanked.

Excited for more great moments from this team this year.

And to end on McNabb's thoughts in the post above. I think he is a depressed, bitter, washed up ex-footballer who was ever only good because of the system he played in. Once he left philly, the world saw what kind of quality he was in Washington and in Minnesota...McNabb has a lot of hurt feelings i'm sure...
I was concerned about our offensive line but they did pretty well. Did anyone else think it interesting that each of the quarters it was
10,10,10,10....we scored RGIII's number....oh, oh.....our own "tebow-like" effect ie. 3:16

As for McNabb, always hated him always will.....his commentary is nothing but sour grapes towards Redskins pure and simple.....just something else that's gone WRONG for him!

A couple smart throwaways and a couple off the receivers hands - he was close to perfect in a loud dome where many veterans dont win. Your rite thats the thing i cant wrap my head around - he really didnt make one bad play. Didnt miss the open guys. Lord please let rg-3 stay healthy like eli manning. Dudes a beast !

Also Garcon's number is 88, and he caught an 88 yarder. Just saying..

Those people will pull their heads out of their asses and realize just how good our offense is soon enough. I for one savored every second of that finely tuned machine in a loud ass dome today. Rg3 outplayed drew breese and there aint no other way to look at it. HTTR. - and that httr felt really really goooood.
Yes.

And before anyone says it's only different because he has Griffin running his offense...that's true, but it misses the point. This was a very different offense than what we had seen from the Shanahan's in each of the first two seasons. A majority of our first half runs came out of the gun, which did wonders to protect our OL from itself.

It's telling that Spagnuolo didn't solve Kyle at halftime, which you might have predicted from watching the past two seasons. Kyle stayed one play ahead most of the game.
That's what I'm saying. It was not simply the case that Kyle had shinier toys. Instead he earned his paycheck more than he has in the past. Maybe Kyle is especially inspired.

Very good point. I feel like I'm going to have a heart attack every time he touches the ball, and not in a good way. The same feeling I had every punt after the first got blocked...

Re: Redskins at Saints Post Game Thoughts

I think the team as a whole did a outstanding job. The OL, the defense, the WRs, and especially RGIII. Not only that, but Kyle did a hell of a job play calling today. Mike had these guys prepared to play and it showed. The talent level on this team is so much better than it was 3-4 years ago. That much is certain.

My only two gripes about the game are Kyle going conservative at the end of the first half instead of pressing like he did that whole half, and the continued failure of blocks on Danny Smith's special teams.

He did have a nice run back negated and everytime he touches the ball i think hes going to break one. Slite issues with holding onto the bAll but i dont think its a major issue.

I sorta think Spags sucks. He had one ok defense that got in the playoffs the year they won a SB and what else have his defenses done?

Re: Redskins at Saints Post Game Thoughts

My thoughts after watching a game that the so-called ESPN experts said that the Saints would crush the Skins.

1. Great Team effort... Skins actually looked like a really good NFL team for a change.

2. RG3 looked like he has been playing in the NFL for years. Confident and showed he can throw long, short, and both hard and touch passes.

3. Too many people here putting blame on Danny Smith... last time I looked he wasn't out there missing a block on a punt, he wasn't making illegal blocks in the back, etc. All teams have these players that make dumb plays... it's football.

4. Was great to see Skins open up in shotgun and sticking with it in the beginning. Huge success with those WR screens... why did they stop running those for the rest of the game??? If something is working great, keep running it until the other team can stop it.

5. Too many running plays for RG3... half the number would be better.

6. Need to figure out how to close out games better. Only the Skins can dominate for most of the game and still have it come down to the last play. Game should have been over much earlier.

7. Best offensive game calling than I've seen in years from the Skins... Think they really shocked the Saints by having every play work so good in the first Qtr.

Number 6 is the only thing that bothers me. There must have been three times i felt safe only to start sweating again. I think kyle took his foot off the pedal way to early mainly our last drive with 1:30 run run run punt at end of half resulting in the blocked punt td You cant protect a 10 point lead against drew brees in the dome....ever.
Rg-3 talked about number 4 after the game. I was in a loud bar but thought he said the saints had figured it out and they started working the middle of the field than which led to more big plays. Hell you take awAy the blocked punt, the bad penalty by madieu williams and the very strange blown coverage where ( was it griffin?) that pulled back at like the ten yard line for some reason and that was a blowout. Game was so much worse than the score. Im goin to the cincy game and fully expect to be three and 0 driving back to new jersey with a big fat smile on my face.

I knew the skins would win, but the RGIII performance was much, much better than what I expected. I still say a 10-6 record and in the playoffs.

Re: Redskins at Saints Post Game Thoughts

I noticed two things that haven't been mentioned too much:

1) I have always believed a team becomes good when you start to not have just one good running back or one good WR, but you get a bunch of guys that do different things very well. It seems that Kyle has that kind of arsenal now: Helu can run a backdoor screen, you have a bruiser in Morris, Robinson has the speed, Garcon is physical and has some jets, Paulsen is a great blocker but can be snuck into formations, etc. And not to mention having the guy under certain have the athletic ability to roll, fake and the arm to make the throw.... yeesh.

Just making a one game comparison to the Gibbs 2.0. regime shows some positive signs. It use to be stack 8 in the box to take away Portis and then double Moss. You won't be able to do that with the athleticism on the field. It might end up being a pick your poison situation by the end of the season, and wouldn't that be sweet for a such an offensively starved team.

2) Man have there been some good finds in the past three drafts. Not including 1st or 2nd rounders, the skins had Riley, Helu, Gomes, Paul, Royster, Robinson, and Morris all contributing. It's good to see some of the later draft picks starting to make an effect on the game. Not to mention the good choices of Griffen, Williams and Kerrigan. It's hard not to believe that there won't be a couple surprises from this year's draft from later picks.

This is what I've been saying is:

QB position is better than Grossman or Beck
OL is healthy and we've got depth after last years injuries and suspension
RB are young, fast and pretty good
WR is like night and day, new additions, Garcon, Morgan, Robinson, (still haven't seen Hankerson). Better than last year and many previous years.
TE same

DL Jarvis Jenkins is back, Cofield and Bowen have a year in the system
LB young, aggressive and very solid
DB/S also improved over last year although still a weakspot and thin on the backup spots due to injury.
ST same as last year, maybe better despite the blocked punt.

I've been saying this team is under rated, they lost many close games last year with Grossman and Beck, injuries and suspensions.

They'll be in the playoffs.

Every laptop I've bought since 2008 as well as everyone that my friends and family have bought since that time has an HDMI slot. The problem is that a lot of TV's have the potential to slow down the frame rate and make the video choppy.

For example on my new TV that has a 2gb Nvidia GeForce graphics card my frame rate is capped at 30fps when I play games and videos seem slower as well.
