I just want to express my disappointment with Mike and Kyle Shanahan on this victory. Had they only followed Jeff Fischer's blue print of excellent coaching, we would could have walked away with a loss just like him. **** those guys man.
You would have thought they learned last year that high draft picks are a good thing. We can go for a high second rounder and they are trying to ruin it for us. Speaking of the Rams. Im sure they are rooting for the teams playing the Skins (for a higher first rounder) every bit as much as they are cheering for the Rams. It must suck to be a Rams fan today. Throw in RG3>Bradford and they must really be making liquor store owners in the St Louis area rich. |
Special teams showed up today -- and it wasn't just Forbath. That was the Vikings biggest edge on paper. It was negligible on the field. The defenses flaws are still very obvious, but they've scored four weeks in a row. The defense didn't score once in the 2008 or 2009 seasons. Four times in four weeks.
The offense is nowhere near its potential which is both awesome and frustrating at the same time. |

Hell no. No shame at all. I love it. I dont care how or why the Redskins win as long as they win. At this point to re-hash fisher vs Shanny or any nonsense about "haters",etc is just pointless. What I am seeing on a weekly basis from this kid is just unreal. He is "almost" single handedly willing us to victory. Do I give kudos to the FO / coaches for drafting him? I guess, but wasnt it kind of a no brainer? Without him on this team we are three years into Shannys tenure and a real sh#t bomb of a team. Again - RG-3 is keeping alot of jobs safe, and they should all realize that and buy him something really nice for x-mas. |

Everytime I see a comment like this, the only thing I can think of is how bad a coach Bill Belichick is, or how bad of a coach that Walsh was, or any coach that has won with a superstar QB. To me, this line says that Joe Gibbs is a great coach, Brian Billick is a good coach, and no one else to ever coach in the NFL was ever any good. They either won with a superstar QB or they didnt win. Is it really a surprise to see the offense better than last year when our QB went from RGInt to RG3? |

Easy to say now it was a no brainer. It was a move all your chips to the middle of the table type of move. Ballsy, big potential payoff, but still a risk nonetheless. |

Is it really a surprise to see the offense better than last year when our QB went from RGInt to RG3?
Well Belichick won 11 games a few years ago with Cassell. Also Parcells with Phil Simms or Tampa Bay with Brad Johnson. There are alot of examples actually - and if you want to look at Walsh's niners - well my God that team was LOADED with talent - talent that he drafted. I think it is safe to say we have no Jerry Rice, Ronnie Lott, etc, etc, etc, etc - Its not so black and white as you are making it out to be. Bradshaw wasnt exactly the greatest qb of all time, but look at the team that Knoll put around him? - |

Yes, Ill give them props for going all in. I think they knew inside that the fan base was starved for a QB and nobody was going to bat an eye if they made the move. It was twenty years in the making. |

The offense is nowhere near its potential which is both awesome and frustrating at the same time.
Bingo. I think if we were to improve in this area, just a little bit, we could easily overcome the defensive flaws and even be a playoff team. We need to cut down on stupid mistake (holding calls that negate positive yardage), mental errors (that horrendous drop by Briscoe), and make sound play calls (as in not calling a stupid toss run that hasn't worked all game in a critical 3rd and short). |
Im not trying to start a shanny bashing. Im really not. I see all these comments about jeff fisher now and it is driving me crazy. Lol. I dont know why, but the people wantin to put shanny on a pedestal drive me crazy. I stand by my statement that RG3 is keeping alot of jobs safe and im over the rainbow fine with that because it means we are winning. Like Matty said there is no shame in that. He is a super star. You put fisher on this team or alot of other coaches and coordinators i think we are 3-3 if not 4-2 or 5-1 or 6-0. You take rg3 off this team we are 0-6. Bottom line.

How long will it take us to fully comprehend how important the QB position is? I mean literally we cam basically hang all 3 wins on Bob. Our defense has essentially played 0-6 football. And only Morris has really shown anything consistent otherwise.

Pretty much what im saying exactly. In other words the team that has been put together is pretty much crap but shanny managed to get his hands on the goose that lays the golden eggs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: Skins/Vikings post game thread
I think next week is a HUGE test for this team. It will be our first divisional game and first place is up for grabs (if we win, we'll be in first place). One thing that this team has sorely lacked over the past couple of season is the ability to play big in games that matter. Not that this game didn't matter, but next week's game is even bigger. This is where I hope that RG3's leadership and momentum will carry the team into a W.

Not sure if i would totally agree with this. Under shanahan we are 3-0 against teams that won the Super Bowl that year. We actually tend to play up to our opposition in my opinion, and then chump the easy games. If we win that game, i think we could have a legitimate shot at a wildcard. |

I think when McNabb played for us we started 3-0 or something like that and we played the Iggles at Philly. The Iggles were coming from a loss and had played like crap in their previous games. Our team went and played very uninspired football. Also, I can't remember the last time we actually won either on a Sunday Night or Monday Night game. Plus, I think during that second game against the Giants last year, we were pretty much out of playoff contention. Honestly, I feel that this Vikings team is the first good team we've beaten. Yes, we beat NO, but they have continued to play very poorly up until last week. This upcoming game against the G-men could easily make or break our season. And I hope to see the team play better than they've played in similar situations. |

Also whens the last time the redskins had a player that can literally score from anywhere on the field?? I agree if we win next week I'd say we have a very good shot at the division. |
Re: Skins/Vikings post game thread
Smoot any updates on haslett getting fired ????and any trades before deadline on defense or sonething. We need bmerriweather at SS

Re: Skins/Vikings post game thread
After falling behind 9-0 early and being outgained 148-7, Washington responded with 24 straight points during a stretch in which it outgained Minnesota, 225-14.

Even with holding them to 3 fg's early, the skins of the past would have rolled over and called it a game. Having a terrible start and then turning it around is not something im used to, but can sure get used to it quickly. |

I really don't see y haslett would get fired in season |
Because in the past the defense would have thought "oh well our offense cant score more than 17 points so this is probably over". Lol. RG3 's ability is fuel enough to keep us from throwing in the towel. Such a breath of fresh air.

Honestly, I feel like RG3 can do anything to get us in a position to win...but sometimes I still hold my breath thinking that Kyle is going to call some stupid play that will not work. Like today when he called that toss run that had netted us negative yards in the first quarter. But I guess those "stupid plays" may be the result of lack of execution, but still. |

Was the last play a designed qb draw? If so that's gutsy to say the least but it worked great |

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Thats what I was thinking. A slow developing run play when they are already crowding the line of scrimmage since its 3rd and short. Should of just handed off to Morris right up the gut. |
Damn briscoe would have had a big catch and maybe score he was pretty open

Barring some injuries that might be the last time we see that guy on the field. That was a really really bad drop. He didnt hear footsteps or anything and the pass was perfect. If he catches that and scores RG3 would have gotten me like 58 instead of 38 fantasy points. Damn u briscoe. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Re: Skins/Vikings post game thread
Niles Paul earned his roster spot today, the FO gets credit for this one, even if he's only destined to be a SP superstar.
M. Williams played his best game of the season, and he's looking like he could be short-term solution (couple/few years) at FS given the other positions that will be critical to address. He's tough as nails and showed some serious football IQ on the INT today. Was Lorenzo Alexander dominating as OLB today? If so, that's the biggest surprise of the season. When I saw him both Fletcher and Riley were also on the field, so Zo must be outside. He's got a great nose for the pigskin and has enough power to create pressure even against interior lineman. Fred Davis and Tana. When these guys get work we have the best chance of winning. Hopefully Garcon, Hankerson or Morgan develop into a #1 type possession WR but until then keep Moss in the gameplan early and often. |
Re: Skins/Vikings post game thread
Was an amazing game, RG3 is truly a superstar and will keep us competitive and good for a long long time.
Not to be picky - but I'd like to see more passing yards than all of these running yards. Obviously invaluable to have the running when things break down, but I still don't like seeing the called runs / option plays. Anyway, I know it was a good defense, we were missing Garcon, and he hit 77% of his passes - so I know he's just as good a passer as an athlete / runner -- so the potential is there for killing it in the passing game... but having almost as many running vs. passing yards in my mind is not sustainable long-term. For example, I'm scared about exposing him to the NYGiants d-line / lb core.. |

Griffin described the play as one where he saw the specific defense and that they had prepared for that look. Then, depending on the linebackers he was either throwing to the hot read or running for the first. obviously he ran it. |

Don't think you can call any deal giving up 4 draft picks including three number 1s a no brainer. He could easily have been the next Jamarcus russel. I'm just glad he's as advanced as he is in the passing game. While cam was amazing last year, he doesn't hold a candle to RG as a passer. |
