Well they've already said that this story isn't supposed to have a happy ending and there's probably going to be a few characters knocked off towards the last few episodes.

My predictions... Morgan (he'll be back to die later on), Andrea (I wish) maaaybe Tyrese's crew or someone in it? They'll be back for sure since his father and son buddies seemed overeager to sell out the prison gang.
See, none of those would really make it an "unhappy" ending. For it to be unhappy, theyre going to have to kill someone we actually care about, or the baby.

Rick won't die until the series finale if ever. Just not gonna happen. Everyone else, as in the books, is fair game, but Rick is the heart of the series even if that is sometimes not fleshed out properly on the show.

I'm hoping these "setup" episodes are gonna be worth it in the end..

Re: The Walking Dead season 3

I didnt view it as a setup episode. I thought last nights episode was great. I know it was "talkie" but they were very interesting conversations. The conversation between Rick and the governor was awesome. Loved Miltons interest in Hershels stump and the fact that he got to know the prison gang. Now that theyre real people to him, he wont go along with the governors plans to slaughter them.

LOVED Daryl and the governors toadie trying to "one up" eachother, developing mutual respect for eachother, sharing smoke, and knowing that tomorrow theyre probably going to be asked to kill eachother. Reminded me of German and British troops celebrating Christmas together, only to continue fighting the next day

The meeting with Rick and the Gov had me on edge, even though I knew nothing was going to really happen. These last 3 episodes should be great.
are they going to wait until the finale for the battle at woodbury?
I'm thinking the last 2 episodes should be worth the watch.

I don't think every episode needs to be kill, kill, kill and I did appreciate the bonds and understanding the Woodbury crew made with the Prison crew, but the plodding pacing is wearing me down in an emotional sense (which may be the whole point).

To me it feels like waiting for the bus, you're standing around waiting, waiting, waiting and wondering when it's going to arrive, fervently looking at your watch.

p.s. Andrea now has me confused. She seemed torn between the prison crew and the Woodbury crew. Then at the end of the episode seemed content that The Governor sat down with Rick (even though she obviously doesn't know wtf was said or how The Governor is using Michonne as a bargaining chip) yet the preview of the next episode shows her telling Tyrese's crew not to trust the Governor.

If Andrea is playing the whole, "keep your friends close but your enemies closer" card, she may actually earn some viewers respect back, including mine.

That's why I find being able to watch entire seasons on Netflix is so much more satisfying than having to go week to week. That way when there's a so-so episode it doesn't stand out so much.

I'm really hoping they kill off Andrea. I think it might happen. I can picture her going down in a blaze of glory trying to take out the Gov. but he ends up putting her down.

My hope is that somehow Andrea sacrifices herself to save Michonne. It'd be nice to see Andrea lay down her life for someone who took a risk on her, and then she totally bailed on for a warm bed.

Netflix is how I started watching the show. I watched the first two seasons over a period of about a week. Much easier to watch 3-4 episodes in a row with no commercials. It's rare that I can find the time to sit down at a designated time each week to watch a show.

Well the comics are in black & white, but it's more likely just an excuse to re-run the old episodes and keep cashing in on the show.

I guess enough people watched that so they decided to run the whole series that way.

Yeah I usually do, it's not bad. I like to hear what people's theories are on things and sometimes they have a good guest or two.

Past few weeks though I've been switching over to Vikings.

I watched one episode just to see what it was all about and it was okay. But I mostly just tuned in to hear the actors talking out of character and uh, pretty sure about half of this cast is from the UK.

It always blows me away when people from the UK do American accents and then I'm like, well why not? Americans do regional accents all the time.

Just have always found that odd.

Re: The Walking Dead season 3

Nothing about this episode?! After the last 2 boring setup episodes, there was mad suspense in this one.

Looks like Andreas set to be The Governor's little project. It took almost 2 whole seasons, but this is the first episode, probably since season 1 that I liked Andrea. She grew her proverbial balls back, said "F you" to everyone and tried to make it to the prison. I was so excited to see the prison in the distance then BAM. lol

I'm also happy that Milton has become wary of The Governor as well. It's hard to watch your friend/colleague turn into something so evil and to turn your back on them.

Tyrese and Sasha have me edgy as well, as they're so close to turning on The Governor but those 2 geeks they're with keep F'ing with their emotions.

Man this episode had me dying. Great, great episode.

BigHairedAristocrat 03-18-2013 10:10 AM

Re: The Walking Dead season 3

I thought last weeks episode was great. This week was pretty good too, but nothing really happened. Andrea ALMOST killed the Governor twice. The governor ALMOST killed andrea. Andrea ALMOST got back to Rick and the prison. Rick ALMOST got to snipe the governor. Milton ALMOST decided to betray the Governor. Tyrese ALMOST decided the Governor was bad.

Basically, i was annoyed with this episode because a bunch of stuff ALMOST happened, but ultimately nothing really happened. I guess theyre saving everything for the last episode, but it would be nice if something actually happened.

I would have preferred if the governor had just killed Andrea quietly right out of ricks sight. That would be a more fitting end for her (she waited too long to make her decision) than whatever the Governor has in store. I'm assuming Milton will rescue her, she'll escape, and he'll be executed and zombiefied by the governor as punishment.

I read an article that says 27 people are going to die in the season finale.

That's bound to include some key cast members. Sounds like the finale is going to be a bloodbath.

Wow. Also sounds like alot of "innocent" woodburyians will die. By the looks of it, the the governor only has a dozen or so evil minions. The majority of woodburyians are just "oblivious" citizens that stay there because its safe.

I'd say Milton did betray him by burning the pit walkers.

The show leads us to beleive it was him - and it probably was, but the Governor probably still thinks its Tyrese. Im sure Milton will have a role in helping Andrea escape, but i hope she ends up dying to save him. I like Milton and think he'd be an interesting addition to Ricks group. However, one way or another i think Milton or Andrea is going to die. The one who doesnt will probably take over Woodbury instead of joining Ricks group.

i didnt understand why those people he shot werent zombiefied themselves. did merle get that many headshots?

Either way, the Governor is running out of guys. He only had about 15-20 able-bodies guys to start with. Rick and co. killed quite a few of them when they escaped from Woodbury. They got atleast one of them when the prison was attacked. Now, Merle took out around 5.

I hope the prison attack reflects the Governors weaked forces and he doesnt just have an endless supply of "redshirts."

Also, if any of you have noticed, the show tells you who is going to die next in the opening credits (this has been done almost since the shows beginning). Merles zombification was "annonced" last week when Michael Rookers name in the credits showed up with zombie eyes in the background. That same episode, the credits certain actors names show up in front of a certain number of tombstones. One of them i'm pretty upset about as he/she is my 2nd favorite character.

Sucks to see Merle go, but at least he went down in a blaze of glory.

I can't wait to see the final showdown at the prison. I'm betting when the Gov gets there the place will be booby trapped like crazy, or full of walkers, or maybe both.

Wait, what? Rooker's name has always been with the zombie eyes background this season. At least in the opening credits. Laurie Cohan's (Maggie) name has always been in front of the tombstones.

Unless I'm missing something or unaware of which part of the credits (opening or closing) you're talking about.

Yet, Ricks group didn't lose anyone other than Andrea. 27 people die & it's essentially all extras.

I'm glad Rick is able to live his dream by starting a nursing home. The ending scene was a little anticlimactic in my opinion.
