Re: Jordan Black suspended for PEDs
Then ****ing appeal it all the way to the top. **** Goodell!
It doesnt matter if its prescribed by a doctor. Unless players apply for, and receive an exemption from the league in advance, they cannot take prescription medications which contain drugs on the banned substance list. This is in the CBA negotiated by the NFLPA. If you want to say **** somebody, say it to Black for being stupid or the union for agreeing to this arrangement. The banned substance list is there for a reason. If certain prescription medications weren't on the list, or players could take performance enhancing drugs as long as they had a doctors note, then every player would find a doctor to prescribe them mediciation. It would defeat the entire purpose of banning PEDs. If a player has a condition where they truly need a medicine on the list, they can go through the process to get an exemption. Most dont go through the process because they dont truly need the medication and alternatives are available. They take the drugs for the enhancing effects, not their true purpose. However, if a player decides for his health, he needs to be on a banned medication and he cant get an exemption, then he should find another line of work. |
Re: Jordan Black suspended for PEDs
should have just used the pump instead of the pills

Re: Jordan Black suspended for PEDs
Appeal it like the 2 Seahawks did and play Sunday.

Tarik El Bashir says Will Montgomery should be fine...Phewwwwwwwwwww

Re: Jordan Black suspended for PEDs
Already appealed. File a lawsuit, get an injunction and make them defend themselves. This is happening all over the league. It's time to fix it.

Thanks Smoot, I got onto the warpath.net to check his status. You guys are great about knowing these things. The Redskins need Montgomery down the streach. This is good news. |

Which means we really only have to worry about the right tackle spot. Of course, that's true whether Polumbus plays or not ... |

Fine as in playing Sunday or just not a season-ending injury? |
Re: Jordan Black suspended for PEDs
Well, the first diagnosis was a sprian so I figure fine as in he will play Sunday?

Yessssssss! |
Re: Jordan Black suspended for PEDs
I don't think they've officially said whether Monty is starting or not. Shanny's supposed to give an official update tomorrow. But the injury was never thought to be season ending from what I understand.
Jordan Black ‏@jordanblack78
This is about prescription medication prescribed to me by my doctor and is NOT a steroid.
But again after all these other guys were suspended including your own teammate why the hell not just do what the league asks and clear it? I think it is because he knows the league cannot disclose specifics on which type of amphetamine it is. So why not tweet it was socially acceptable Adderall? These guys certainly arent going to tweet " damn i knew i shouldnt have been snorting rails of cocaine last month ". Edit: going forward after all these suspensions any player who is suspended for adderall should also be suspended for being lazy and stupid. If indeed that is the amphetamine they were taking there is absolutely no excuse for not knowing the protocol and i would have to chalk it up as a strait up lie to cover up what they were really taking. |
Re: Jordan Black suspended for PEDs
If Monty and Polumbus both start, i'll be immensely happy. Our oline as a whole is pretty horrible at pass protection, but we've gotten by because of RGIIIs scrambling, Kyle's playcalling, and the lines working as a unit. If the unit got mixed up, we could be in a world of trouble.
|
Re: Jordan Black suspended for PEDs
I don't think it matters that much who's in and who's at this point. The team is playing with a lot of confidence. The injuries, if anything, have had a galvanizing effect.
|
Doesnt Polumbus have to sit out a game if they called it a concussion? Than after the game pass the baseline test to come back the following week?
|

Of course, that's true whether Polumbus plays or not ...
I think Compton is going to impress, he's had 14 weeks of learning and watching. It's showtime and time to get dirty. |

RG3 didnt sit out a game after his diagnosed concussion, so why should Polumbus? |

Did they officially call Griffs a concussion? |

RG was deemed "shaken up" or "mild concussion". I think there's a difference. |
RG was deemed "shaken up" or "mild concussion". I think there's a difference.
Well, MS called it a "mild concussion" and, as I recall, got sh** from the league for doing so. He was officially diagnosed with a concussion and was subsequently cleared to play. Robert Griffin III has no lingering symptoms from concussion - Hogs Haven EDIT: From another article:
Griffin went home and not to the hospital Sunday afternoon, so that’s the good news. But he couldn’t tell an independent neurologist on the sideline what the score was or what quarter it was, and the team knew within minutes that he was not coming back to the game. Now, how this became translated from the field to the press box as “shaken up, return questionable” is beyond unacceptable in this day and age of the concussion-obsessed NFL, which is being sued for millions in class-action lawsuits filed by former players who claim the league didn’t protect them enough.
Robert Griffin III concussion is Redskins’ — and their fans’ — biggest nightmare - Washington Post |

Just heard the Jordan Black interview on 980, he sounds pissed AND it seems like the Redskins are getting a lot of focus. Odd.

I don't get how they take any real offense to this (and I'm no fan of yours necessarily), but whatever. Gotta feel for Andy Reid IMHO. In the past year his son died, his other seems unwell, and the thing he's put most of his time and effort into is coming to a sad end. That first one alone is enough to send many parents into total meltdown. I remember reading in one social-psych class loss of a child is the most traumatic thing a person can suffer. Also gotta wonder if it would be best for Reid to take a year, or two? If/when he got himself together, I'd give anything to swap out our guy(s) with BA taking on final say power over personnel. Reid back to pure coaching. That's one of the better probability routes to Conference Champion and/or SB visits for us over the next decade. |
Re: Jordan Black suspended for PEDs
BA is not a well regarded personnel guy. Try again.
|
Re: Jordan Black suspended for PEDs
What a joke. But not as funny as the latest rumor mill:
In an independent investigation headed up by Mara himself, there is serious talk on the table about suspending the entire Redskins team, and banning them from the post-season for winning too many games in a row. |
