I recall Garcon getting a taunting call for that kinda stuff during a game. No doubt Sherman was jawing. Only if Trent had punched him, it would have been dirty, imo.
I think the refs let too much go. They should have called a couple of early penalties. |
I know.
But what's done is done. Robert was so shook up, but I just can't find it in me to sustain the hate for letting him stay in. We lost the game because of more than just letting him stay in. We have nowhere to go but up.
Im not sustaining it. It is sustaining me. Lol. Agreed about the future. Little ounce of me who is worried about the totallity if Griffs injury. The hate will go away for good and it will turn to complete optimism of the immediate future once i know Griff will be 100 percent for camp. |
I think some people are missing the point. We are all excited about the future, we are happy with winning the NFCE, we are happy with a 7 game win streak and we don't want Shannahan fired.
We are just upset that we lost a game that we should've won. Did Griffin even complete a pass in the second half? We were still up by 1 with 8 minutes in the game even though we didn't move the ball for 2.5 quarters. Their D wasn't anything special it was just that our QB was completely inaccurate. Bad decision to allow Griffin to stay in. Anyways, we move on thinking about shoulda, coulda, woulda's.
This To call for Shanahans firing at this point is stupid But,and it's a big But,that was one if the worst coaching descisions ever made to leave RG in there It was painfully obvious to casual football watchers he shoukdnt be in there I believe if Cousins started 2nd half we win this game |
Agreed. This time of year a lot of guys are dinged up. Internally I'd bet nobody is upset they stuck with Griffin. I'm sure they all wanted to go down swinging with him in there.
But if Joe Webb was our backup. KC -1 has come up huge very recently in these situations. I felt so great about the KC pick until tonite. Now its tough to understand why we didnt have a fighters chance with 8 mins left up by one? |

I'm the best option"
The problem is, he's not the best option when he's hurt. That's why you can't rely on players to tell you the truth. After it was evident he was hurting bad and his game was severely affected by it, he should have been pulled. This isn't even a 2nd guessing. At least at the half he should have came out with Cousins. |

Well i went from thinking i hated the dirtybirds to being their biggest fan. I cant stand Sherman. Thank u TW for smacking his mouth on TV. You took some of the sting away. Go Falcons!

Let me make sure I'm understanding this... You're blaming Cousins for not being able to pick up where RG3 left off? The Ravens situation was different. We had momentum, we were driving, were deep in Ravens territory and I think Cousins expected to get put in after RG3 was injured the first time. This time, we had zero momentum, hadn't sustained a decent drive since the first quarter and although up by 1, the offensive line started breaking down and the defense had been getting worked up and down the field since the 3rd quarter. But somehow Cousins deserves some blame? |

I see what you could have thought. No not in any sense of the word am i blaming KC. Talk about an impossible spot. He was like a relief pitcher coming in with the bases loaded and no outs while losing 3-0 He had no chance at that point. Be should have come in at the half. |
Re: Seahawks 24 Skins 14 post game thread
I'm looking at this with the cup half full, not half empty. Only way we were going to win was with a healthy Robert at 100%.
I think the doctors greened him and said he was good, and they were trying to give Robert the opportunity to try and pull it out. But he was shook. The pain and instability took him off his game. Robert didn't want to leave, Shanny didn't want to bench him, the line started allowing pressure which only compounded problems with his mobility, the D started faltering on crucial downs. Robert getting messed up and the cheap shots at such a disciplined team took the wind out of their sails. It's okay. Really, it is. Robert will heal up, we'll get some more pieces, get back at it next year. He's a rookie QB who inspired and lead the team to the vaunted NFCE championship title. We swept Dallas, swept Philly, and if not for a fumble by Moss we sweep the G-Men. If he was healthy, I believe we would have run the table all the way through the playoffs. Look to next year. |
Re: Seahawks 24 Skins 14 post game thread
was a great season but I'm drained LOL.
Look what happened Pigskins, you get engaged and we lost... RUN NOW! lol JK HTTR |
Glad the Rams only got the 22nd pick for the trade. Now for the 32nd next year.

Yeah, I've heard all his post game press conferences, but he just literally changed gears; snapped. I completely agree with him that he's the best option, but now this is something which sport analysts are going beat to hell and will be a small footnote down the road of ''negatives'' on Robert. Reading the quote and hearing the quote are two different things. Its a non discussion point. Lets relax. |
Re: Seahawks 24 Skins 14 post game thread
From John Keim:
@john_keim: Seahawks CB Richard Sherman on RG3: "I'm sure if he were 100 % it would have been a different game." |
Re: Seahawks 24 Skins 14 post game thread
Today I learned RG3 has a little bit of Favre in him, where he will keep playing even if he is hurt, even if it may seem to be a negative for the team. Also the defense although it has improved will by no measure win the Redskins games. At least not yet. It will keep the score in the low 20's but will not be good enough to win games if the offense is not clicking. 224 yards on 6.1 YPC will not win a lot of games, especially in the playoffs.
Redskins were not going to win this game unless RG3 was completely healthy. Cousins would not have made that much of an impact. Cousins definitely would not have taken the team beyond this round if they had won. The seahawks was the best defense the skins played and without a completely healthy RG3, the seahawks proved to be the better defense, offense and team. Now the Redskins need to take a page from the seahawk playbook and improve their defense through key underrated free agent signings and drafting physical playmakers in the secondary. |

Exactly. I'm happy as hell he's our QB but I don't care how he said he felt. It was obvious he was hurting and wasn't his usual self after limping back on the field late in the first quarter. When Cousins finally did get in the game, the receivers, except for Santana, suddenly got butter fingers. Thats why as one poster put it, "He didn't exactly light it up." Cousins did his part, the receivers didn't. Of course I'm happy about our future. I'm freakin' ecstatic! But Cousins has proven his worth and leaving RG3 in was a mistake. And I thought it was obvious during the game, obvious. HTTR! |

From what I saw today Wilson and RG3 are pretty similar. Wilson is better than I thought he was.

Personally I think Wilson is better only because he is not as reckless as RG3. With that said, I also believe Cousins is our future QB. Sorry... |

Re: Seahawks 24 Skins 14 post game thread
Not even mad at the loss. To me, this game was just gravy. The team far exceeded my expectations this year, and can't wait to build on to what we have. I'm sad to see football end for the Skins and to see my playoff beard go. There is always next year and I look forward to the upcoming off-season. Just hope RGIII isn't seriously injured.

Cousins at best will win the Redskins games. Griffin at best will win the Redskins superbowls. |
Personally I think Wilson is better only because he is not as reckless as RG3.
He ran the same exact type of plays RG3 would have run if he was 100%.
With that said, I also believe Cousins is our future QB.
