Re: Draft talk rounds 4-7
Happy, but why did Phillip Thomas drop from where he was expected though?
|
Re: Draft talk rounds 4-7
Philip Thomas is fragile. Who else was available?
|

He was expected to go anywhere from the 3rd to the 4th |
Re: Draft talk rounds 4-7
OMG. What if Poyer and Rambo were still available in the 5th?
|

Biggest weakness I've read is somewhat inconsistent when wrapping up on tackles and a nasty leg injury in 2011. |
Re: Draft talk rounds 4-7
i like it
|
Re: Draft talk rounds 4-7
I would have been happy with Thomas in the 2nd.
|
Re: Draft talk rounds 4-7
What do you know? The Redskins are aware of their individual team needs. I like this pick.
|
Re: Draft talk rounds 4-7
Love that we added two pure ballhawks in the secondary!
Bring on the game changing Ints, Baby! |
Re: Draft talk rounds 4-7
Seriously though, in the 5th we should take the BPA in the following positions (CB, S, OT, WR) at both spots.
|
Re: Draft talk rounds 4-7
if we can merge amerson's 13 picks in 2011 w thomas' 8 picks in 2012; that'd be awesome
|
Re: Draft talk rounds 4-7
If he played every game this past year and checked out medically during final evaluations, it's a great pick.
|
Re: Draft talk rounds 4-7
It's official! Phillip Thomas is coming to D.C.!
|
Re: Draft talk rounds 4-7
It feels like this draft is moving extremely slow.
|
Re: Draft talk rounds 4-7
Love that we added two pure ballhawks in the secondary!
And I love how they can both play near the line of scrimmage as effective blitzes like Haslett loves from his secondary guys. |
What do you know? The Redskins are aware of their individual team needs. I like this pick.
and, apparently, where guys will go. it seems like we always have a couple solid choices and rarely draft overly high. |
Re: Draft talk rounds 4-7
I like the heights of both secondary picks... Big and athletic.
|
Re: Draft talk rounds 4-7
Damn was hoping Harper could last another round or two
|
Re: Draft talk rounds 4-7
So Philip Thomas led the nation in interceptions last year and....
Amerson led the nation in interceptions the year before. Hmmm. |
Re: Draft talk rounds 4-7
Minnifield gonna be in the mix also, kinda like another draft pick.
|
We have 2 starters now already in the secondary from this draft. Can't be mad at that

And a matchup nightmare at TE with Jordan Reed. |
Re: Draft talk rounds 4-7
John Franklin to GB is going to confuse some fantasy football drafts
|
Re: Draft talk rounds 4-7
We're having a great draft so far. I have wanted the Skins to pick Phillip Thomas for months. There are still a lot of good players left who might be able to help us very early in their careers, if we get them. I'm lovin' it!
|
Re: Draft talk rounds 4-7
Plus Richard Crawford and Jordan Bernstine. There will be competition, and may the best men win.
I think they will continue to go BPA, and keep adding youth to challenge for jobs and add depth. I hope we see LB, WR, DL, and OL in the next 4 spots, in no particular order. |
Re: Draft talk rounds 4-7
2 picks next round. Let's add some blue collar, luch pail toting depth.
|

Add scat RB to that as well. |

Yup there's a bunch out there. And Senior Executive AJ Smith has a history of drafting good ones in the later rounds. |
Re: Draft talk rounds 4-7
Da'Rick in round 5?
|
Re: Draft talk rounds 4-7
Lattimore would make my day.
|

OK, I like this idea too. |

What we've been doing since Shanny day 1. Wouldn't be BPA. We'll get another nice name soon. |
Re: Draft talk rounds 4-7
Ugh, I hate the 9ers. They have so many picks left, they are going to end up cutting a bunch of picks.
|
Re: Draft talk rounds 4-7
So Philip Thomas led the nation in interceptions last year and....

Re: Draft talk rounds 4-7
Phillip Thomas
Based on his play as a junior, it looked as though Thomas was going to assert himself as one of the top safeties in the 2012 draft class. But a gruesome leg injury (broken left leg, dislocated ankle) suffered in a non-contact drill just three days before the 2011 season opener dashes those hopes. |
Lattimore would make my day.
I wouldn't mind that |
Re: Draft talk rounds 4-7
Nice pick. Id say let him play behind Tanard Jax for a year then start'm FS year two if he shows.
|
