Re: Fantasy Football 2013 Thread
Ok, I can't do it this week. I can't start Steven Ridley against the Bucs. I'm going with Daryll Richardson against the Cowboys. I hope I don't regret it.
Reed is definitely on my watch list for sure. I could see him being a good pickup after our bye week.
I already dropped Fred Davis and picked up Reed. Usually Antonio Gates as my main guy for now. Blah. |
Yeah got him on the bench right now in one league. He's been a huge bust
How do you sit a talent like this for Brandon Jacobs and that other bum? Here they have NO running game, Eli is turning the ball over like mad, and the one guy in the backfield that can take it the distance from anywhere on the field is on the bench. Coughlin seriously blows. |
Re: Fantasy Football 2013 Thread
Any of you guys have Steven Ridley? I don't know what to do with this guy, and there are several website that continue to project him with 10-12 points per week. Really? I saw him spliting time with L. Blount last Thursday. If he can't keep Blount off the field with his play, then what good is he? He doesn't catch passes, so he is totally a 1st, 2nd down back. I have Daryll Richerdson as well, maybe I'll start him this week.
I don't think Hoody really likes the guy IMO. He's coughed it up a few times so they're putting in Blount. He's got kind of a bad matchup this week. I'd sit his ass. |
Re: Fantasy Football 2013 Thread
I have actually dropped Ryan Mathews for Willis McGahee. Willis will be the only offense the Browns have, once he passes his physical. I actually see him running and catching, even though he is old. Mathews is going to get you 50 yards in stats, THEN fumble and lose you points.
I picked up Chris Ogbonnaya. McGahee hasn't had any time on the field since last year. No way does he come in there and carry the load. Not that it matters cause Cleveland= fantasy graveyard. |

I'd like to trade his ass, if I could find a better RB, but obviously with all the injuries, they are all gone. |
Re: Fantasy Football 2013 Thread
Desean Jackson was a dud! F him... this week.
It was either him or Josh Gordon with Cleveland. I just didn't trust a 3rd string QB to get it done. |
Re: Fantasy Football 2013 Thread
I got burned by J. Charles last night. The guy I'm playing this week started Charles and Desean Jackson. He has 30 and my week hasnt even started yet. ugh. Alex Smith is so timid. He won't throw to anyone unless they are wide open. J Charles is the Chief's whole offense.

Re: Fantasy Football 2013 Thread
man, F dwayne bowe.
|
Re: Fantasy Football 2013 Thread
Picked up Josh Gordon since he was reinstated into the league and then sat him this week.
Big mistake, dude is having a field day. |
Re: Fantasy Football 2013 Thread
Man I'm so glad I start Jordan Cameron over Vernon Davis in 3 of my leagues
|
Re: Fantasy Football 2013 Thread
I'm half tempted to drop David Wilson. The Giants are garbage and so is he.
|
Re: Fantasy Football 2013 Thread
Griffin got 5 points yesterday. I definitely bought the Skins offense hype, and have been blasted in all three leagues for it.
Of course, I really want to know how Marshawn Lynch gets <7 points when Seattle scores 45????????(add a few !!! and @#&'s as well) |

I own him too. Be patient. He's just too good of a talent to throw away. At some point this year they're going to get him going. |
Re: Fantasy Football 2013 Thread
So Spiller, Tate (bush forced this move), Bryant, royal, and Nicks scored me a combined 15 points this week.
Should have started Gates (flex) along with Cameron (the only reason I only lost by 4). Well that and my opponent had a crappy day as well. |
Re: Fantasy Football 2013 Thread
Just traded away Jamaal Charles, Isaiah Pead, and Mo Sanu for Arian Foster, Ben Tate, and Jared Cook... thoughts?
btw, my starting TE was Pettigrew. 20 team PPR league, we start 3 wr's and 2 rb's - Sanu & Pead weren't starters |

You won't be starting Foster AND Tate, so that position won't help you as much each week as Charles by himself. Cook was a good grab. I would be anxious to hear which one of the Texans you start each week. One is the handcuff for the other, but neither is 10 points a week right now and Chales is the Chiefs whole offense, with "Captain Checkdown" as their QB. |

It's possible that I do start Foster & Tate at times - with 20 teams there's 40 starting RB spots and only 32 in the NFL, with Tate probably being better than a small handful of those (possibly including my other RB Mendenhall). Emphasis in this league is on the WR anyways. I agree though I'll miss Charles a ton, I just don't think I'd win this league without a TE. |

Oh wow, I didn't realize you were in a 20 team league. Never mind what I said then. 20 team leagues make RBs very, very thin, so yes, starting both might be an option. I would hate to be in a 20 team league. I would think by week 7 or 8, half the guys you are playing with will have given up even making roster changes because there would be too many injuries or underperforming teams. |
Re: Fantasy Football 2013 Thread
In one of my leagues, I'm being offered Trent Richardson for Andre Johnson.
Currently my running backs are Arian Foster and Alfmo with BenJarvis G-E on the bench. Do I take it? |

Nope. Just 2 RBs. I wish I had joined a flex league. Random dudes are on the FA list. I just picked up RG3! |

I think BenJarvis will begin to lose more and more carries to the Rookie, but at the same time, Arian Foster may start to gain more carries as the season moves along. Arian and Alfred are both pretty solid. I would hate to give up Andre unless you are loaded at WR. |

Can only start 3. My other WRs are Edelman, Denarius Moore, Steve Smith and Miles Austin |
Re: Fantasy Football 2013 Thread
In my PPR league ... 2 WR's, 2 RB's, Flex:
WRs: R. Wayne @ Jax (starting) J. Gordon v Cinci C. Shorts v Indi S. Johnson v Balt J. Edelman @ Atl RB's: D. Sproles (Starting) B. Powell @ Tenn L. Miller @ NO Also have Ray Rice but he is unlikely to play much on Sunday. So I need WR2, RB2 and Flex. I am leaning to B. Powell as RB2 and as Flex if Rice is full go Sunday. Still need WR2 and possibly WR as Flex. Leaning to Gordon & Shorts b/c of the PPR scoring (also weighted against yardage, 25 yds = 1 pt; TD = 6; Catch= .5) Thoughts? |

Well its a $100 each league so guys tend to stick around ;) - winner takes something like $1600. But yes the contenders lose the pack fairly quickly, the depth aspect makes it fun. Trades, waivers, and luck are all huge. We do waivers based on a bidding system so its fair. It's a bunch of buddies from about 4 different high school classes so we have a good time with it. |
Re: Fantasy Football 2013 Thread
Can only start 3.
My other WRs are Edelman, Denarius Moore, Steve Smith and Miles Austin
I stick with what you have. Edelman might be phased out when Amendola returns, Miles has injury history, Denarius isn't really WR1 for OAK any more, Steve Smith is a low end WR2. Johnson is a WR1. Alfmo & Foster are studs - Foster will pick it up just ride the wave. Richardson can be a fantasy stud no doubt, but who knows what that backfield will look like with Bradshaw in it. Maybe package Miles Austin & BGE for a RB to someone else who is desperate for a WR. Stevan Ridley, David Wilson are great buy-lows right now, i'd imagine you could get them for a Denarius/Edelman & BGE type deal. I don't think you'll be starting whatever RB you get in return over Alfmo/Foster much anyways, a WR1 is of more value than a RB3 unless you have a flex spot - in which I'd still take a Johnson/Ridley situation over a Austin/BGE one. |

I'd go Gordon for sure, but I'd be flipping a coin over Edelman/Shorts - leaning towards shorts b/c catches are only .5 in your league. |
Re: Fantasy Football 2013 Thread
Edelman against the Falcons or Larry Fitzgerald against Revis and the Bucs?
|
Re: Fantasy Football 2013 Thread
Looks like Amendola will play so I would look at Fitz.

Re: Fantasy Football 2013 Thread
lol ... second highest score of the week and lose, by .7 pts, to the highest score of the week.

<sigh>
In a two QB league, I had Brees as one of my QBs. My second QB....Andy Dalton and his stinker of a performance. Despite Brees' 44 points performance, I still lose by 23 points b/c of Andy Dalton and rest of my team. |

Good for you, I kept Fitzgerald in and he did well enough but I lost. I have come to the conclusion that my fantasy team will be nothing more than middle of the road this year because while I drafted well, the real NFL teams are not using my stud players in the right way. I have Fitzgerald, A.J. Green and Steven Ridley. All high Fantasy draft picks. Larry Fitzgerald has a middle of the road QB throwing to him, A.J. Green has a bottom tier QB throwing to him and Ridley is in RBBC hell on the Patriots. |
Re: Fantasy Football 2013 Thread
i put up 165 this week in my "big" money league on my way to 4-0, all thanks to having the first overall pick; my draft started like this:
1. (1) peterson 2. (20) brees 3. (21) graham |
