Doubt it. NFL teams will go for guys like Boyd or Bridgewater than a proven winner with size and strength questions.

I do think he's a first round talent, but sadly I think Bridgewater, Manziel, Fales, and Renner are better NFL prospects than Murray.

Yep those would be my choices. Well, to be exact I would pick the SEC winner vs the PAC 12 winner. Stanford and Oregon play soon, so that'll answer a lot of questions.

Oh man, was that Maryland score for real?

And that UVA loss was just disgusting. There is no more excuses for Mike London.

And the Hokies defense can still shut anyone down. Again locking teams down from Alabama to UNC, if only we had a offense...

Anybody catch the Baylor game? Holy cow they are a monster. 56 points at half time. 369 yards in the 1st quarter. Over 800 yards for the game.

They've done that a few times. I have watched them here and there and they're obviously tough to stop. They weren't a fluke while Griffin was there. They've built a solid program. I tuned in a few weeks ago when they were playing LA-Monroe and it was 70-7 EARLY in the 3rd qtr, then they powered down the jets and did'n't score again.

Canes stomped Georgia Tech. 5-0!

The Yellow Jackets actually came within 1 point in the early 4th quarter but Miami's D just took over the game....sacks, INTs...domination. Miami outscored them 21-6 in the last 8 minutes or so of the game. 45-30 final.

GREAT to see Penn State get embarrassed by Indiana. :)

I think Baylor is the best football team in the big 12.

Ditto for Clemson in the ACC.

VT has one of--if not the best--defenses in the country. Too bad they don't have a good offense. Could you imagine a team with A&M's offense and VT's Defense?

The excitement surrounding Manziel is just ridiculous, and this takes it to a new level. Sure, he's fun to watch on the field, but he's a f****** prick off of it. People say RG3 is an attention whore, but he's nothing compared to this kid. Murray, Boyd, Bridgewater, and McCarron are all quarterbacks I would draft before Manziel. It's not just his antics off the field, but I"m not sure his style of play will carry him in the NFL. Right now he has a huge athletic advantage over most defenses, but the talent level will be much closer in the pros. I don't know; I guess in a few years we'll see.

Johnny's going to be reallll interesting to follow when he heads to the NFL. I would just say, if I'm an NFL GM, and McCarron, Bridgewater, are off the board...well as Jack Nicholson says..."Heeeerrrrreeessss Johnny!" He makes plays, he is very elusive; more so than Griffin and Wilson. He has a capable arm for the league (similar to Jeff Garcia). He just has that..It factor...

And he'll be either a Cowboy, Texan or Eagle next year.

In other words, you think he won't stick around A&M for his junior year, and you also think he won't be the first overall pick? Who goes ahead of him?

I think he's going to be long gone by the time Houston or Dallas pick, and they've both got good quarterbacks, anyway; in Houston's case three of them. Philadelphia or Minnesota are the two most likely landing places for him, in my opinion. I think Minnesota's finally realizing that Ponder isn't their man; personally, I think that's where he goes. Manziel at Philadelphia would be scary if he pans out. Our tacklers against that little bloke would be embarrassing.

No I don't see him staying at A&M next year, he declares after this season.

I don't think he'll be the first overall pick, I think he'll be a first rounder though.

Yeah, Minnesota is another team, but I think Leslie Frazier wouldn't want him. I think theres a 50% chance he's in the NFC East next year.

On a CFB note, I hate that Texas beat OU because thats the kind of win that keeps Mack Brown around.

They did. Just didn't like that it came in a meaningful rivalry game as opposed to a regular opponent like Kansas state.

Also Clemson is sucking against BC and Baylor isn't doing that good against K State and Oregon Washington has been pretty good. Some hot cheerleaders at UW.

A lot of people think that Baylor is the best team in the Big 12. I don't agree with that. In my opinion it's Texas Tech or Texas. Kliff Kingsbury and Texas Tech are doing incredible right now, and if Texas can continue their pounding running attack when Ash returns, they'll be a legit force too. Of course, you can never count out the Sooners.

Re: Official 2013 NCAA College Football Thread
Baylor is the best
Why?

Kansas State is the first opponent they've played that you can realistically judge them off of, and while they did win, it wasn't impressive enough to call them the best right away. Baylor's other opponents? Wofford, Buffalo, Louisiana-Monroe, and West Virginia. Not exactly a formidable lineup, is it? Offensively, they've been great against weak opponents. Defensively, they've been alright against weak opponents. I'll wait 'til they play a truly talented team to give them anything.

Texas Tech is also undefeated, even though they've played a stronger schedule and haven't had their starting quarterback the whole time. You can have Baylor; I'll take the Ash-led Longhorns or the Red Raiders.

skinsfaninok 10-12-2013 10:07 PM

Because who.can stop their offense?? And also who is truly better than.them.right now ?
Because who.can stop their offense?? And also who is truly better than.them.right now ?
Kansas State slowed them down pretty well, and K-State overall isn't even that good. Baylor's offense is way overrated because their first three opponents would get killed by anyone, and WVU's defense is abysmal as well. Baylor's remaining games are: Iowa Sate, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas Tech, Oklahoma State, TCU, and Texas. Of those, Oklahoma, TCU, and Texas will shut Baylor's offense down. Tech will beat them, but not because of the defense; that will be because of Tech's superior offense. You might be saying to yourself: why does this idiot think that those teams will stop Baylor's offense? It's because Baylor is so overrated. Let me repeat their first 4 opponents again: Wofford, Buffalo, Louisiana-Monroe, and West Virginia. Fodder for any team that's at least somewhat competent.

As for who is better than Baylor right now? Alabama, Oregon, Miami, Texas, Oklahoma, Stanford, Texas A&M, LSU, Michigan, Clemson, Ohio State, Florida State, Georgia, Louisville, Missouri, UCLA, Virginia Tech, and perhaps a few others. Basically, anybody who's somebody. Baylor is way overrated, and they will be exposed in the last 5 weeks of the regular season.

It'll be interesting to see if Stoops kicks him off the team since he always does it saying he doesn't put up with that crap like the SEC schools do.

Canes trailed at half time and had to come back to beat UNC 27-23.

SO MANY injuries in the first half, but they're still undefeated. Whew, close one.

RB Duke Johnson and WR Phillip Dorsett both went down. Duke had 83 yards on 8 carries and was on a roll. He had just ripped a 59-yard run before getting hurt. Hope he's OK.
