That would be the very definition of a good problem. No way KC puts up the HOF numbers it would take to convince anyone to sit RGIII. And no way MS makes the decision in that way. That's just a wackadoodle theory.
The only number that matters is wins.

But, believe what you want
I have always respected you and your information that you share on here.

If you say that it is untrue, i believe you. Yes, I was hearing that rumor which appeared to be partly based on the Howard Eskins report, but like I said, i did not make it up. And now I can't find the thread where it was first mentioned. It doesn't matter.

The facts are right now we are in real trouble, trouble at HC, trouble at DEF, maybe trouble at QB. It's going to take a lot to sort this out....We very well may end up 0-4, and then maybe we need to start thinking about next year....

The way I figure it, if the Giants beat the Eagles, and the Broncos beat the Cowboys, the next time we take the field will be for sole possession of first place. Talk about jumping the gun.

I swear folks read the thread and then come back a few days later saying things like "I read somewhere ..." referring to an earlier post. It's like the thread creates and feeds it own rumors - all of the "We suck and do stupid things" variety of course.
^^^ I didn't know we only beat two playoff teams last year, anybody else? I knew the NFC East was a joke, which allowed us to win the division, but sounds like we really just had an especially easy schedule last season overall.

I do think RG can be salvaged as a QB, but highly highly highly doubt there's a coach currently on staff to do it. And then you still have a team that's otherwise a mess. Mike has made the team worse than the one he inherited. Way worse on defense. About the same on offense apart from the RO as a new gimmick to the league.

Would really love a coach like Lovie Smith who consistently produced a truly top defense and a disciplined team overall. Find a OC genius to work with RG under Lovie. Let that group rebuild this team.
Head coach 9 years made 3 playoffs and his win % is just over .500 add in playoff games and its .500. With such a good defense it makes them numbers look even worse.

skinsfaninok 10-01-2013 09:42 AM

Smith never had an offense in CHI so No thanks

I read somewhere that the feeling is RG can be salvaged as a QB but no one believes the current coaching staff can do so. According sources I have read, Lovie is really liked b/c he produces top defenses and builds a disciplined team. Ultimately, the plan is to find a OC genius to work with RG under Lovie and let that group rebuild this team.

Pretty sure it's solid info, I got it all from a guy who knows an oil man in Denver.

At least that source has the good sense to want to cut Garcon and bring back Gaffney.

Good to know that someone is already thinking of how to salvage our 19 regular season game QB.... Considering he is 10-9 as a starter it's about time someone said he is on the verge of becoming a bust..... lol

saden1 10-01-2013 12:38 PM

Re: Stick a fork in em', they are done!

The teams offensive struggles are obvious. There will be no cleaning of house but serious adjustments of our game plan will have to be made. The good news is we have two much needed weeks to prepare this team for the next 12 games. We did some good things in the second half vs the Raiders but you all know damn well that good teams will have you blown out by the first half.

We simply can't have this team show up in the second half of games.

I used to love Lovie but .... the last few teams he's been on he has sucked as a HC. Bring him in to replace Haslett if you like but not as a HC.

I'd prefer Gruden as our next HC.

I don't know how I feel about Gruden, assuming he wanted to come out of retirement. I think he'd love to work with RG, but that's prolly true of any potential coach.

I assume when Shanahan goes BA stays at least for awhile, so probably the big question is whether BA would want Gruden here?

Why is Gruden regarded as some guru? Did everybody just happen to erase the Bucs record and drafting after the SB? He had one season over 10 wins after the SB win, and that was coming in a division that sucked at the time.

I think it's because he had success quite young. Another reason is his constant high energy and charisma. Like it or not games (especially close ones) are often won or lost on effort and inspiration. Guys like Gruden, Pete Carroll, the Chin and Sean Peyton just to make a short list, who are totally engaged and even psyched on the sidelines seem to consistently get great performances from their players.

But your point Gruden isn't a great roster builder is pretty accurate, at least historically. Thing is, that's true of a lot of SB winning coaches i.e. they walk into a situation with a lot of the pieces, namely QB, already in place to be successful. I think it's a pretty rare brain who can both team build and coach at a championship level, withstanding the test of time.

Re: Stick a fork in em', they are done!

I like Jon Gruden but i didn't like the way he disrespected Jeff Garcia in 2008 when he benched him for Brian Griese because of something behind the scenes. Griese sucked and it was only when the team went like 0-3 with Griese that Gruden went back to Jeff Garcia, who still took the team to the playoffs...

Re: Stick a fork in em', they are done!

Gruden with the Raiders; Very good.

Gruden with the Bucs; average at best. The super bowl he won was with all of Dungy's players, and against the team he had just coached of course he knew their tendencies.

Gruden is a decent coach in my opinion.
