Hall better be more than just talking. Dez equals our entire receiving team in TD's and has more catches than our top 2 targets (Garcon/Hank). It has been a late trend to see Hall step up. Looking at the stats..
http://www.nfl.com/teams/washingtonredskins/statistics?team=WAS It seems that JReed hasn't logged THAT many minutes in games to have dwarfed Freds production. What gives? Did Davis play Detroit or Packers? I want to say we (Kyle/Rob) can give it to our TE's more but we rotate so many of them. What really alarms me is the lack of WR production. Robinson is nothing. Moss barely sees the field and is our 3rd top guy. Sadden that we can't get a boost from Morgan. All that changes Sunday |

I think people are just basically writing Hank off because he really hasn't shown he's reliable yet

Moss is also on pace for 60 catches.

We will most likely adjust Riley to cover Witten in our base like we did last year. |

I agree, until we have safeties that are pro bowlers, I will take Reed, he may be slow, but he has good instincts and is a fairly sure tackler. |

I dont care about stats or rankings or any of that up to this point. They are so skewed when it comes to comparing us to them. Zero common opponents so far.
This game comes down to preparedness. We have had two weeks. They have had one. They probably have a bad taste in their mouths because of the tough loss to Denver. There defense has been all over the map this year, but ours has been lousy for the entire year minus a three quarter stretch vs a qb who is currently unemployed. Griff has got to be sharp and KS has to be on his game with the playcalling. Im hoping that pure hatred for the cowboys fuels the defense to play above their heads. We CANNOT come out of the gates slow for the fifth game in a row. This is the game that puts us rite back in the thick of it. Skins 31 Boys 30 Kai kicks the game winner after a fast and furious one minute drill by Griff n company. The finish will not be for the weak at heart! HTTR! |

I dont know what kind of witches brew they use to give us the third best pass blocking efficiency of all nfl teams, but it seems a tad bit hokey to me. |
Re: It's DALLASS WEEK 2013 (Part 1)!!!
Well, the PFF ranking backs up what GTripp said about the oline getting its assignments correct. But yeah, hard to see it on game day. The line breaks down quickly under pressure, especially the right side. And run blocking isn't what it was last year I don't see us getting to the 2nd level on linebackers etc, which is kind of the idea behind ZBS.

GTripp practices witchcraft too.

Yeah 100 some catches is great. I've made an error looking into stats and making bad choices of words. For that, I goofed. I wanted to articulate I haven't been impressed with our WR's up to now but no duh really- the team has played awful. How much has been stat padding in winless games? Whatever I don't care. I need to be more optimistic they will win. I need these cowboys to lose. |

of course missing on them would be bad...
I agree -- sprinkling in Helu early might help, so that it isn't clear whether he's a runner or a receiving back. It could also help slow down the edge rush a bit as well by forcing Dallas to account for a back out in the flats. If the Redskins can establish that as a real threat, it ought to open up some room in the middle for Alfmo, and it might cause the DBs to come up closer to the line, allowing Robinson and Garcon to blow past them (again). I will say this, if we go down to Dallas and win, JJ won't be spouting any nonsense about moral victories, that's for sure. |
Re: It's DALLASS WEEK 2013 (Part 1)!!!
I disagree, I would go with rushing play first. 2 or 3 out of last four games, if I'm correct, I think we went passing on first plays and it ended with 3 and out for us on our first drive. Morris is like a diesel truck, might as well use him. Also it will help set up play actions easier, which should come with positive results given the fact Cowboys' secondary suck.

Oakland: 1st and 10 at WSH 20 (Shotgun) A.Morris left guard to WAS 20 for no gain (B.Sanford). 2nd and 10 at WSH 20 (Shotgun) A.Morris up the middle to WAS 22 for 2 yards (P.Sims, B.Sanford). 3rd and 8 at WSH 22 (Shotgun) R.Griffin pass incomplete short middle to S.Moss. 4th and 8 at WSH 22 S.Rocca punts 51 yards to OAK 27, Center-N.Sundberg. End around 1st and 10 at WSH 30 (Shotgun) A.Morris left end to WAS 39 for 9 yards (L.Delmas; S.Tulloch). 2nd and 1 at WSH 39 R.Griffin pass short left to P.Garcon to WAS 36 for -3 yards (N.Fairley; L.Delmas). 3rd and 4 at WSH 36 (Shotgun) R.Griffin pass short right to L.Hankerson pushed ob at WAS 42 for 6 yards (C.Houston). 1st and 10 at WSH 42 (Shotgun) R.Griffin right end pushed ob at WAS 49 for 7 yards (G.Quin). 2nd and 3 at WSH 49 R.Griffin pass incomplete deep left to L.Paulsen. 3rd and 3 at WSH 49 (Shotgun) R.Griffin pass incomplete short middle to A.Robinson (C.Houston). 4th and 3 at WSH 49 S.Rocca punts 42 yards to DET 9, Center-N.Sundberg, fair catch by M.Spurlock. GB: 1st and 10(Shotgun) R.Griffin pass short middle to L.Hankerson to WAS 34 for 14 yards (B.Jones, C.Matthews). 1st and 10 at WSH 34 (Shotgun) A.Morris right end pushed ob at WAS 40 for 6 yards (A.Hawk). 2nd and 4 at WSH 40 (Shotgun) A.Morris left tackle to WAS 40 for no gain (J.Jolly; B.Jones). 3rd and 4 at WSH 40 (Shotgun) R.Griffin pass incomplete deep middle to J.Morgan [B.Jones]. 4th and 4 at WSH 40 S.Rocca punts 25 yards to GB 35, Center-N.Sundberg, out of bounds. Philly : lets forget how we started there! I actually thought we started with more runs, but the initial pass play was usually successful, probably because the defense assumed run. |

Ah I guess I should have checked out the stats before I posted. For some reason I thought we actually went 3 and out on first drive. Regardless, my belief stays same. We should run first.

The offense had 3 points against Oakland at the half. Green Bay and Philly have pitiful defenses yet we couldn't barely get a first down the entire first half. Those are the only stats that matter. Putting points on the board and winning the game. All the other crap means nothing. We need to score this week if we want to win. |

I cannot say I agree, nor does the recent history suggest it would be wise to just try to pound the ball our of the gate. Remember, teams still believe, and with reason, that RGIII isn't going to take off running, so they have been focusing on stopping Alfmo at the line. Unless RGIII is going to start taking off on designed runs, which I still doubt, even though he's healthier, we can probably expect teams to continue to try to do this. Which is why softening up folks with high percentage passes early (not exclusively, but enough to show we can hurt them with it) makes sense to me. Having said that, nothing would make me happier than seeing Alfmo run right through the Dallas D on his first carry, like Portis did on his first carry as a Redskin. |

I agree with what you said except for the bolded part. I think we see a renewed Gryphon after the bye, including more designed runs. Not a ton of runs, mind you, but enough to make the defense think about that reality. |

I posted that, because I was wrong too, I thought our first play in each game was a run that was stopped. But our first down passes were fairly successful. |

Don't get me wrong, I am not saying I don't want to see more designed runs -- I think it would be great and would really keep defenses guessing as was the case last year. I also agree that we wouldn't want to see too many of them either. I am hoping that Romo will follow his 500 yard, 5 TD game with a turd of a performance -- more along the lines of 5 INTs like we also know he's capable of. |
