Re: 34th Overall Pick
Would live to take best available olineman with this pick, but...watching the Orange Bowl and would love to see Sammy Watkins across from Garcon. Dude is flat out ballin' and looks clearly like the best player on the field. He is electric.

He will be LOOOOONG gone, before pick 34. |

I wholeheartedly agree.....but Bruce Allen should only draft him if the Redskins keep the 3-4....I'm almost certain that Riley would be the starting MLB if they go with a 4-3. |

Yeah, Garcon and Watkins would be a deadly duo. But like EARTHQUAKE said, he'll be long gone by the time we pick. He'll almost certainly be taken in the top 10. However, if you want to go the dynamic WR route, Odell Beckham Jr will probably be available in the 2nd. As a bonus, he's also a really good KR/PR. We may get Lee though

[YT]92rauLT3enE[/YT]
He or Jarvis Landry would be good picks. Both great WRs and have excellent hands. |

No we won't. He will be gone before we pick also. Cleveland might take Watkins in the top part of round one and Pitt will be looking for a WR as well. |

Yeah Watkins is a manchild. He'll be way gone before we pick. |
Re: 34th Overall Pick
My list of potential picks at 34 as of right now consist of:
WR Odell Beckham Jr., LSU WR Jarvis Landry, LSU ILB Shane Skov, Stanford CB Darquze Dennard, Michigan State (sp?) DE Stehpon Tuitt, ND DT Anthony Johnson, LSU TE Austin Serafin-Jenkins, Washington OT/G Cyril Richardson, Baylor ILB CJ Mosley, Alabama Wouldn't be mad if anyone of these guys was the pick. |

Re: 34th Overall Pick
Unwise move, in my opinion. If I'm the Texans, I keep that pick and take Bridgewater. McNair said, "Maybe we'll trade down and still get a quarterback that can do the job and get an outstanding defensive player." Perhaps so, but Houston needs an outstanding offensive player, namely QB, much more than an outstanding defensive player.[/QUOTE
Schaub has had some good years. Is he done just after on bad year? I just don't get that. I would consider coaching him up, trading down and getting a few players. But it would be real tough to pass on such an accurate polished passer as Bridgewater. Or teaming up Watt and Cushing with Clowney. They have some hard decisions to make. |

I think a lot of Schaub's problems last year were due to playcalling and Duane Brown's injury. But he's already peaked, and I think even O'Brien would have trouble getting him to perform like he did in 2012. And he's already 32, so even if O'Brien would work his QB magic on Schaub and get him back to a Pro Bowl level, it would only last a few more years. Passing up a QB like Bridgewater would be a huge mistake, even if it meant getting a player like Clowney or Dennard. The QB position is the most important, and Bridgewater would immediately fill that hole; plus, being only 21, they would have a franchise QB longterm. If McNair wants more high draft picks to take impact defensive players, he needs to trade Schaub away. |

With a few tweaks they can be right back where they were. To me they're a win now type of team and that's why I think about keeping Schaub, coaching him up and add a few pieces. He's still in his early 30's so age would not be a factor. But as you said, real tough to pass on Bridgewater. |

Perhaps they should trade the first overall pick this year for two first rounders: a high draft pick this year and another high pick next year to take Jameis Winston when he declares. Then they could draft McNair's "outstanding defensive player", probably Clowney or Dennard, this year, and still get a franchise QB either next year or the year after. That would be a big gamble, but it might pay off. On second thought, screw that. Just keep the first overall and take Bridgewater and be done with it. |

So many teams need a WR and Cleveland has two first rounders, one of those QBs will drop, or maybe they send us a two for Cousins, who knows. |

It's funny how a couple months can change things, if someone had said "let's trade Cousins for Josh Gordon" early in the season the majority of fans would've said no, but now if the same question was asked the majority of fans would probably say yes. He really improved his stock the second half of the season, and especially now with the first team All-Pro selection. |
Re: 34th Overall Pick
People bitch about the Offensive line all year and than yell to draft WR's with our first pick. lol.
New coach will not want to use this tiny ass offensive line we have. Event the younger ones we used picks on might not make the cut with the new scheme. Need to go heavy on offensive line for our franchise QB. |

Re: 34th Overall Pick
Other than the WR from the Bengals, I like the combination of a flashy signing or two suggested as well as several solid signings. Kinda surprised by them not talking of bringing back Orakpo, but if his contract offers get crazy out of control like Krugers last year I'm okay with him walking or maybe doing a restricted tag offer for him. But if some of these came to fruition it could provide more flexibility with our draft options to focus primarily on oline and dline.

But I agree and I fell we will have at least one OL signed in FA and one in the draft. (Hoping for Alex Mack myself), I think what everyone else is saying is that if you get someone like Marquise Lee to drop to 34, take him. Myself I just wanna know who our coach is and who we sign in FA before I decide who I want for the draft: My dream Free Agents: 1. Jairus Byrd (Would settle for TJ Ward also) 2. Alterraun Verner (Would settle for Sam Shields or Talib) 3. Alex Mack 4. Jeremy Maclin (Would be cheaper than Decker although Decker is the better player) 5. ANY PUNTER!!!! 2. |
Re: 34th Overall Pick
The Bengals are stacked at WR, I would imagine there might be a FA in there. If Gruden is hired he just bring one of them, Green, Jones, Sanu, Hawkins, Tate.

Re: 34th Overall Pick
There should be a early 2nd round pick that scouts give a first round grade.....we should be able to land a ggood player.

Re: 34th Overall Pick
I have a sneaky feeling we may wind up switching back to a 4-3.If this is the case a 4-3 OLB becomes a pretty big need.
I will be very disappointed if we don't make a strong push for Byrd in FA. The safeties in this draft look kind of weak and we haven't had a centerfielder type FS since Taylor passed. So much will depend on the coach that comes in. |

He alone would upgrade our secondary from bad to respectable. And outside of Pryor, Buchanon, and Clinton-Dix, all who will probably be gone by the 3rd round, the safety class is pretty weak. So assuming we don't take a safety with our first pick, Byrd needs to be a top priority. |
Re: 34th Overall Pick
34th pick should be spent on either RT or Front Seven. Best available from that group

I agree. But safety is a huge need, so we basically have 3 options: overpay Byrd and drastically improve our secondary, take a safety with our first pick in this years' draft and miss out on some good OL that will be available, or sign a stopgap in FA and hope Rambo, Thomas, Meriweather, and whoever else we have is good enough to get by. Berry makes 10.2 million a year, Polamulu makes 10.1, and Weddle makes 8.6. So I doubt Byrd would settle for much less than 10. And we have a lot of cap space, so I'm in favor of signing him. |

True, and it could be wiser, since Byrd might get outrageous with his salary demands. But Byrd in a Redskins uniform would be pretty sweet. |

That is not really out of the box at all, I am fine with Thomas starting at SS next year, but what about FS? And CB? We need both of those positions. And whose to say this "quality" DB/S will be any good and where are you gonna draft him at? This draft isn't as deep with secondary talent as last year. |
