Yes, duh. 4 good years of prime left. |
Re: DeSean Jackson meeting with the Redskins on Monday
Another point we sign D. Jacks it has the possibility to change how Divisional teams draft.
|
Re: DeSean Jackson meeting with the Redskins on Monday
I'm trying to sit on the fence and the more I type a post is the more I want us to sign this guy just makes sense for the right $$$ of course.

Hahaa sorry man. It just wouldn't surprise me with what some people say on here. |
Re: DeSean Jackson meeting with the Redskins on Monday
Terrible idea for us. He'll whine when he doesn't get enough balls thrown to him. Bruce and Dan should stay away!

Re: DeSean Jackson meeting with the Redskins on Monday
Just saw an article about us being the front runner for DJ due to us playing the Eagles every year. Trying to find it now.

An interesting ESPN video about him / his father & family. Paints a good picture of him, doesn't much get into his reported off-field associations. |

Tanard is the only Jackson I care about.
So the 2 NFL coaches he's had, Reid and Kelly, both shy away from him? Not good.
Well I don't know why, but Kelly was basically promising DJ that the Eagles weren't going to release him. I read that DJ wanted to stay and continued to ask Kelly if the Eagles were going to release him and that'd he be hurt if the Eagles decided to cut him loose. To which Kelly insisted (on more than one occasion) that the Eagles had no intentions of releasing him. So I'm not sure what's up with that. |
Just said the same thing Matt. Our offense would be terrifying

get him in here on a 1 year deal, please
So the 2 NFL coaches he's had, Reid and Kelly, both shy away from him? Not good.
I think Kelly as a guy with 1yr of NFL experience has to be discounted a bit, as for Reid they have 3mill less then us in salary cap room and about 3million more on WRs than us. Does that in and of itself mean there aren't cautions to be seen, just that teams have lots to consider with a high value player like Jackson. |
Re: DeSean Jackson meeting with the Redskins on Monday
Unless the Oline play changes drastically, which it might with a new coaching staff but I am not betting on it (mainly because the talent doesn't seem that much better than last year), that offense wouldn't be that great.
Scheme can go a long way as we saw in 2012. I expect under Gruden we'll see a lot more 3 step drops with quick passes. |

If we just had draft him instead of D. Thomas this be a non-issue.

Where do you want me to start on the free agency list? Should I start with Deon Sanders and work down? This team isn't remotely close to contending. There are much greater needs than 1 WR. If we were stacked (likef 49ers/Seattle), I could see the move, as it is, this is just a band aid. Seems this team is never going to learn. (or its fans) |
Re: DeSean Jackson meeting with the Redskins on Monday
get him in here on a 1 year deal, please
This I wouldn't mind. There is 0% chance he's coming in for the "Vet Min". None. But I would take a chance on him with a 1 year deal; so that if somethings not working out you can just cut him and be done with it. I have always loathed Jackson, but there is no denying he's a talent and would be a major addition to this offense. That said; I don't want to sign him to a long term deal and if he ends up doing something stupid, that money then affects our ability to resign Kerrigan, Orakpo, Griffin, Williams, ect. So I wouldn't hate this move, as long as its a 1-2 year deal (frontloaded). Anything beyond that, no thanks. I voted "yes, only for the vet min" but I really mean, "only on a 1 year deal" |

You keep saying this team is if its the same staff every year. And we havent even signed him yet let alone have a visit. |

This isn't the management that brought in Sanders/Archuleta etc. Jackson is not 33 and done. We didn't trade a pick to a division rival for a used up qb. Heck we don't even know if we overpaid him yet. It is an opportunity to bring in a playmaker, a dynamic returner, a competent 2nd WR to compliment Garcon and Roberts. Maybe the organization makes a solid effort to bring him in and pays an appropriate price to seal the deal. Lets let this FO have a reasonable time before we condemn them for sins of redskins past. |

As his college coach Ted Tedford, even Michael Silver a Cal Alumni and known homer dislikes him. Here's something he wrote in 2008 during his rookie season when he wrote for Yahoo: DeSean Jackson, that was so cute the way you announced your alma mater as Long Beach Poly during the Sunday Night Football telecast of the Eagles-Giants game, ignoring your three-year stint at the University of California. Not only did you manage to diss the nation's No. 1 public university in a very public way, but you also – quite shockingly – drew attention to your favorite person: DeSean Jackson. Yes, I know, that whole selfishness thing at Cal was totally overblown. Even though the coaching staff once punished you for a violation of team rules by forcing you to learn the names of each of your teammates, I'm sure they were just tripping. But I have a feeling that after Sunday's conspicuous disavowal of your Golden Bear ties, many of my fellow alums – including the ones who blasted me on message boards when I referred to you as "MeSean" before the draft – are probably rethinking their devotion. Congratulations on another good game in a successful rookie season. And, from the bottom of my blue-and-gold heart, thank you for leaving early. |

Re: DeSean Jackson meeting with the Redskins on Monday
This isn't a vinny move, not close.
If you to call out a vinny look at the stupidity going on with the raiders. Vinny Mckenzie, paying premium price for 30+ year old players while let their young talent walk. |

I agree here. But in today's NFL a team can have a one year turn around. With some better coaching, add a explosive proven wr, better teams play, some luck in the draft and an improved Griffin, wouldn't you say we could win the East? I think that's not a far off assumption. |

Getting d jax would also be a plus in regards to our first draft pick where we could focus on tackle or secondary at 34.
|
Re: DeSean Jackson meeting with the Redskins on Monday
Not every fan is going to be excited if we sign him, you can't please everyone. I know I will be extremely excited if we get this done and it also gives us a chance to have a very year. GET IT DONE!! HTTR!
