Re: Giants Game Negatives
merriweather has not looked good for the 2 games he has been back. no one in the secondary has looked good but he is still our best secondary player imo with amerson.
merriweather and amerson are the only 2 secondary starters we have that might be starters on 5 other teams tops. ------------------------ Receivers Number on roster: 8 Total percentage of cap space: 14.96 Total cap value: $19,282,219 NFL average: $13,283,803 Biggest cap hit: Pierre Garcon ($9.7 million) Underpaid: Believe it or not, DeSean Jackson. He only counts $4.25 million against the cap this year. There are 30 receivers who have a higher cap figure this season. This is the result of concerns over his work ethic, etc. But as far as on the field, Jackson represents value. Looking to the future: Garcon has three years left on his contract, but it wouldn’t be surprising to see him want an extension before it’s over. Both Garcon and Jackson’s contracts end in 2016. Leonard Hankerson’s rookie deal ends after this season. He has a lot to prove. Washington Redskins salary-cap breakdown: Offense - ESPN Cornerback Number on roster: 7 Total percentage of cap space: 6.1 Total cap value: $7,873,638 NFL average: $12,316,626 Biggest cap hit: Tracy Porter ($2,800,000) Underpaid: DeAngelo Hall is coming off his best season in Washington and will count only $2.1 million against the cap – 55 corners will occupy more cap space. Looking to the future: E.J. Biggers is the only corner who will be a free agent after this season. But it wouldn’t be surprising to see them draft someone else, in case Hall’s play slips that much or Porter doesn’t help or just to add depth. Richard Crawford still has to prove his knee is sound and that he’ll continue improving. Same with Chase Minnifield. Safety Number on roster: 7 Total percentage of cap space: 2.91 Total cap value: $3,746,719 NFL average: $8,237,006 Biggest cap hit: Brandon Meriweather ($1 million) Underpaid: No one here is underpaid, though if Ryan Clark can coax out another good year and help groom some young safeties, then his $635,000 cap hit will qualify. But they also have to have young safeties worth grooming. Looking to the future: Meriweather and Clark have one-year deals, which means the Redskins could well be in the same position next offseason in looking for starting safeties. Of course, they could still draft one (I would) and hope that between the rookie and the two young holdovers from last year, Bacarri Rambo and Phillip Thomas, that they’ll find one starter and then only need to find one more. Thomas must prove that he’s not only healthy but can move as he did before the Lisfranc injury. Rambo has to earn a job this year. Neither holdover is a given to be a starter – in 2014 or beyond. For the first time in a long time, I cut the game off halfway through the third quarter. I couldn't take it anymore! It's kind of like a movie that I've seen over and over again. I know what's going to happen, but I still think if I watch the movie again, it will have some sort of alternate ending!

Gruden's comments after the game about how this was a "wakeup call". What? That's a perfect example of the delusional arrogance that has seeped into every corner of this franchise, from the owner to the coaches to the players and sadly to a chunk of the fan base as well. And certainly the local media. Coach, you were 1-2 coming into the game...what did you need a freaking wake up call for? Is the sky in your world purple and were the Redskins 3-0 in some bizarre fantasy reality? You beat Jacksonville...a pathetic excuse for an NFL franchise. That's it. That was this franchise's ONE measly win going back almost a calendar year. Most local high school teams would probably look like world beaters against Jacksonville. Arrrrrrrrrrgh. |

The ints came after we got behind, because our defense cant stop anyone but the jags, even if we had the broncos offense. Cousins played great against Philthy, we lost because the d gave up more than 30. Cousins played bad against NJGiants, we lost because the d gave up more than 30.
Nice graphics but Conventional football wisdom knows if you give the opposing team a short field it kills the defense. What Cousins did wasn't fair to a defense that was already effing up. Turnovers determine the outcome of most NFL games. I test my case in this argument. Cousins hair was on fire lady night. |

it is still early into the season.
we have some good football ahead of us. new coach, injuries, short week after a brutal game physically and mentally, bad DC .... we are going to have more bad games than good games. |

If you had watched the game last night you would have that when the giants got on a roll, theycould have scored from 99 yards away.
The defense stunk it up when cousins played well in Philthy, they stunk when cousins played poorly at fedex. Your attempt to blame cousins for The d last night is weak and PATHETIC. I am not surprised you dont understand the funny pic i posted, either. |

11 days to get healthy and shock the world. http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-shutdown-corner/redskins-selling-expired-world-cup-budweiser-beers-at-fedex-field-161517369.html article above about skins selling old beer this season. this has to violate some distributor contract with budweiser. reason no. 3,437 on why you shouldnt bother spending a ton of money going to Fed Ex ........ yesh. who ever heads their food and beverage service needs to be fired and immediately replaced by the guy who heads the food and beverage for nats games. not only do they have awesome lcoal food places - bens chili bowl etc - they have awesome beer selection and a monthly craft beer lottery to see which distributor is featured. he also works tirelessly and closely with local and national bars and restaurants to continue to develop the area around nats park to make it more fan friendly and stuff worth spending money on. |

I have had a Skins magnet on the back of my car for years. I actually took it off today before leaving for work. Living up here in giant/eagle land and im embarrased! The Snyder regime has finally stripped me of any pride i had left from what i watched this team do oh so long ago.

Re: Giants Game Negatives
They are like an old dog. You have known for a while they are sick, but you love them so much that you ignore it. You keep hoping they will miraculously get better. You think about how when that dog was young - how good it was - how it ran faster and jumped higher and played harder than any other dog in the neighborhood, but now it has to be put down. So sad.

in contrast, my orioles bird car magnet lasted about a week before someone stole it. but now is the time to waive your skins flag high. now is the time to stick with the team. 2-3 years from now we can look back and say this was a moment of truth - are you a skins fan or are fairweather. i know we have sucked a long time. we have sucked in some many different ways. anyone who has stuck around this long cant be called a fairweather fan but this is when we double down. if we cant beat the seahawks, lets hurt them. lets punch them in their mother fuking mouths. I don't understand how the Redskins can be the most penalized team, in the span of what seems like 10 years and 4 different coaches and entire roster turnovers... Seriously, can someone explain to me how that is even possible? It defies the law of averages...

Re: Giants Game Negatives
I'm sorry but people need to get the f*ck over this loss. I've seen this team do worst and be in worst situations.
We had a ton of people injured, on top of this being a short week, with a rookie coach and a somewhat unproven QB. Yes a lot of people f*cked up, but moving on hopefully 10 days of rest can get some people healthy. I'm not happy about the beating, but if you start talking about "oh I should be following another team" then maybe it's time that you start doing that and quit crying about it here. |
