How is Fangio gonna be DC in Oakland?
Rumor around here has Del Rio will be asking Trestmann to be his OC and Fangio his DC.
Raiders don't have the war chest that we have. If we want him, we will get him. |

Tarver will probably go back to SF with Tomsula. Del Rio and Fangio friendship supposedly go back . That's what Mark Ibanez who is usually pretty spot on mentioned tonight. |
Re: 2015 Coaching Carousel
Well, doesn't Scot McC also has a connection with Fangio? A lot of the studs on Vic's D were acquired by McC. Also, McC also emphasizes communication - did the two of them over lap at all in SF?

Re: 2015 Coaching Carousel
McC left SF in 2010, Fangio came with Harbaugh in 2011 via Baalke.

Weird. I could have sworn Tarver just signed a new deal with Oakland. Oh well |

Bill Callahan as our OL, Fangio as our DC and Donatell as DB coaches would be nice, Callahan does have the BA/Raiders connection.

Rex Ryan is an excellent communicator, both internally and externally. Meaning within team and he's great with the media. He knows how to take pressure off of players and onto himself. Players and coaches will do anything for the guy. Of course, I'm not saying this is all 100% but overall he's simply a great leader. I know the results haven't always been there, though I would argue they've overachieved at times. Certainly not this past year I wanted to hate Rex Ryan, because of who his dad is. More I got to know him though, I'm totally impressed All that said, he's got to improve from EJ Manuel if he wants to truly have success. I think EJ is actually worse than Geno Smith |

A fox has shape-shifted into a bear. Now I've seen it all. The Bears got better. Any coach who can get Tebow to the playoffs is doing something right. |

If you want to feel better about the Skins, watch the Jim Tomsula introduction to the 49ers.....I would be SO pissed if I was a Niners fan right now.

On the 49er's official message board, they made this sound last night like this was basically a done deal. Very excited and hope this is the case. Mike deserves another chance in the NFL after the disastrous time he had here.... |
Re: 2015 Coaching Carousel
Kinda funny the best Mike can do now is coordinator.
Maybe his time here did leave him a little toxic after all. |

Why on earth would Mike take a coordinator position?

Re: 2015 Coaching Carousel
Why on earth would Mike take a coordinator position?
I think Mike would take a OC job with San Fransisco because he knows that is where he would have the best shot at becoming a HC again if the Jim Tomsula hiring is the disaster that most people think it is. |
Re: 2015 Coaching Carousel
Why on earth would Mike take a coordinator position?
Because nobody has offered him a HC job. |

Re: 2015 Coaching Carousel
Why on earth would Mike take a coordinator position?
I think it is humility, really. He wants to be in the NFL and he knows this is a way that he gets to do what he wants, as well as prepare him for a chance to be HC again. He just turned 61 - he still can coach for at least 9 more years if he leaves the game when he's 70 like Dick Lebeau |
