Re: Nfl draft round 2 and 3 thread.
CBS Sports had him rated at 6th best in his position.

Re: Nfl draft round 2 and 3 thread.
He is also going to play OLB.
|
Re: Nfl draft round 2 and 3 thread.
3rd round I'd go Oline again
|
Re: Nfl draft round 2 and 3 thread.
Did we just replace Jarvis Jenkins with Jarvis Jenkins? I kinda don't get it. And I guess we were looking DE in the draft and had Leonard Williams in our face...?
We have a pretty decent group of pass rushers. Much better than the o-line. With our questions at QB, i absolutely love the Scherff pick. We still got what appears to be a potentially great D-lineman, and there is absolutely nobody like Scherff left in this draft. |

Yup he has versatility that we need. |

I fucking love Scot McCloughan!

I don't know but it wouldn't surprise me. AJ Cann from SC would be a good call |

Gotta agree |

Hell yea. Unless there is a cb or s that is considered a steal there. |
Re: Nfl draft round 2 and 3 thread.
Why did the jets draft ahead of us?
|
Re: Nfl draft round 2 and 3 thread.
What? For the skins?
Uhhh yeah. He's not playing for anyone else lol. But yeah they will move him all around and most likely will be a pass rush specialist all over, but he was announced as a LB not a DE when the Redakins selected him. That's what we declared when we made the pick. |

Damn, why are you sh*tting all over this pick? |

Chico's opinions are consistently so far in left field that I really can't take his posts seriously anymore.

Re: Nfl draft round 2 and 3 thread.
talk about a harsh write up for Carolina Panthers pick:
image: http://walterfootball.com/images/fball/panthersb_logo.gif Carolina Panthers: Devin Funchess, TE, Michigan: MILLEN Grade Eww... This wouldn't be a truly terrible pick if the Panthers simply selected Devin Funchess at their spot in the second round, but they surrendered third- and a sixth-rounders in the process? Uhh... why!? Funchess is a man without a true position. He's too slow to be a receiver, and there were better wideouts available. He's too small to be a tight end, and there were better tight ends available. This selection makes no sense on so many levels. Read more at Live 2015 NFL Draft Grades - WalterFootball.com |

You'd think we drafted a f*cking kicker with those comments. |

Huh? What's with the comparison to Jenkins? Completely different players. |
Re: Nfl draft round 2 and 3 thread.
Hmm I guess the thinking is Michael Bennett type role...he is a bad ass for Seattle. Exact same size...well I would welcome that fo sure

Re: Nfl draft round 2 and 3 thread.
Can't wait until Jason Reid goes on the radio to sh*t on the Redskins pick.

Re: Nfl draft round 2 and 3 thread.
his 10/20/40 and broad jump same as orakpo. less reps/vertical, better shuttle/3cone.
i imagine the thought is he'll be put into that olb slot if he's up to it. |
Re: Nfl draft round 2 and 3 thread.
He can play any position on the DL.
|
Re: Nfl draft round 2 and 3 thread.
for bpa we do seem to be picking needs pretty heavily. maybe that's just how things have worked out, but so far we've filled the gaping hole at RT and orakpo's hole at OLB. 3rd might be RG or FS (or 3rd down back)?
|
Re: Nfl draft round 2 and 3 thread.
He can play any position on the DL.
i need to hear where they plan to use him later tonight. i don't think you'd ask him to play NT though at 270, at least not on 1st and 2nd down. |
Re: Nfl draft round 2 and 3 thread.
Someone on Twitter just made this observation about Smith's and Kerrigan's combines:
Ryan Kerrigan 6-4, 267 lbs Vertical: 33.5 Bench reps: 31 Broad jump: 10'02" 20 yard shuttle: 4.39 3-cone: 7.18 40: 4.67 Preston Smith 6-5, 271 lbs Vertical: 34 Bench reps: 24 Broad jump: 10'01" 20 yard shuttle: 4.28 3-cone: 7.07 40: 4.71 |

Yup, thats what I meant. He isn't gonna play NT much in the NFL, but if you need a rush from that spot, he is big enough. |

That's because drafting BPA is a fantasy. It rarely happens in the first three rounds. This draft has proven that fact with need pick after need pick. |

Seems on tape he just doesn't seem like an olb, lacks speed and his body seems more as a leverage dline type. He just looked bigger on film, closer to 300 lbs. didn't know that small...I'm excited McC is all about the trenches. This team dynamic is gonna be a 180 on defense from the last 9-10 years |

Or our BPA have been needs also. Scherff was rated number 3 by Scot as far as BPA behind Cooper and Fowler, both gone, Scherff was the pick. I can only imagine that Smith was the same BTW Smith reminds me a lot of Pernell McPhee, I think that could be his floor. |
Re: Nfl draft round 2 and 3 thread.
Is it driving anyone else crazy how far behind the broadcast is behind the actual picks? I get it's a TV event, but make it up between the rounds or something. I want picks as soon as the teams pull the trigger!
