that deal is terrible. bradford just isn't good. normally i'd be happy, cause f the iggles, but when we've got a QB to sign, that's an awful comparable.

Colt McCoy Contract, Salary Cap Details & Breakdowns | Spotrac
Thanks for that link. I'd advocate resigning him for at least a two year deal if he is resigned to be a career backup. I doubt he has a lot of other options at this point. |
Re: NFL things and stuff.....
he still thinks he's a starter, so he'll come back, but only if there's not an offer with more playing time out there.
|
Re: NFL things and stuff.....
I think it's crucial to get McCoy back under contract. I always agreed w/ Joe Gibbs as he believed that the 2nd most important guy on your team is the backup QB. McCoy runs the offense pretty well and my guess is this is the best place for him. There is no market out there for him to be a starter.

Re: NFL things and stuff.....
The Rams have got to be the most mediocre franchise no one is talking about. And I'm still amazed that Jeff Fisher has and will continue (apparently) to have a job. Kroenke is making Snyder look like a model owner.

Re: NFL things and stuff.....
I guess anyone could point to Flacco and say, "Ayyy, well he DID win a Super Bowl." but I just never saw him make any throws and be like, "Wow, I'm blown away." Before his offensive line aged, I remember watching him sit back there, make a sandwich, toast the bread, wait for it to cool down and then the seven minutes later his receivers had to get open, he'd throw the ball.
|
Re: NFL things and stuff.....
From the article:
"Flacco has the whole #QBWinz argument going for him because he's had the benefit of playing for some really good Ravens teams, but let's face it, we're now comparing Joe Flacco, Sam Bradford, and Kirk Cousins ... we're all losing here." I really really really want to see Cousins go all Drew Brees on these dumb MF'ers. |

Flacco got a lot of money – a reported $40 million signing bonus with a record-setting average salary of $21.1 million over the next six years. But General Manager Ozzie Newsome may be the last one laughing, and he feels quite good about locking Flacco up – even at that price. “Joe is our quarterback, and we’re proud to be able to say that. Teams struggle with the quarterback position,” Newsome said. “Philly signing [Sam] Bradford and Washington having to put the franchise tag on [Kirk] Cousins [are examples]. They don’t have the resume that Joe has, and for us to be moving forward with a guy that has eight years and won a Super Bowl and been in three AFC championship games, it speaks volumes.” Ozzie Newsome Compares Joe Flacco's Contract To Other NFL Quarterbacks shot 2 - ravens decided to double down on their twitter https://twitter.com/Ravens?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor redskins fire back - i guess, i dont understand but i dont speak twitter .. And i kinda put a good portion of blame on ozzie and his draft picks .. outside of cj mosley, he has absolutely struck out in the first 2 rounds - perriman, elam, brown, kindle, cody, oher .. jimmy smith is meh, torrey is gone ... kruger is gone ... not a good look. |

Legit good teams don't say stuff like that. The Ravens will be horse shit this year; book it! |

Re: NFL things and stuff.....
I thought Newsome was classier than that, guess not. Odd move on his part.
|
Re: NFL things and stuff.....
it's probably a case of him saying what he meant instead of what he should have said. at the end of the day it's meaningless. just words, and we almost never play them anyways. i'm not sure why he's got a hard on for the NFC east though, maybe it's just recency.
|

Was a strange tweet, hopefully its motivation for Kurt.

It is two big markets that he is squeezed in-between. |
Re: NFL things and stuff.....
We play them in 2016 (in Baltimore). Hope Cousins throws all over their secondary.
|
Re: NFL things and stuff.....
Ozzie really surprised me by that whole thing. Flacco has been waaay over paid, compared to his production, so Oz is trying to "justify" the move.
It's a weak argument and a poor choice on his part. |
Re: NFL things and stuff.....
the ravens have really sacrificed a lot of overall team talent to keep flacco paid. his contract really helped blow that SB team apart. they just didn't have enough money to pay anyone else.
of course, what's the alternative? keep the team and ditch the QB in a QB league? just bad circumstances. if ozzie had drafted perfectly it would have been less of an issue, but he hasn't done as well as he needed to there. |
Re: NFL things and stuff.....
NFL Network is reporting a trade has been agreed upon but yet oficial until Thursday, but Eagles trade LB Kiko Alonzo and CB Maxwell for undisclosed draft picks.
They also say RB's DeMarco Murray and Ryan Matthews are available for the right price. |

Yeah, I don't get that. I have followed Williams' career since his days with Carolina, and have always thought of him as being a humble guy. Never thought he'd say such things about Manning. Was definitely a dick thing to say. |
DeMarco Murray to Titans
Kinda glad this happened. I was concerned that Murray was either going to go back to his old ways under Pederson or be traded back to Dallas. For Philly, Ryan Matthews still a good RB, but with him there's always a risk of injury. |

i think sanchez is probably better than rg3 or kaep, but it's got to be depressing for the broncos fans that were looking forward to this season.
I'm also not super happy about the giants and iggles getting so much better (on paper) this offseason. |
