Re: 2016 NFL Draft (2nd and 3rd round) Day 2
I like that he's multi position type player and has speed and range. Could be a good fit for our D i hope he works out well and balls the hell out!
Love the pick!!
Of Course you do. He played in So Cal. Lol. Is there anybody from the Pac - 10 that has ever played you dont like? Lol I love the pick by the way. Just praying we get a big body for the line before this is over. |
Re: 2016 NFL Draft (2nd and 3rd round) Day 2
He definitely has some flexibility on where he can play, kind of like a poor mans Troy Polomalu possibly. If he's playing primarily safety I like the pick, though I am curious who they have their eye on for defensive tackle and when/if the trigger gets pulled.
|
Re: 2016 NFL Draft (2nd and 3rd round) Day 2
If its true what they say about this being a passing league than we sure are loading up. Norman, and these two picks really should improve our game.
|
Re: 2016 NFL Draft (2nd and 3rd round) Day 2
Obviously we are sticking to our draft board!
|
Re: 2016 NFL Draft (2nd and 3rd round) Day 2
Can everyone stop using the expression "poor mans". It makes me feel like a cheap whore. Lol. Maybe one day people will say he is a poor mans Su'a Cravens!
|
Re: 2016 NFL Draft (2nd and 3rd round) Day 2
I absolutely think they see him as primarily a strong safety. DeAngelo Hall is clearly best suited to the free safety spot with corner coverage skills (albeit diminishing). Cravens can hit, he's very well suited to playing in the box. And probably most importantly, he is an answer to covering tight ends in the slot, something we currently completely lack.
Great pick. Remember, McCloughan likes his players big. If he envisioned him as an LB he wouldn't have gone with Cravens. But he's huge for a S. Safety is solved! |
Re: 2016 NFL Draft (2nd and 3rd round) Day 2
Just saw this on Bleacher Report:
PFF Draft @PFF_College Over the past two seasons hybrid LB/S Su'a Cravens held opponents to a 52.3 QB rating when targeting his coverage |

For those freaking out abot DL, from Keim:
Reminder: have said a few times the redskins feel this draft offers quality d-linemen into the fourth round. Deep year at this spot |
Cravens can play! Does it all: Plays the run, can cover, can rush the passer. I wanted Billings but what do I know? We just got a lot better at ILB/S (Hybrid).
I feel the same , I did see Craven's at his pro day ( TV) , Said he weighed 238 and was a LB . We just need a few more picks on D this weekend !! |

Re: 2016 NFL Draft (2nd and 3rd round) Day 2
Bucs took a kicker? Is it possible that he would have been there later?
|
Re: 2016 NFL Draft (2nd and 3rd round) Day 2
Tampa took a kicker in Round 2. Wow. This guy may be good, but a kicker?
|
Re: 2016 NFL Draft (2nd and 3rd round) Day 2
Lol thats high to take a kicker, apparently hes really good, vut, thats just high to me
|

Nice breakdown on Su'a by a Bills fan. Passed the eye test and then some every Saturday for me.

Re: 2016 NFL Draft (2nd and 3rd round) Day 2
Tampa must like kickers that are drafted high. They recently signed the punter that Jax took in the 3rd round several years back, and now have taken a kicker in the second themselves.

Billings 17 more picks????

Probably a good thing. We would have blown 3 picks to trade for Wilkerson and then hand him a 100+ million contract. |

By trading one of their second-round picks, Patriots now schedule to have 3 third-round picks and 5 sixth-round picks.
Chip Lohmiller, 1988 Round 2, pick 55, Redskins.
Worked out ok...
The fact that the guy is a good or even great kicker isnt the point. Would Lohmiller have been there in the 3rd, 4th, 5th? Would this guy have? Id have to go look at the 1988 draft to see everyone we didnt take instead. |
Re: 2016 NFL Draft (2nd and 3rd round) Day 2
Really need to trade our 3rd to get a couple picks
Really need to trade our 3rd to get a couple picks
Helllll no. Take the bpa (mixed happily with need). We are not that far off from being a really good team. I want a contributor not just bodies. Edit: these arent the old days when we only had 4 picks. We can come away with 3-4 starters knowing SM. They want to trade a 5 for two 6's have at it but not this early when Dline is deep. |

My only point was that there's precedent for taking a kicker this early and we're it. Not worth looking at the draft, but if memory serves me, we never regretted the move and Chip was outstanding for the Skins for a lotta years. |
Re: 2016 NFL Draft (2nd and 3rd round) Day 2
I'm looking at Sheldon Day, Hassan Ridgeway, Adolphus Washington
Josh Perry, CJ Procise |

I love me some Chip. That being said he is one of 18 k/p drafted in the first two rounds ever. If the Skins took a kicker in the second round you would be as angry as the rest of us. Lol. Romanowski was drafted later in that chip draft. So imagine if we had taken Romo and than Chip later on when he would still have been available? I just think that the first two rounds are not for kickers. Unless the guy regularly kicks 60 yarders and is just a total freak. |
Re: 2016 NFL Draft (2nd and 3rd round) Day 2
Billings still on the board. If we get him this will go down as one of our greatest drafts ever.

not true, several articles say he was 226.... but he is a football player... how many guys have 10.5 sacks and 9 interceptions in their career ? |
