Only if Romo stays healthy...but then again Denver managed to keep Peyton upright enough to win. So who knows. |

So the Texans just basically paid Cleveland in better picks to take Osweiller off their hands. LOL!!! |

to my understanding the browns get osweiler + 2017 2nd + 2017 6th while the texans get 2017 4th. how does that work as far as guaranteed money on his contract? are the browns now on the hook for guaranteed money? otherwise, the texans would have just released osweiler, right? i thought once traded, money in the contract is no longer guaranteed? or is that only on madden? lolz |

Re: NFL Free Agent Signings
Yeah, there's really no excuse to lose Baker for that money. Unless he just hated it in Washington for whatever reason.
|
Re: NFL Free Agent Signings
Baker was decent but its not like we lost Dave Butz.
|
Re: NFL Free Agent Signings
Not really getting the angst over Baker either. Above average player and good dude but people acting like we lost a stud.

when i saw what we signed mcclain for, i figured baker was going to get something over $8m/year at least. my angst is generated by the fact that we signed a replacement for $5m/year. we lost a stud (for a d lineman in the $6m/year range). |
Re: NFL Free Agent Signings
Not really getting the angst over Baker either. Above average player and good dude but people acting like we lost a stud.
I think it is more because he was the only one on our DL that could be considered a legitimate starter for an NFL team, so we are now at square 1. They'd better hope Lanier develops and actualizes all that potential they are seeing. Our D line was a weakness last season, and while there is obviously a lot of time to improve it (FA isn't over by any stretch, draft), we just took a step backwards. I hate losing both DJax and Garcon, especially Garcon. Hate it. That's a lot to swallow. And it isn't as though we used the money they would have commanded to lock up Cousins, who apparently (per the news reports) asked Snyder for a trade. WTF, man. It leaves the impression that no one wants to stick around -- Garcon, Baker, Cousins are good character/locker room guys, and DJax was by all accounts here as well. |

wow
ok, now that trade makes more sense. the browns are on the hook for $16m, depending on what he may earn w a new contract w a new team because of the offset language. |

We are adding quality players now for cheap on defense.. Also talking to Pryor who was a beast with a bad QB group last yr |

Neither DT was "cheap" and McClain was downright mediocre. Swearinger might qualify. |

He was the only decent player we had on the d-line. Now we're 1 further in the hole plus all the other holes to fill. Yeah I say this knowing we've signed 2 d-lineman (1 from one of the worst defenses in the league). |

I think the McClain signing is what's the biggest bothering point for me. Why do we think Cowboys throwaways will be the solution to our DL issues. Hatcher wasn't McClain definitely isn't. the cowboys fans are basically rejoicing that we signed him. That should say something right there!!
Exactly. What a HORRIFIC signing by them. Lil' Dan love to try and stick it to JJ.
