1. I would not be surprised that Snyder might be losing patience for multiple reasons including the team has regressed a little bit in the last three years. Now this poll adds weight.

OKC needs to win next game. Don't feel like drinking and getting all pissed off on a Saturday night. Last night was terrible. |
I agree to a point. I am just pointing out how far the franchise SEEMS to have come since the 2000s and that they may have turned a corner in how they operate. If they can now show continued progress on the field we as fans might finally see some good playoff years.
Our teams were decent under Gibbs' second coming. After he left, the SHTF and it turned into a circus. If Gruden has a bad year, that circus will just keep on going, and going, and going. Stability is great, but only if the product being presented is good. This franchise has been relatively stable for over a decade for being known as a circus of mediocrity. Stability for stability's sake isn't necessarily a good thing. We need to draft better and draft with a real plan in place. Our recent drafts have been a mixed bag recently(especially since we traded Fuller for AS and the Cravens BS). I am not sure Bruce Allen is the man with the plan. I hope I am wrong. I am tired of being the perpetual cynic with this team. It will be nice to actually enjoy Skin's football without being let down every year, as my other team(Lions) pretty much is in the same boat. |
Re: Bruce Allen Thinks Everyone Should Be Judged By Their Record?? Ok.
I don’t see the WRs being the problem like you do Ivar, I see the issue being the health of Jordan Reed. If he’s healthy he changes the way secondaries have to approach us.
You could say that’s all the more reason we need somebody to step up, because you can’t count on him, and that would be fair. But overall your view seems too pessimistic - we need to build not off the injury depleted squad that finished the year, but off the healthy version of our roster. We certainly need depth everywhere, but more than anything we just need better health. |

Jordan Reed is one of them. NT Phil Taylor has two years in a row of season ending knee injuries in training camp. Couldn't even make it out of training camp. We even recently signed a pair of free agents in aging CB Orlando Scandrick that has been battling injuries in recent years and Paul Richardson who has two knee injuries and one severe hamstring injury that handed him on season ending Injured reserve twice in his short career. Some injuries are flukes. But you have to look at who we are adding to our roster recently. More injury guys. |

Just a rumor, but not sure how I’d feel about him leaving for the raiders. On the one hand, our record has been mediocre under his leadership and there is continued drama / dysfunction of some sort every year. On the other... I’ve been quite happy with our drafts the past few years and i do feel we are better off as an organization than we were before he arrived. I guess it would depend on who replaced him. Re: Bruce Allen Thinks Everyone Should Be Judged By Their Record?? Ok.
You guys talking about all this "at least there's no drama/dysfunction" bullshit have low standards.
In 8 Years under BA, the Redskins have finished last or second to last 75% of the time including the last two years WITH a QB that throws for 4000+ yards a season. I don't know what your expectations are for this season but the Eagles are winning the division with a healthy Cowboys getting 10-12 wins while we battle the Giants for last place in the division again. He hasn't built a winner in 8 years with a Franchise QB! Keep in mind that Chip Kelly never finished worse than 2nd place in the division in 3 years with the eagles while we've only finished 2nd or better twice in 8 years. BRUCE NEEDS TO GTFO! |
Re: Bruce Allen Thinks Everyone Should Be Judged By Their Record?? Ok.
Bye Felicia! And how about that Josh Norman last night?

Terrelle Pryor, Terrell McClain, Stacy McGree, Brian Quick, Junior Gallete (3 times!), Kendall Reyes, Duke Ihenacho, David Bruton, Jeron Johnson, Jason Hatcher, Brandon Meriweather . It's great we don't over pay aging superstars anymore but the team doesn't have solid roster. They chose not to pay Jackson or Garcon last year and it costs the team wins. That was a Bruce decision. Bruce let Chris Baker go and Signed McGee and McLain, that was a huge failure last year as well. Those new guys got paid 10M(5 each) to be a speed bump last year. Kendall Reyes... The day after Reyes signing, Cooley did a film review of the guy and said that he doesn't belong in the league. I Blame Joe Berry( Reyes old coach in SD) but this is BA's responsibility. Name a good signing and I'll give you 2 that did jack shit for the team. The Redskins are going to finish 3rd in the division again but they will have the most salary cap space next year! WINNING! I think he has done some things that look positive, given the shit show this team was before he got here and I think he got us out of the shit show. That is something to be real proud of, it seems most Redskins fans are setting the bar real low. Does he have a 10 year plan? |
Re: Bruce Allen Thinks Everyone Should Be Judged By Their Record?? Ok.
I agree with jamf, in 8 years we have not made the progress we should have by now. Hell, it only took the Eagles a couple years to get rid of the Chip Kelly smell and win a SB.
I really liked the draft we had this year and am willing to give him his share of credit for it. But how much credit does he deserve when Gruden/Williams also eat at the table too? Not to mention the scouts, and everyone else who contributed. The last draft has made me tone down the BA hate I had, especially for failing with Kirk, but the future does look better for this team. So yeah overall the body of work looks like he's had more than enough time to build a winner, but the developments of this offseason actually make it look like we're building a winner. But how many people really think he's here for his football acumen? Are we now trying to give him the credit for roster building when the only thing he's ever been known for is being good on the business side? TL;DR: With the vague definition of how much credit he deserves for where we're at today, idc if he walks. |
Re: Bruce Allen Thinks Everyone Should Be Judged By Their Record?? Ok.
It’s quite possibly a make or break year for Allen. Anything less than the playoffs will be a failure and changes could come
|
Re: Bruce Allen Thinks Everyone Should Be Judged By Their Record?? Ok.
When it comes to BA, it pretty much boils down to this.
He replaced Vinny Cerrato. Thus, he was an improvement over his predecessor. However, as I have said before, replacing a giant, garbage pail full of stinking sh** with a smaller, less smelly pile of sh**, still leaves you with a pile of sh**. |
Re: Bruce Allen Thinks Everyone Should Be Judged By Their Record?? Ok.

He's not an elite GM, and I doubt anyone would shed a tear if he leaves, BUT the Skins organization took giant leaps forward under his tenure, and DS has learned how to be an owner, not a fan. Maybe that was growing pains from Dan, but I tend to give BA a lot of credit for getting DS to back off and let football people do the heavy lifting. This team is about to take off, in a good way. They invested too much emotion into the RG3/KC drama, but the rest of the team has been built up immensely. Now that we have a competent QB who wants to be here, I would be shocked if we aren't looking at 10+ wins the next 3 seasons, and longer. |

I don’t know who is primarily responsible for the free agents and rookies we’ve brought in over the past few years.... jay, Kyle, Bruce, Eric, and Bruce all have roles. We don’t know for whose voice is loudest when it comes to making final decisions, but i feel like they’ve been doing a damn fine job.
The problems that we continue to have are from a PR/media relations perspective (and nasty leaks) and that falls on Bruce. What I don’t want to see happen is for someone (Eric or Kyle) to leave and go somewhere else and for us to later find out that they had a bigger role than we realized in the teams success in player acquisitions. DS backed off because at the end of the Cerrato era fans at the Redskins home games were wearing Shirts that dispareged Snyder. Fans were hanging banners at his Stadium blaming Snyder and embarrassing him publically. The fans for the first time in modern Redskins history were turning on the owner. I agree with this. I had posted the draft results dating back to 2009, which I think would be Bruce Allen's first full year as GM. While one could argue that Mike Shanahan had some say so in later drafts, the drafts weren't particularly that great looking back on it. Very few players from those drafts (pre-Gruden) are still with the team or even still playing at all. However, there seems to be much improvement with the last few drafts. Knowing you're never going to hit on every single player, still, there are a couple drafts where one could easily say they deserve a big fat F. One editorial I read (it was a Raiders editorial so take it for what it's worth) claimed that Allen hasn't been a part of the player personnel since 2015. I don't believe that, because obviously, Williams will tell you Bruce has still been heavily involved. If Allen has taken somewhat of a backseat, then I'm not sure we can say it's a coincidence that the drafts have been on an upward trajectory. |
Re: Bruce Allen Thinks Everyone Should Be Judged By Their Record?? Ok.
Snyder did not back off until RG3 failed. After he was beat out by Cousins, he still needed to be talked into starting Cousins by Scott and Jay. After that we pretty much haven't seen or heard a peep.from the guy. Nothing. I just find it so strange that the majority owner of an NFL team has not spoken to his fan base or the media in several years.
