Gotta do whatever it takes this season to get to 10 wins.

Anyone not already in the Warpath League, check out the 2018 Warpath $$$ League thread.

Sorry to advertise here, but that thread doesn't get reviewed much and it might take some time to get 11 more people, if at all.

Something worth watching during camp: Twice Alex Smith threw the ball to Josh Doctson before Doctson made his cut. That's a catch that the previous quarterback didn't often trust Doctson to make.*https://t.co/g4maY8p0rQ

— michael phillips (@michaelpRTD)*July 26, 2018

Sick hands by Doctson on a quick out to start two minute. Norman couldn’t believe he caught it. Frankly, neither can I. Ball was on him so fast and it was low on his back hip.

Richmond Time Dispatch says,
"Slow down the hype train (but only a little): Rookie running back Derrius Guice fumbled on his first touch during 11-on-11 time. Running back time was mostly evenly distributed during the session."

Good to hear...he’s a quiet guy, so it’s cool he’s talking about his improved health. Difference maker type player when he is on the field.
I have very little confidence in Doc. I don't think he'll ever be more than a 40 to 50 catch 5 td guy. The guys that are below him on the depth chart could probably have more production if given the opportunity.
C'mon man you can't seriously think that? Doctson has shown some big time flashes and was really in his rookie year last year. I think his biggest hurdle was confidence and he seems to have gotten that back.

The dude had 6 TD's on 35 catches last year... Averaging that out he'd have about 9 TD's on your weak prediction of 50 catches. Not too shabby.

Using that same average he'd have 12 TD's on 70 catches. I know this is all speculation and hypothetical but SO FAR in his career, he has a very good catch/TD ratio and he's only 25.

I know the Skins have whiffed on receivers in the past but I think Doctson could be a great player. This is the year we find out.

This is a guy who Im watching:

Josh Harvey-Clemons with an interception on a tipped pass. I think Preston Smith tipped it but not sure

A hybrid...athletic LB who is a good tackler, physical and can cover in open field.

Right now a "package" guy

This is a good point...also those 6 TD were with a QB who was known as a conservative thrower...less willing to put the ball out there and didn't trust his receivers to make a play. Alex Smith has a more willingness to make these throws than Cousins...giving his receivers more scoring opportunities.

But with Doctson its his health which is most concerning to me.

The Skins had a great offseason. They’re bigger, better and deeper than they have been in years. I think their record comes down to health and coaching..

The article includes tweets about how Payne is disruptive and an animal.

Does anyone know definitively if we are a 1 or 2 gap 3-4?

Last year during an interview Allen made reference to playing 2 gaps, but I habe heard very little about it since.

Being effective is all that matters, but I always liked Wade Phillips style 3-4 rather than Pit's.

We have the twitch in Allen, Payne, Ionnidas, and Settle to run a 1 gap.

i hope richardson lives up to be everything all the fans and coaches and media have portrayed him for this offense. I do feel a bit worries that he is being put under a decent amount of distracting pressure; all the comparisons to DJax and what he is going to be to this offense etc.... i mean, we're comparing one of the best deep threats and weapons frankly of all time probably, vs a guy whos fast and had one good year on a team that opposing D's stacked the box against. I love the signing i love his speed and talent im just a little worried a lot of pressure is being placed on him and we have no idea how he will handle it and it wil pay out

Just listened to a Rob Kelly interview with Doc Walker.

He was talking about a commitment to the full back position and it not betting for show.

Anybody heard anything about a change in the run game?

This. Our Dline was top 10 last year before Allen and Ioannidis got hurt.

As long as I don't hear the words torn, broken, dislocated, I'll be ok. Payne is gonna be a beast. That's just 3 weeks where he can't get any worse injuries before the games count. He can still work on his upper body strength while recovering. Our d line is gonna be nasty for next few seaaons. Very exciting.

Better now than at the end of camp for Payne. As long as he’s ready for week one that’s all that matters.

I'm listening through the 980 podcasts this weekend.

Just heard Doc Walker mention Phil Taylor came into camp at 307, literally the best and quickest shape of his pro career.

At 307, and as athletic as he is, he could be a real dark horse to make the team.
