Re: Packers pregame thread
Green Bay wins this one 31-17
As long as Rodgers is on field, the team will always have a good chance of winning. FFS, Rodgers came back in Bears game with bum knee and managed to win the game for the team. I think we will see Redskins play better than last Sunday but it simply won't be enough. |
re: the bolded, I'm concerned that preparedness has something to do with that. I don't think Jay's the best tactician in the game. My patience with him is extremely thin; he either needs to post a winning season or hit the road. Nobody should be allowed to stay mediocre for this long in the NFL.
Exactly! After all, that's the reason why Snyder fired Norv Turner midway through the 2000 season. |
Seriously, I can't believe this even needs to be said.
In what universe is moving your all pro tackle to left guard the best solution?
When your best O-lineman on the bench is a Left Tackle that cannot play guard. It is not even close, the talent difference between Ty Nsekhe and the rest of the bench is massive. You want your best five out there, even if you have to move a star. Joe Bugel used to do all the time, he moved Joe Jacoby pro bowl to guard. Another time he moved Jacoby to RT when we got Lachey. He moved hall of fame Russ Grimm to center. I am not sure in what universe you would not want start your best 5? You would rather lower your chances of winning by starting a less talented line up than start your best players? Ty Nsekhe is a staring caliber LT. The rest of the guys on our bench are terrible. We basically have a rookie staring at center, TW would help him greatly at LG and Brandon Scherf at RG. That would help our second weakest link Roullier. Our first weak link Lauvao. |
Re: Packers pregame thread
starting TY is a risky move in case on of the T's happens to go down. Thats the only issue here... and then what if he got hurt while playing G? - then one of the T's goes down and he isn't there to back them up? -- I mean if last year showed us anything it's that our o-line depth is trash af ... and i guess the staff just doesn't wanna risk it ?

He can just as easily get hurt at LT or falling down. I don’t want my team to not start the best combination of players because they are scared about injuries. That is like the little old lady that died never using her wedding china because she was afraid it might get damaged. You have it to use it. |
Re: Packers pregame thread
Nsekhe played some LG last year against Dallas not sure why he couldn't again. I think he's probably plan C at guard. He would have had some more work there in the offseason if he wasn't coming off an injury.
You guys are hilarious, yes Williams has basically bet his house the Skins will lose. I totally see how you’re getting that from his comments.
Injuries are starting to creep up, he’s just looking big picture in wanting to get to the bye and heal up.
That would be acceptable if Williams was the GM of the Patriots who can get away with treating the first quarter of the season as an extension of the preseason. Last I checked he worked for the Washington Redskins that have averaged south of 7 wins the last decade. |

Perriman released, Bibbs signed off the practice squad.

That should provide a nice spark if they use him between him and Thompson. |

Nice. I'm loving all things habanero in the last year or so. The butcher shop I go to has a lot of good ones. Go there now for 1 great steak and a monthly supply of great sauces. |

Re: Packers pregame thread
If there's one thing I've learned over the years as a fan, it's that a lot of us could stand to take whatever prediction we have for the game and completely flip it, because half the time the opposite happens.
Majority opinion thought Colts were gonna be one of easier games this year, easily our most uninspiring performance since last year. Majority opinion thinks we're gonna get destroyed two weeks in a row because we got destroyed last week and the Packers are good, it ends up being a fairly easy win. |
