Eh, after seeing last night's game, at least we didn't blow $90 million dollars on a QB to have almost the same record that we have right now with our 4th QB.

There you go w/ Cousins again..smh. As soon as they don't play well you bash him. Did Wilson play any better last night? No but his team.did. Do you do this when he played great a week or two ago when Zimmer gave him the game ball? Look at our QB situation??? It's in total shambles. It's so personal w/ you when it comes to Cousins...lol. He must have done something to you, maybe turned you down for an autograph???

What's crazy is that we still have a predictable shot to beat out Minnesota for the last playoff spot.

Based on the ESPN Playoff machine, if you use the winning percentage criteria we go in ahead of Minnesota, with record of 7-8-1 (the tie being the last game of the year with Philadelphia)

I don't think even with help the Redskins can make the play-offs at 6-10. I don't see how they can win another game.

Gruden averages 2 wins in December. Jacksonville we may win. Tennessee is doubtful. Philly just depends on where both teams are mentally (it may be a win or be fired moment for Gruden, and some players may play for Gruden)

We should have signed Cousins and built the team around him when we had the chance...I think after the first year of the Franchise tag I think we lost that chance...but there easily was a 2 year window to get a deal done.

Could built the team around him and at least had a shot. We never had a chance with Alex Smith, sorry we never did-healthy or not. That was a much worse deal...the trade and a dumbass extension....than a good contract for Cousins.

Cousins hasn't been great for Minnesota...but its the first year of the deal and they have a decent window the next 2 years with that team to make a serious run.

He's 0-5 against teams with a winning record this year, and some people on this board use the Skins FO not signing him as a reason to bash them. Now, there are plenty of reasons to bash the FO, but not keeping a middle of the pack diva qb who held the team hostage instead of signing very good (not elite) money contract shouldn't be considered one of them. I'm pretty sure I read that the offer Alex Smith accepted was similar to the one on the table for KC. IMO, that would have been a reasonable plan for both sides, but KC wanted elite money guaranteed, and he's not playing anywhere near that level, passing stats be damned.

Yeah, tell that to the team/fanbase that was one game away from the SB last year.

And yes, we did have a chance with Alex, see how everything has crumbled after he went out.

Funny how people keep making excuses for Cousins, but were not willing to give Alex a chance.

Re: Dumpster fire Postgame

Kirk Cousins is not a top 10 QB, he is a top 10 stats QB, Both are very different. He is great when games are out of reach and he can get his garbage yards, we have seen this so many times. I was in denial and wanted Kirk back but after watching him this season and his film, nothing has changed. He's the same KC as he has been, has mental breakdowns , (last night when he just threw it back to the RB after Thielan was wide open) , He fumbles way too much and he misses throws in the Red Zone. The guy is a solid starter but not worth 84M

The Vikings would have exact same record as us if the referees didn't cheat the Packers on one of the biggest BS roughing calls you'll ever see and they are way more talented. Cousins is not a winner, its just that simple.

I'm not a Kirk apologist. But it's like some of you are obsessed with ripping him over the money he got. It's crickets when he plays well but the minute he has a bad game it's.. " well at least we didn't pay the guy." Also it's painfully obvious he was better than Smith, at least in this offense.

This is a solid argument and it's debatable. Was Kirk getting garbage yards when he had come from behind wins? Or games like he had against New Orleans last year where he was let down by the defense? He had plenty of games here where he played well enough to win but lost. Sorry that ain't on him.

To me it came down to this. Would you rather pay Cousins 84m over the 3 years? Or would have rather paid Smith 71 million? Basically the Redskins saved 4 million a year for a QB that isn't as good. It blew up in their faces because now Smith is hurt and may never play again, he wasn't playing well before he got hurt and now we're back to square one.

The Skins are full of bad quarterback decisions. Sanchez didn’t last 4 quarters until he was benched for someone who’s a practice squad journeyman that hasnt played in years.

There’s a Washington Post article saying Washington Unwittingly Proved Colin Kapernick’s value.

Gruden and Allen are (yet again) responsible for those bad decisions. Just like letting Cousins walk to save 4 million on a quarterback who ran the offense like crap and couldn’t complete a pass over 5 yards. They both need to be fired.

I'd rather of had Alex. Can't include the injury in the decision as that's out of teams control and was just plane nasty. We were winning games and could have won the game he got hurt in if refs didn't fuck us where the sun don't shine. Whether the wins were because of him or not is another discussion, but we were winning.

Well let’s be honest here. Do you disagree? I think Washington did prove Kapernicks value. After watching the complete shit show Sanchez was, and now we’re going with a mobile Quarterback who can move around and extend plays (as Gruden put it) wouldn’t most think Kapernick was the best option and most talented to go with? Certainly over who’s starting now.

Funny how Gruden is back to needing a QB like RG3....ironic

He’s just FULL of good Quarterback decisions.

RG3 to Cousins to McCoy back to Cousins to Smith to McCoy to Sanchez to what’s his name?

We didn’t draft anyone when we should have, there’s no one in FA or the draft, and Kapernick is laughing at home.

I know u are joking but for the ones that don't now..

Jacoby Brissett = Young solid QB that will be cheap to get via trade if the Colts let him go.

Joe Flacco = Yes he's getting older but he wouldn't be bad for a couple years.

Nick Foles = Yes I would take Foles for a couple years.

Tyrod Taylor = Another stopgap guy for a year or 2.

Ryan Fitzmagic = He lit us up so why not?

Will Grier = Will be a 1st round QB and possibly there when we pick.
High ceiling, can make all the throws and moves around well.

Dwayne Haskins = Dominated Michigan and Jim Harbaugh's defense. Huge year this season, great arm and pocket passer.

My choice and hope is in bold.

Tyrod Taylor is an enigma to me, because when he was with the Bills he somehow got them to the playoffs. And this was when they were basically in rebuild mode and were getting rid of all of their playmakers. Yet he stunk it up with the Browns.

What about Teddy B?

The options aren't very enticing but fact is we're probably going to have to roll with a journeyman type to start the year, and hopefully we can get a quality draft pick to develop that can play sooner rather than later.

It does suck, but it can change with a good defense and run game which we could have next yr with Guice/AD. Right now AD has to carry the load and he's too old to do so. The bears are rolling with very avg QB play, Jags did last yr too. It's possible.
