Re: Redskins Mock Draft
I’ll still stand my ground that ya take the chance on Finley in the 3rd worse case scenario he gets some snaps this year we have a decent backup to Colt and we draft a franchise QB next year if needed. You can’t leverage the franchise this year with another RG3 move again our needs run too deep. Pick us up best available throughout from positions of need.
Finley is starting QB caliber in the NFL out of the draft if we can grab him in the 3rd we will have a replacement for Colt as a backup for a couple years so we can afford to take a gamble next year for the next Generational QB
This this this. We aren’t in position to get a Haskins or Murray at 15. Rather not make a reach...get a devin white, pass rusher or even a CB like Baker out of Georgia. |
Re: Redskins Mock Draft
I was watching Mel Kiper and Todd McShay the other day and they are saying this is a top heavy defense player draft. Kiper said 7 of the top 10 players in the entire draft are on the defensive side of the ball. Add to that that, as usual, the high number of QB starved teams will reach for their QB early because they are desperate and stupid. That means when we pick at 15 there will be top 10 defense talent available. Not the ideal situation since we are one of those QB starved teams, but let’s not be one of the stupid QB starved teams. It is always good when we can get a top 10 player at 15. Value not desperation.

Jones, lock or grier will be a redskin most likely. Especially with the news on Smith

Re: Redskins Mock Draft
Last year Doug Williams and Co. expressed that RB and DT were HUGE priorities and we drafted both right away.
This year there is no way you can ignore the QB position not being a top 2 need. The only way they do not acknowledge this is if they are openly tanking for 2020. Also Jay needs a QB to have a chance at saving his job, Colt Mccoy is not the answer , neither is JJ. We will draft a QB guys, unless we do go sign a vet like Fitzmagic or Flacco. |

That's my ideal situation. Colt, Johnson (or another veteran), and a QB anywhere in round 2 or later. |
Re: Redskins Mock Draft
i think we all have good draft ideas about who we should target in the first round but right now looking at the team ,the QB position is probably the weakest spot on the team and mcCoy is not the answer or is jj ,i understand tanking but then it goes against what the stupid redskins front office said about keeping gruden and there is no guarantee that we will be in a position to draft one of the top three qb,s next year

Re: Redskins Mock Draft
What do you guys think about possibility of trading for Ryan Tannehill say a 5th round .. bring him in for next year with McCoy .. and not reach for a QB in first round .. would it make any sense?

no sense at all...Tannehill contract is back weighted like a bitch. Something like 20 this year and 23 million next year...but the Dolphins have an out to cut him this offseason. They will. |

No...he's too prone to injury...he's missed almost two full seasons worth of games with injuries...I'd rather the team sign Ryan Fitzpatrick or Bridgewater in free agency.....and to add the Redskins need all of their draft picks. |
Re: Redskins Mock Draft
I say take Jones or Grier at 15.
Trade back into the 1st rd and grab DK Metcalf. Time to build this offense again. |

Jones impressed at the senior bowl. Remember most "experts" said the Mahomes draft class was bad. Anything can happen |

"anything can happen" is the worst rationale that could possibly be used for drafting a player. Should we use our first round pick on kicker? why not - anything can happen! |
Re: Redskins Mock Draft
"Dan, I strongly advise you to hire Bruce Allen"
Dan: "What's the driving logic?" "Anything can happen" Dan: "You're right, lets go with that" |

Not saying just guess and pick a guy, I'm saying the draft projections on these guys isn't near accurate enough. Who's to say Jones isn't a great QB in the making? The draft is a crapshoot at almost every position. |
Re: Redskins Mock Draft
I'm just saying for those that say wait until round 4 or 5 to draft a QB need to understand the chances of that QB actually doing anything are VERY slim. Tom Brady isn't walking around yearly in the late rounds, that was pure luck for NE to find the Goat in the 6th. Most franchise QB's are 1st round guys.

This does not sound like a guy interested in playing football. Wouldn't touch him with a 10 foot pole anywhere near the first three rounds. |
Redskins Mock Draft
He’s playing football, it’s simple economics. In baseball you have to toil away in the minors before you get called up and if you’re any good you’ll eventually get a good contract. In football as a first round pick he’s getting paid right away.
Look at what Payne got last year at 13, $14.4M guaranteed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Sure you get more money upfront in the NFL but even if he does play in the NFL I'm not sure I'd see him fully committed to it long term. He literally looks clueless in this interview about what his short-term draft plan is. Why is that? 2 weeks before the combine and you're not even sure if you are going or if you will do the pro day? |

Bad interview but everything I’ve read and heard about him says he’s football first.
