Wentz looked bad-bad. Missing reads, missing throws. Poor feel for the game. Normally a QB doesnt lose the ability to read a defense.
His contract looks worse. Cap hit jumps to 34M next year with a ton of guaranteed money left. Eagles are 2nd worst in cap space for next year at - 64M.
They are stuck with him. I am sure that injuries have a lot to do with where they are right now, but I can't believe some of the decision making that goes on during their games. Maybe that too is a product of their injury problem, I don't know. |

As mentioned, the line stinks so that doesn't help but the coaches know this but don't seem able to scheme a plan to help him succeed. Wentz will be successful again if he's able to get a fresh start with coaches who know how to put him in a position to succeed. |
Re: Around the NFL week 12
Wentz lost his mojo. That contract is the definition of an albatross.

Regardless of what his problem it sure doesn't look like the Eagles are going to suddenly get it together anytime soon. The East is a two team race now.

Both Dallas and NY still have clear paths to the division though. Dallas' schedule favors them getting to 7 wins, but like with Philly, their coaching seems mired in bad decisions. Losing to NY means we have to have one more win then them and that will be tough. I think i would put even money on all 3; Dallas, NY and us. Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk |

Re: Around the NFL week 12
The division is 4 bad teams. Trying to predict wins and losses is a fools errand. Any 1 of the 4 teams can lose to anyone. Who can scrape out 2 wins has the upper hand. If a team can win 3 somehow, the divison is theirs.

Re: Around the NFL week 12
Football Outsiders give the Giants a 40 percent chance of winning the division, Washington a 30 percent chance, Philadelphia 19 percent and Dallas 10 percent.

https://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/nfl/playoff-odds
I loved our win and Dallas's 4th qtr collapse but schedule alone gives Dallas a better than 10 percent chance. What was it the day after dallas beat minnesota? I would bet that it was dallas up around 40 and us around 10. edit: Matty's link had the +/- change so before our win, Dallas was around 26% and we are were around 17%. Those odds will bounce as erratically as the division wins do. edit: http://www.espn.com/nfl/playoffs/machine Criteria: winning % Washington at 6-10 Offense rank Dallas at 8-8 Defense rank NYG at 8-8 (we also finish 8-8 but lose tie breaker) Bottomline, like sdskins said, none of these teams are head and shoulders above the rest, and the winner won't be decided until week 17. |
Re: Around the NFL week 12
I was listening to the morning sports show here in Denver, and something that Mark Schlereth (Stink) said kind of stuck out to me. The Broncos head coach said something along the lines like their offense missed around 1600 to 1700 repetitions this offseason, which is similar across the league. Teams like the Chiefs, Saints, Packers, Seahawks, Rams, even the Eagles would not be impacted near as much as teams like Washington with a new quarterback, new coaching staff, etc. They are lucky to be where they are, and this is like week 5 or 6 coming up instead of week 13.

That's sad
Actually I'll blame Dustin Hopkins in at least one Giants loss and the Lions loss. Missed a makeable FG and we lost by 1 against NJ, we lost by 3 against Detroit due to his miss. He's missed SIX (6!) of 22 FGs this season. That's unacceptable. Lost us 2 close games. |

I think the Ravens can beat Dallas with ANY QB who's actually a QB (looking at you, Broncos). Ingram and Dobbins will be back from their Wuhan vacation, they'll just run all over that league-worst Dallas "defense". Dalton is now missing his entire starting O-line except the Center. Ravens D will eat him up like we did. All RG3 needs to do is hand the ball off and get Tucker in FG range all day. |
Re: Around the NFL week 12
the only reason rg is still in the league is cause the Ravens decided to run a college offense. he still is a terrible qb and has been since 2013.

Lol that’s why I think Dallas would win if he’s the starter. It’s really a fucking shame after the way he started for us, we had so much hope, 95% of the people on this forum thought he would be and was better than Russell Wilson 🤦🏻*♂️ |

Pride comes before the fall. He learned that lesson hard and fast. Wasted his career over insisting on being something he wasn't (could of possibly grown into that, but his ego wouldn't let him grow in a smart, timely fashion). |

I mean it is the Steelers, the only undefeated team left this year. If we win great, but I won't be surprised if we lose. I think the last 2 weeks has made everybody forgot just how bad we looked at times earlier this year. |

I think the last 2 weeks has made everybody forgot just how bad we looked at times earlier this year.
I definitely know what you mean. I am an eternal optimist when it comes to this team, but their four wins have not come against good teams (Eagles, Cowboys x 2, Bengals), they haven't won games they should have (Giants x 2, Detroit, probably Cleveland), and they have been handled by good teams (Cardinals, Ravens, Rams). That being said, they haven't been handled since week 5. They are 3-3 over the last 6 games, with those 3 losses coming by a combined 7 points. My optimism tells me they appear to be putting together more complete games of late, the O-line seems to be gelling, A Smith is getting more comfortable, the defense is looking great, the sidelines look more energetic, and perhaps they are turning the proverbial corner and are in the midst of a run to the division title / playoffs. Luckily, they play the Steelers next. While that game won't be a deciding factor with regard to the division title, win or lose, it will definitely show us where they stand. |

Re: Around the NFL week 12
I think I said it earlier in the year in here (but maybe elsewhere), that with no proper camp & preseason, weeks 1-6 and (maybe even up to 8) will be good teams shaking down and poorer teams working out where they were. Kind of like wishing it were a 10 game season with games 1-6 not counting. AS Chief says over the last 6 games we're 3-3 and I tend to think that's more realistic view of were we sit than the early season games, especially given the turnover at QB. I can't help thinking recent form, in a normal season, shows us to be 1n 8-8 or even 9-7 team. OK, in a proper season the rest of the division would probably be better too. But we seem to be hitting our stride while others are getting only a little better (Giants) or falling away (Cowboys and Eagles). Like the Falcons pulling out wins that wouldn't have been predicted after week 3.
Maybe we're better than our record and deserve to win the division? I don't hold out much hope in the playoffs as we're too weak in places (like WR and TE) but to me we're improving at the right time. |

He also managed to look slow on a 40 yard run. I kinda felt bad for him, like watching a 40 year old Michael Vick trying to scramble. |
Re: Around the NFL week 12
RG3 is pure trash. He doesn’t belong in the league...complete bust
