Would appear that way. But I still have no faith. We beat the Saints and ill up my win prediction from 3/4 to 5/6. |

It's funny how much more quiet this site is after a win.
I didn't see much of the game, watching on Redzone, but was it just me that got the impression the D walked off the field after that play and all but ignored him lying in pain in the EZ? Was it just the way the broadcast focussed on the guys coming off or did guys go back out to check on him?
If they didn't I'm beginning to think there's a culture problem on D (what with the lack of hussle already highlighted).
I think there's zero chance McTyer's teammates acknowledged, and then ignored the fact that he was hurt. They have bad coverage skills, but I don't think they are bad humans. |

That's because it hasn't been hijacked by condiment debates yet.
Until then some post game observations: https://www.hogshaven.com/2021/10/4/22708435/unpacking-my-emotional-response-to-the-exciting-road-victory-against-atlanta |
Re: Falcons postgame
Wild game. Was hoping the D would show signs of life in this one, but at least the offense came to play. The defense has to turn it around at some point, right?

Brutal. :) |
Re: Falcons postgame
The defense has been able to stop the run fairly well in spots…it’s the pass defense/pass rush
And of course 3rd down conversations is the big problem. What were we 10/15 last night? |

L taken. I was on my third victory glass of bourbon at that point. Cheers |
Re: Falcons postgame
Will definitely take the victory for sure. Will never be upset about a road victory especially against an NFC team. Heinicke makes the offense entertaining for sure. We definitely have playmakers. McLaurin is special along with Gibson. Cannot wait to get Samuel going. Hope Sherff and Thomas are ok. We need them.
This team really could do something if the defense gets going. Hope they can get by NO which could be an interesting game. |

If they can’t find guys running around there is no way they can find one laying down! |

Re: Falcons postgame
Jonathan Allen was once again dominant yesterday.
He was Washington's highest-graded player with a 93.5 overall grade, 2 pressures, and a 26.7% pass-rush win %. He's the best player on this defense and I don't think it's close |
Re: Falcons postgame
Sitting at 2-2, regardless of how we got here, is nice.
Seems like the Saints are inconsistent and a winnable game. No pass catchers but Kamara is healthy w lots of touches yesterday in a 27-21 loss to the NYG. Jones had over 400 yards passing. W Saints L Chiefs L Packers W Broncos If we can go 4-4, we have our bye week 9. Just keep fighting and hanging in there. The D has to get better. |

It's unreal. It's just insane that we have to assume a 3rd and 15 will be converted. It's 4 weeks in, can they get better? Maybe. But it sure looks like we will just have a terrible defense all season. I believe the announcers said this was by far the Falcons best offensive performance of the season. Want to look good on offense? Play the WFT. |

JP Finlay Retweeted
Ian Rapoport @RapSheet · 12m "Washington Football Team LB Jon Bostic suffered a pec injury yesterday, source said, and he’ll have an MRI today. There is a fear it’s a serious one, but the tests will tell the full story." Hate to celebrate a guy getting injured, but could this have the same effect on the defense as Collins going down last year... young guy (Davis now, Curl last year) forced to play and changes the direction of the defense? |

Why would he? These guys in the secondary and the LB's just are not capable. They're not good and you just have to call it what it is. |

Likewise if we pull it together on defense (seems highly unlikely but…) over the next several weeks than that lucky win is huge. We finish with two against the birds and one against the Giants- all winnable. Dallas has been relying heavily on the run - and I think our D can handle the run. Plus ya gotta think Dallas is playing way over their heads on offense. We just have to be in the conversation for the division with five weeks to go. |

TBH of the four next opponents the only team playing consistent over the last couple of weeks is Green Bay. Chiefs won in Philly but it was pretty ugly they couldn't stop the Philly offensive juggernaut. Broncos will be tougher if they get Bridgewater back but they just let Lamar Jackson throw all over them. |

Kyle Pitts, not impressed
Imagined getting owned by our defense? |

That is so sad, but true... They have to figure it out though right? I mean it is quite baffling. On paper, it looked like a better defense than last year, and it's the same coaches, but it feels historically atrocious at times. |

Imagined getting owned by our defense?
Same. Now I didnt see much of him in college but read all the hype reports. I was expecting more and he didnt play like hes a fleet footed 6'6" Still so early though but these 1st round sure fire TEs lately have not panned out. OJ Howard, Engram, Njoku, Hayden Hurst .. Hockenson and Fant are good but Thomas has more production. |
Re: Falcons postgame
Yeah Pitts may be one of those 1 year college wonders, too early to tell tho
|
Re: Falcons postgame
Pitts was a couple of catches away from having a pretty big day. You can see the talent he just needs to develop.

Re: Falcons postgame
If the defense showed up week 1 , we would be 3-1 right now.. The NFL is such a play by play outcome
