I can see Admirals with the logo being the W and the A underneath
I don't mind Admirals i just don't envision DC as a Naval town. Commanders kind of covers all aspects of the military where admiral is specific to the Navy.

Annapolis Admirals would be killer where as the Lexington Midshipman is a bit confusing. If you follow me.
Also some black stitching here around what is maybe part of the logo?

NFL is allowing alternate helmets again next year so a black one could definitely be in play
Watching the video again I'm counting three helmets, Burgundy w/ yellow mask, Burgundy w/Burgundy mask and black on black. Also the logo appears as if it is in a circle with a W in the middle.

Let's just rehire Zorn and change our color scheme to maroon and black.

Now that Snyder bought out the minority owners (with a loan from the NFL) .. why cant he just say "screw it, I change my mind .. we're going by 'Skins, suck my little tiny dick."

There are no good names. Ive spent many hours researching and trying to think of a cool name and there is nothing that works for Washington ... except for Warriors.

There is no good name. It doesnt exist. The internet is an ingenious place and they have come up with nothing.

Commanders .. Defenders .... they all miss the mark.

timberwolves is different then redwolves.

tbf every name misses the mark, until it doesn't. This team isn't going to be complete until it actually finds success on the field and the fans can get behind it.

Hope they bring back that faux-leather helmet that they used the first year with the retro throwbacks - that look was dope.

I hear you, but once again everyone seems to forget the pairing of teams that used to be common.

The Arizona Cardinals used to be the St Louis Cardinals and shared the name and stadium with the baseball team of the same name. Just as the NY Giants (nka SF Giants and NY Giants) did. Just as the Boston Braves (nka WFT and Atlanta Braves) did as well.

Obviously there was some kind of agreement between the two and that has carried over to Arizona as well as San Francisco.

You raise a good point, but the example is not accurate. But since you raised it, I will repeat that a nice move would have been us becoming the Washington Nationals football team and paired with the Nats. Of course, the Lerners would have never taken Danny's call.

A better man, a man with more class and respect, might have been able to hold firm. Such a man would have bought out the other guy and then gone before the cameras and soberly stated, "Our team name has absolutely nothing to do with an innocent man being killed by a rogue cop. And shame on anyone who seeks to exploit the murder of an innocent to engage in juvenile political theatrics."

But ...Snyder is not that man and never could be.

You can use anything you want as long as you're willing to spend some money.
Cleveland Indians/Guardians changed their name to a popular local one overnight.

Snyder probably want's to go with the cheapest option there is.

Well sure, they could have had a long drawn out process trying to use redwolves or some variation of wolves, but in the end is it really worth an extended legal battle only to probably end up being denied and back to square one? I think some of you are really oversimplifying what this process takes. And imagine the backlash of a legal battle to use a name that another team doesn't want them to take.

If they wanted wolves or redwolves and got the nfl behind the name change I doubt it would have had to be drawn out.

As was pointed out, a minor league soccer team has been using Redwolves for two plus years while the lawyers work out the details.

But for the team, they've already told us wolves wasn't worth their time

Or they simply didn't like it enough, probably a combo of both

As much has I hate Snyder, it's his team, ultimately he can name it whatever he wants

Credskins.. I hear you and don’t disagree .. however you don’t like the commanders name but I’m sure others do ..in fact a lot of my friends like the military type theme ..so to you it would be worth it to fight the name in court .. nothing wrong with having a opinion .. and for the record my fav name was warriors then Redwolves .. but both got canned .let’s just hope it’s not horrible like the groundhogs 😀

This team has me so beatdown that I can't imagine liking anything they put out.

After the unveiling, we get 7 months of "winning" and marketing campaigns.
A few weeks of training camps and new unis that will probably look cool.

Guess what we get opening night against the Cowboys in a prime time game?

Commanders is pretty generic to me, but I'm waiting to judge the entire package, new uniforms and the logo too. I'm liking what we're seeing so far regarding the uniforms. This mock up looks nice with the gold numbers and the shoulder stripes

I'm pro-Hogs. Obviously we have nothing to look forward to for the next 40 years under Dan's ownership, so anything that allows us to reminisce about the glory days is good by me.
