Re: MILE HIGH THRILLER POST GAME
gotta give these guys major credit. denver may not be a SB contender but denver is still a good team. and payton seemed to scheme up a good plan in that first half. russ looked like the old russ for a while. to be down 21-3 and win on the road w/ a young qb is a major accomplishment.
plenty to whine about but when you win on the road like that, we as fans just gotta enjoy this type of shit. not ready to crown sam, but we may have found our QB. |

Watching the dap and celebrating after the go ahead touchdown by EB, players and coaching staff
That was the moment folks. Anyone complaining about being EB being too hard or tough in preseason/practice…that’s gone. Everyone believes now, that moment has legitimized the approach. Resilient and tough…execution excellence |

2-0 is a good start.
I had us getting blown once it was 21-3 we were playing like crap and looked slow and confused.. anybody that says we were gonna win down 21-3 is telling a fib😀.. Jamin Davis forced fumble that could have been a facemask turned the game around .. we got lucky on several penalties that went our way .. oh I’m happy we won BUT this is not gonna work every week … let’s see if RON can get this team off to better starts .. I’m not saying we should be perfect but we can’t go down 21 to bad teams then decide to play … |

Yup. We are not negative because we aren’t happy with struggling against bad teams. This team has a quarterback and an OC that are providing us with serious hope for the future. You are 100 percent right Rik. This kind of play is not sustainable against good teams. But this is the new owners first year and he had zero to do with this past offseason. Going forward the guy has a boatload of cap space, a QB, an OC, weapons out the wazoo, and one of the best dlines in football. Give him an offseason to spend and another draft and we are going to be a damn good team. I just think that next year is the year. Pretty sure that would constitute real positivity and keeping it real. Been saying for a while the most important thing this year is seeing Sam grow and become our quarterback of the future. We are watching it happen. |

For those of you who don't believe this team is for real (young is a jag, Howell has only played 3 games, blah, blah, blah), we are beating the shit out of the Bills next week. There is room on the bandwagon for the doubters.

Re: MILE HIGH THRILLER POST GAME
Good:
- We are 2 - 0 for the first time in 12 years! - We didn't give up when going down big and the game felt like it was over. I almost started watching a different game, then the fire lit and it was great to watch OUR team coming back against all odds. - Howell . . . even with the line not playing great he performed very well! Great job for his first road start. - TD pass to McLaurin!! That was Gorgeous!! Way to trust your stud WR Howell!! Bad: - First half defense - - - gave up 21 points to a team that has really been struggling offensively. also gave hope to broncos fans that Wilson may be what they thought they were trading for. - First half o-line play. Were they even on the field? IMO play calling played a bit into that. In the second have there were more screens, RPOs and running plays called and the o-line settled down and played OK (not great, but much better than in the first half) Ugly: - First quarter defense. Its like the defense believed 100% that Wilson was done and dead. They were not ready to play. The defensive game play was not even decent. The secondary looked terrible. The run defense looked terrible. WE NEED TO START FASTER!!! - Hit on Logan Thomas. Dude should get suspended!! I believe the announcer said he was flagged and fined for a similar play in week 1. Suspend his ass!! There is no place in this league for cheap shots like that!!! |
From a fan's perspective, I wasn't a fan of the move either. I would have rather seen a punt there considering how the D was (suddenly) playing. However, I have to believe Ron saw Slye hit numerous 60 yard FGs during warmups and thought it would be better to end that possession with points, rather than punt. It didn't work out... whatever. Not all decisions turn out to be right. Had Slye made it, no one would be questioning the decision.
he had the wind at his back in high altitude Denver . . . distance wise the kick would have been good from 69 . . . just needed it to go straight. I was surprised by the call, but was ok with it. worked out anyway! |

Yeah and I don’t think it is even close. He could be a league mvp. Skinsguru - that pass to McLaurin was an absolute thing of beauty. He laid that right on the numbers and Terry was not going to be stopped. If that throw and catch doesn’t have people excited for the future nothing will. Meanwhile this dipshit Sal Lacata on NY sports radio actually just said Sam Howell isn’t very good. All he knows about Sam Howell is he was drafted in the fifth round. What a dope. |
Re: MILE HIGH THRILLER POST GAME
Stock up:
B-Rob Bieniemy Howell D-line Stock down: Cheeseman Leno This thread is hilarious. Lots of bitching after we won a game we had no business winning. If we were down 21-3 with Wentz or Heinicke at qb does anybody see us coming back from that? DPI or no DPI, I consider the non-call karma after last year's Giants game. Great comeback win and hopefully next week we can fix the slow start. Onward and upward. |
Re: MILE HIGH THRILLER POST GAME
It's beyond hilarious, but some people just like to complain/bitch. I've always been a glass half-full kinda fan myself. Not that there's no room for improvement, obviously. I thought the offense played pretty well the whole game, but Slye wasn't great, and the secondary was bad in the first quarter, and it didn't seem like anyone could get off a block either. That turnover though, that really changed the momentum in our favor. Nice play by C Young, J Davis, and C Barton.
Nice W on the road against a decent team. |
Re: MILE HIGH THRILLER POST GAME
Great win. Remember folks--this is the BEGINNING of a new era. Not there yet, obviously. But man, it is so much nicer to win some games.
First off, Bieniemy is such a huge upgrade. What a pleasure to watch a real offense. How frickin long has it been? Biggest play of Jamin's career? Hope the LBs can grow behind this monster D line. Thomas--wow. How do you hold on to that ball? Jeebus, it's a violent game. Fuck Kareem Jackson. Terry is a a straight out baller. Glad he has a bit of help now. A great captain. B Rob--yes, my man!! What a great game overall. Howell--keep it up, kid. No TOs!! Going to be ups and downs, no doubt. So, did our defense actually adjust after the first quarter, or did they just wake up? Haven't heard much analysis. Seemed that Denver stopped going long. Anyway, great win. Lots to improve--O-line (tackles, especially), LB play, long snapper (wtf?). But it's early days--2 games post-Snyder. |

They will face KC and SD twice each, and we aren't on that level, so he's not wrong when he says they will face better offenses.

This thread is hilarious. Lots of bitching after we won a game we had no business winning.
Wait, we had no business winning this game? Did we have any business going down 21-3 to a crap team? We don’t have Taylor or Carson. No need to even mention them. We have a competent quarterback now. Yes it is absolutely bat shit fantastic that we came back. AND YES it is absolutely bat shit terrible that we got punched in the mouth in the first place! It happened. Lol. Im gonna say it for the last time and than for my own sanity bow out. COMING OUT FLAT AGAINST BAD TEAMS (two weeks in a row) DOES NOT BODE WELL WHEN YOU PLAY THE EAGLES OR BILLS OR COWBOYS OR ANY OF THE GOOD TEAMS IN THE LEAGUE. Jesus Christ. It isn’t negative. It is God damn concerning and we better fucking fix it before next week! And no I don’t hope we get killed so I can say i told you we suck. Lol. I want to win every game! Hence my concern with looking like shit against the Cardinals or Broncos. It is just what it is. Nothing more. Nothing less. We need to fix shit before next week because we are not coming back down 21-3 against real teams!!!!!!!! |

Re: MILE HIGH THRILLER POST GAME
I don't get overly down or optimistic after results until they really start counting (playoff implications/games, SB). But ever since the sale I've tried to take an optimistic slant more than not. Feel we have many of the ingredients to make a playoff run (D, SH, EB), I just have big concerns about RR. We need to come hard out of the gate, and for me that's on the HC. Can't come out slow vs Bills, Eagles, Cowboys etc. But after yesterday I'm much more optimistic than last week.
Funnily enough, I'm in NY for 2 weeks (family event/vacation) and hoped to see both games live, but my SiL doesn't have a sports package so had to watch CBS (Bills game) and Gameday Live, so it looked so bad early on that I was fine going out to dinner. The restaurant had the NY games on and I paid little attention. Then they suddenly had the end of our game on after the Jets game finished. I went from disinterested to biting my nails in seconds. 😁 I have Sky in the UK, so tend to only watch the games they show, and/or Redzone. I've not been motivated to pay for Game Pass since it became available in the UK (in addition to Sky sub), because I didn't feel we'd be worth spending the extra to watch. I'm very much minded to look at a sub when I get back to the UK, cost be damned, because it now looks like we're going to be very much worth watching. 😄 |
Re: MILE HIGH THRILLER POST GAME
Most definitely room for improvement, but for the 2nd week in a row we found a way to win. It speaks volumes.
This team reminds me of last year's team with two glaring exceptions - Howell and Bieniemy. And what a difference they are making. We're never gonna be a team that can put together 60 minutes of excellent football every week. But we are a team that isn't going to give up when we go down by 3 scores in a game. And now we have the talent to actually compete when that's the case. Also before I forget - fuck Kareem Jackson. Rot in hell you fuck. We hear a lot about the NFL being a brotherhood and we see it every week. But this was the 3rd absolute sheisty cheap shot in 2 weeks. Every time that happens the player should be ejected, I don't even care if it's one of our own that does it. |
