Was it just me or was that Chase Young just jogging down the field on that last score. A little hustle and he could have made a stop.

Ben Johnson isn't going to have that kind of offense in DC.

That Reynolds drop will be the beginning of the end. That has to be caught.

Dan Campbell is blowing this game for the Lions.

Chico23231 01-28-2024 09:29 PM

Re: Conference Championships - Around the NFL

Man what a collapse. Josh Reynold has cost them 2 possessions with drops. The Gibbs fumble and Williams dropping a td.

and you got to kick the game tying field goal there. Just dumb by Campbell

The lions would be smart to FIRE Dan and hire Ben ...

Players love Dan and he’s a good coach. Bad couple calls tonight but he also has done this all season.

This is as close as the lions are gonna get to a Super Bowl .. they are losing the reason they got here ! They won't make playoffs next year !

I only logged in to say the same thing, they should’ve kicked the field goal to tie it up at 27, that was an idiotic move

On the bright side,we’ll have a coach this week whether is Johnson or MacDonald.

What a pathetic fuckboy job by Campbell and Reynolds.

Man, imagine having 6 extra points.

Coach gotta take the L on this game. He blew it as well as the WRs.

Re: Conference Championships - Around the NFL

They ought to reduce the 10 yard buffer to 8 yards. It would give onside kicks more of a chance

Well we should be getting our coach soon!!

Re: Conference Championships - Around the NFL

The gambles on 4th down I get in the regular season .. but in a game of this magnitude you can't do that ! I would have kicked the FG's

skinsfan69 01-28-2024 09:53 PM

Re: Conference Championships - Around the NFL

In a huge game like this you can not coach it like it's the regular season. Campbell was Brandon Staley bad tonight and it cost the Lions the game.

Drops happen and the fumble was unfortunate, It killed the offense in the second half.
no excuse for the D to give up scoring drives like that.

Not trying to tie the game was a blunder considering how shaky they were playing at that point.

Chase Young.. buddy I wish the best for you but you weren’t hustling past your initial move. You’re a one pump chump.

Re: Conference Championships - Around the NFL

A great comeback by the Niners. There shouldn't be any questions about Purdy after that. The 2 Reynolds' drops were a killer. Way too aggressive by Campbell down 3 to go for it on 4th down. You must take the tie there. Chiefs-49ers should be good. Funny how the Chiefs enter a lot of these big playoff games as slight underdogs and win. Reid/Spags/Mahomes/Kelce is damn tough to beat. Purdy will have to play very well for them to do it.

Re: Conference Championships - Around the NFL

I feel sorry for the Lions fans. So close and yet so far.
I feel sorry for Goff and probably LaPorta, Montgomery and Gibbs. Did everything they could to get them there.
I don't feel sorry for Campbell. The great coaches adjust for the playoffs. You can't gamble like that when your whole season is on the line. Yeah, FG isn't a given, but its the momentum shift to consider. FG in the 1st half and there change the complexion of the game completely.

Lions were trying to emulate the Chiefs, and in the end they just emulated their receivers.

I think we all noticed this. Is he playing injured? Because the hustle isn't there. I don't even know if they are gonna make him an offer in the offseason. He's that bad out there.

I feel bad for the Lions, but their problems were self-inflicted. I think we're all in agreement Dan Campbell should've gone for the tie when they were down 3 instead of going for it on 4th down. His aggressiveness burned them.

It's ok sometimes to kick a FG. Campbell needs to find a little balance in being aggressive yet being smart.

I kept telling my friends this week never bet against Mahomes.

Preach. I don't know if they'll make it back there next year, everybody is gonna be gunning for them. But it was a good learning experience for Campbell and the team. I generally prefer being aggressive but you gotta be smart too.

Re: Conference Championships - Around the NFL

Todd Monken called an awful game. 16 total rushes versus the a below average run defense. He played right into KCs strengths. Gus Edwards getting three touches should be grounds for being hung in effigy.

Fuck Campbell and Reynolds. Won't even be watching the Super Bowl this year. I don't want either of the 2 teams to win. Football season is over until the real Super Bowl, the 2024 NFL Draft.
