2 point attempt fails, we loss. At 3-8, we had nothing to lose by going for 2. Draft position secured.

Good pass Mariota. You didn't see the guy right in front of you. It looks like you were intentionally trying to hit him in the face.

Hell of a game. I'm happy how the team rallied and played hard. This defense looks entirely different with Quinn calling the shots.

Denver wins almost every game by 3 points or less. There are 3 teams drafting ahead of us that took them to the limit too.

Denver likely only wins one game in the playoffs and then gets bounced.

Was saying it more because there are no moral victories here. It is how they play. Amazing defense and doing just enough on offense.

We've lost 7? in a row now, money is way too valuable to be spending on going out and supporting the team.

My main gripe is I'm sick of having to watch them on national tv, fucking game ended at midnight and my first alarm is at 3:45 for work. Put us back on the 1 pm game you fucking ghouls. Idc if Jayden drops 50 when he comes back, get us the fuck off national tv.

Not surprised at the denver fans.. Wsh sucks lets be real and no JD5 to keep it exciting.

It was nice having 17 back tho

Re: Denver Week

It was definitely better than I imagined. While we did give up 27 points, the defense was better. Any of you guys who doubted McLaurin, he has shown what he can do for us - we literally have no offense playmakers outside of him. Burks have shown flashes in the last 2 games, I would love to see how he plays with JD.

Mariota wasn't perfect, if he hadn't thrown that bonehead interception, I think we would have won that game. But he did well against NFL's best defense (or at least top 2).

I'd also keep Debo, he has been solid all season. JD5 Back next week from what is being rumored so at least the last part of the schedule will be something to watch

Re: Denver Week

This team just has so many needs. Outside of QB every single position is on the table in the first round.

The invisible ghost Sinnott, I saw him totally whiff on a block on a WR screen. lol. Otherwise he is just a total non factor. At least they came out and played hard.

Another thing is I am just so sick of NFL refs. They ruin the games. The majority of them fucking at their jobs. That missed tripping call was unacceptable. That is a massive swing in field position. It's not just our games; the Dallas KC game was a flat-out joke. NFL refs simply do not know what PI is. They need to be full time employees. That is at least a start in the right direction.

Debo has been solid no doubt but this is where I disagree. He'll be a year older, he wants a new contract and you have numerous other needs. It's just not worth the risk for the money he'll want. You have to get younger at that position. I'd be against having two starting wr's that are in their 30's. I'd rather them spend money in FA on a pass rusher or two vs resigning Debo.

Re: Denver Week

Watched it today (1:15AM KO over here!).

Mariota played well except for the dumb INT (no idea at all where he was throwing that) and a couple of other bad throws. Clear indication why he's a backup but a good one.

Overall O was much better than most of our games this season, thought I do wonder if JD5 had been 100% this season how many more winning capable performances we'd have (setting aside the D would probably have lost those for us).

D was also improved and I think the last 2 games show both how good DQ is and how bad Whitt was. Concern is why it took so long for DQ to call it. Overall it helps show we still need Edge, LB and CB help, but they're playing more like a unit.

One the one hand, it's a heartbreaker to lose like that on one play. On the other, it's less painful knowing we're not going to the playoffs and playing well in defeat gives hope we can turn things around quickly. I'm totally against tanking (no true fan, player, coach or exec. should be in favour), but losing with heart effort is acceptable under the circumstances.

Oh and the officials didn't lose that game for us, or win it for Denver, but they need a long hard look at themselves. It really is about time the NFL employed them as professionals so they can be truly held accountable. Some of those calls were atrocious, and the obvious confusion on at least 3 occasions does not provide confidence. They we re the best they could get for SNF?

Hard to disagree with this. As much $$$ as is tied up in this game, this seems like it would be a problem that is fixable (or, at least, can be materially improved) and would enhance the overall product (not to mention lead to greater parity, as I am 100% convinced that certain teams get the benefit of the doubt too often -- and we're not one of them).

Bobby Wagner is a liability big time.. Its time to let him go and get a young MLB in the mix. We have zero pass rush as well. The fact that we were in that game shows me how great our coaching staff is.

Idk, Jets, Giants, and Raiders all went down to the wire with them too. They go down to the wire with everyone they play minus Cincy.

I’m not giving him an extension either.

I’d like to see Burks get a chance to develop and hit up free agency and/or the draft for WR help

Re: Denver Week

I see Magee starting next year, maybe our best LB, but does he start at MLB? Be interesting if Medrano and Kaho can up their game in the offseason and be starters. Could mean we don't miss Wagner and Luvu can concentrate on pass rush. I'm still inclined to draft an LB if they're BPA, but regardless I just don't think we should re-sign Wagner given he's only going to get slower. What he can bring in energy and leadership is going to get lost in athleticism.

Re: Denver Week

I actually like Deebo a lot, and think that if we can bring him back on a reasonable deal, we should. He adds a dimension to our offense that few guys can offer. Having said that, I am not convinced he's a strong #2 opposite McLaurin, and we definitely need that. And I'd like to see how McCaffrey develops next year and whether Burks can resurrect his career with us (that one-hander was a thing of beauty). It's hard to know what to make of Lane at this point -- he's obviously not done nearly enough to command playing time, but he's another guy that is pretty intriguing. I don't see Brown or Moore back next year. Would be great to find a #2 if none of the guys we have at the moment is able to rise to that level of production and let the others compete for the available spots.

If Deebo comes in cheap for a one year deal, yes. Thing is, think he will want a multiyear contract and will be asking for to much.

We need a young and speedy WR either in free agency or draft; that will be Terry's eventually replacement.

https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/intentional-grounding-call-against-commanders-was-an-error

Intentional grounding call against Commanders was an error

>>>During Washington’s final drive in the fourth quarter of Sunday night’s overtime loss to the Broncos, Commanders quarterback Marcus Mariota was penalized for intentional grounding on a first and 15 play from the Washington 46. NBC rules analyst Terry McAulay immediately disputed the call.

“This is absolutely not grounding,” McAulay said. “He throws it over the head of No. 17, who is outside the numbers. By rule, that is not intentional grounding.”

The play happened immediately after a questionable false start, which pushed the Commanders back to their own 36, facing second and 25.

McAulay’s interpretation is the correct one. Although it doesn’t appear in the official rulebook, the NFL’s collection of “Approved Rulings” specifically addresses the situation.

The language appears in A.R. 8.83. The title of the approved ruling is “Not Intentional Grounding— Receiver Outside the Numbers.”

Here’s what it says: “First-and-10 on B40. QBA1 is about to be tackled in the pocket by B1 at the B48 when he throws the ball out of bounds at the B30. The ball sails over the head of eligible receiver A3, who is between the numbers and the sideline. Ruling: Second-and-10 on B40. No intentional grounding. If A3 was inside the numbers, it would be intentional grounding.”

It’s a exception to the grounding rule, no different than the one that allows a quarterback to get outside the pocket and throw past the line of scrimmage, even if the pass isn’t thrown not in the direction of or it doesn’t land in the vicinity of an eligible receiver.

While the Commanders eventually converted, keeping their game-tying field-goal drive alive, they shouldn’t have had to gain the yardage or to burn the time needed to do it. They would have had more time to win the game in regulation, with a touchdown.<<<

When is the NFL going to get serious about getting calls right? They have the capability just fucking do it already. So tired of seeing total bullshit calls influence games.

Re: Denver Week

I don't subscribe to the view there's a conspiracy or even just favouritism, and a lot of he time teams are heavily penalised mainly because they lack discipline, and likewise officials are human and just miss stuff.

Having said that, there were at least 4 egregious errors (anyone pick up on the screw up on the OT coin toss), and on top of that the smirk from Land Clark when we elected to kick was a WTF moment. This guys crew need a talking too.

They get paid enough for a part time job to be better. It's time they were full time officials and part time whaever else they do.
