We're still one of only 6 countries in the world where it is legal to abort a healthy fetus from a healthy mother at anytime during pregnancy. Most of the 189 other countries aren't Christian, so the desire to regulate abortion is not strictly a Christian thing. The Supreme Court made the right decision. Even Ginsburg said Roe was a poorly decided case (that should have been a strong hint to Dems that they needed to pass legislation if they wanted to keep what Roe allowed (even as reprehensible as it was) through out the entire country).

How about this deal? Congress passes a bill that allows for abortions up to 15 weeks, but after 15 weeks 2-3 Drs have to sign off on an abortion affirming that it was to save the life of the mother. Essentially 98% of pre Dobbs abortions would be legal and less than 2% would come under strict regulation. That would put us in-line with what is acceptable in most of the rest of the world.

Yes, that seems like a reasonable proposal to balancing when does the persons personal medical choices become something more than their own personal medical choices.

How about the justices on the SC dont let their personal religious convictions effect their legal rulings? They said Roe is "super precedent", conservatives laughed and assured us roe wouldnt be overturned and in less than 2 years .. Roe is overturned based not on constitutional or legal interpretation but 6 justices personal religious beliefs.

Ive never been more down on my country. I stand up in bars and restaurants when the national anthem is played on tv for sports games, i used to fly and american flag out front of my house, have an american flag car sticker.

Now .. fuck America. Fuck the religious conservatives and fuck anyone who tries to do "whataboutism" or "both sides ism"

Fuck america .. I dont think I stand for the national anthem any time soon

Things getting testy in Texas!

https://news.yahoo.com/texas-voters-don-t-democrats-100000190.html

Texas voters: You don’t have to like Democrats, but you do have to vote Republicans out

Since Gov. Greg Abbott took office, my property taxes have nearly tripled. His administration wastes billions on ineffective border initiatives and turns away billions for Medicaid expansion. Through our property taxes, urban homeowners bear the cost of providing health care to the 18% or so of Texans who don’t have insurance. Independents and reasonable Republicans: You don’t have to be a Democrat. You don’t have to like Democrats. But you must vote for Democrats this fall to rid Texas of Greg Abbott and his wrecking crew. They’ve run Texas for 22 years, and they’ve run it right into the ground.

Don't believe Trump and the GOP: Biden and the Democrats are winning
The fight for Democrats to maintain control of the Senate isn't lost yet.

The Senate?? The GOP has already thrown that away with their bad Trump endorsed candidates. GOP had decent shots at Dem held seats in AZ, GA, NH and NV, but threw away any chance in AZ, GA which should have been a lock is leaning toward Warnock, NH and NEV are still tossups. But the real problem is holding Republican seats in OH, PA and WI. So at this point I expect the Dems to pick up 1-3 seats.

The house however will go GOP.

What about ships sunk while at war, pretty sure they had weapons that were unexploded when they went down.

Ships is another good question. Even ones without bombs. Just the total number.

The bottom of all the oceans would be an amazing thing to see. And likely also quite depressing.

Good read for my liberal friends here.

Loved the intro - Trump wanted his military parade to be free of crippled soldiers - because he thought it would make him look bad. That guy definitely had his finger on the pulse. I can't believe the generals didn't honor his request! I don't like seeing cripples either, they gross me out. I prefer soldiers who didn't die or lose a body part in battle.

Not only for Liberals. I sent that to my Trumpy (who denies he's Trumpy) co-worker today. We've known and discussed about much of the stuff for years. They didn't even bring up the comment about soldiers being suckers in this article. This is the primary reason I could never vote for Trump and will vote for Biden again, even as bad as he is as a President, if Trump is his opponent.

I'd be interested in Chico's comments on this article.

Agreed. I don't think it's just for Liberals. It's probably a decent read for anyone who may fall outside the Trump 'cult-like' circle.

I really liked Mattis...

The military - Generals in particular - were put in impossible situations during his Presidency, but overall I think they handled it the best they could...as you would expect most Generals to do.

Biden shakes Schumer’s hand, ‘immediately forgets’ and waits for another…at the Chips bill signing.
