Re: Redskins vs Cowboys Gameday Thread
Thank you very much to the Skins coaching staff for us haivng to listen to a-hole Dall-ass fans until f-ing Nov. 20th. EDIT: (see post 1198)
No damn excuse for piss-poor playcalling, I can understand physical mistakes or getting beaten (the other guys get paid too). But situational playcalling is totally in the coaches control and it was f-ing horrendous tonight on offense. Haslett screwed the pooch on the most important play of the night. |
Re: Redskins vs Cowboys Gameday Thread
Worst call despite it all was that all out blitz on 3rd and 21.
Yup. The way I see it is that Kyle wasn't on his game that last half. The offense was moving the ball for a few first downs and then stalling. I get it. But the defense is playing pretty damn strong for four quarters. Don't put Hall in a position where he's going to have to lose to Dez, one on one. 3rd and 21- play coverage. |
Re: Redskins vs Cowboys Gameday Thread
for all that penalty and errors by the cowgirls, we should have taken advantage and win. our offense is a work in progress

The game was already lost and it was an F U to Snyder. |
Re: Redskins vs Cowboys Gameday Thread
An all-time bonehead call. Cover zero blitz with D. Hall 1-on-1 on 3rd and forever. And then they didn't even heat up Romo because it looked like at least half the guys were anticipating screen. I actually don't think you could have made a worse call there. By the numbers, that was probably the absolute worst possible call you could have made.
This is where the Skins lost the game D. Hall's Face mask was icing on the cake, but you put the CBs on an island like that what do you expect? |

Re: Redskins vs Cowboys Gameday Thread
Offense let us down tonight folks, that was a Horrible game for us and REALLY bad loss.

Re: Redskins vs Cowboys Gameday Thread
I just hope that the sick, like I'm gonna puke feeling goes away soon, wasn't even drinking and I'm 40 years old. This is every bit as bad as when I was kid and they would loose. Can't begin to go over all of the boneheaded plays. As a hokie alumnus, I wish D-hall would just keep his mouth shout.

Re: Redskins vs Cowboys Gameday Thread
Rex played bad all night IMO, Throws were off and the Fumbles kill him always
|
Re: Redskins vs Cowboys Gameday Thread
It's time to think about putting Beck in. His ability to run is needed as Rex can't run worth shit and ends up coughing the ball up.
FFS... Shut up man... You're an idiot lol I was pulling for Beck in the offseason as everyone knows, but you're an idiot lol |

We should've definitely won that game. There were a few bad calls, especially that 15 yd at the end. Regardless I'm not worried about the cowgirls. I see no serious threats except the refs.
I second this. We need a franchise quarterback. Not a backup trying to be a starter.
I still maintain grossman never was our qb of the future. We will have a rookie franchise qb next season. |
Re: Redskins vs Cowboys Gameday Thread
We had no business losing this game....
|
Re: Redskins vs Cowboys Gameday Thread
We had so many chances to win that game it's embarassing.

Re: Redskins vs Cowboys Gameday Thread
The handwriting was on the wall when we couldn't punch it in from the get go, then the offense sputtered. You just knew all it would take was Dallas getting the ball last. Note to Skins players. Please keep your mouth shut for Dallas week. Walk the walk before you talk the talk. Why were any of you that surprised by Grossman sucking? And that is what really gets me! The media figured this was going to happen and the 2-0 start got most of us on the Kool Aid again. Rex is going to have good games then some stinkers. I sure hope we draft a solid QB next year. Actually we need 2. Maybe keep Rex to help the rooks along. Beck has no future as a starting NFL QB, let him go.
|
Re: Redskins vs Cowboys Gameday Thread
Oh well.. It's not like we were going 16-0 this year.. Let's bounce back with a win next week...

Re: Redskins vs Cowboys Gameday Thread
Probably wouldnt have all out blitzed that third time when romo scrambled and threw it to dez but its all hinesight... Rex needs to be smarter he knew spencer was coming.
Defense gets an A... rex not so much. rest of the offense was good. |
Re: Redskins vs Cowboys Gameday Thread
The inevitable late defense collapse. Depth.. Depth.. Depth.. We need to use it.
|
Re: Redskins vs Cowboys Gameday Thread
Why is it Grossmans fault? If the OL would give him better protection or had receivers ran routes that would give Grossman a man to throw to when under pressure.
On the last drive you could blame Banks for not simply downing the ball in the endzone to give them a few more seconds plus the ball at the 20. Blame Brown for false starting. Blame K.Shanahan for not using more roll outs to give Grossman more time. Not calling more screen plays to beat the rush. I don't think I saw one slant. which would have gotten the ball beyond the LB's and DL. But instead it's easier to blame Grossman. Beck would not have been better. McNabb would have walked up to the LOS everytime eating up the clock or he would have wanted to huddle. I'm not saying Grossman is Dan Morino I'm just saying he's our best option right now. This game was a piss poor game plan from the start. They should have used screens everytime the defense rushed to slow them down and or used slants to Moss. Did they ever say what happened to Armstrong? after the half he came out with out pads and stayed out of the game. |

Re: Redskins vs Cowboys Gameday Thread
I'm not going to rip anyone for this loss. I think all out blitz on 3rd and 21 is generally not a smart thing to do, but that doesn't mean it was a horrible idea against the opponent. Gotta get a hit on the QB.
The offense was thoroughly dominated tonight, but its not any one person's fault. Rob Ryan called a really good game. Trent Williams played really well. Jammal Brown and Chris Chester, not so much. Fred Davis was quiet. Jabar Gaffney had some mental errors. We lost our deep threat to injury in the first quarter. A rookie kicker hit six FGs. Our MVP (Most Valuable Punter) cold dropped a snap. Dallas' offense kept us in the game in the second half with a litany of mistakes, but for the most part, they came out at half and dominated us on both sides of the football. Again, it's not any one persons fault. Based on this game, I think we know what kind of team we are. At full health, we're a decent team. We can hang with the Cowboys, and perhaps any other team on our schedule minus the Patriots. If we play .500 ball from here on out, that's 9-7. |
Re: Redskins vs Cowboys Gameday Thread
O-line has to get called out on this one -- they couldn't open up a running lane for jack sh*t.
You lose.
Sent from my Xoom using Tapatalk
Thanks for the memo. Good thing you didn't waste any time showing up to make that important declaration. |
Re: Redskins vs Cowboys Gameday Thread
another key stat: dallas fumbled 7 times, we recovered 1. 1 out of 7.
|
Re: Redskins vs Cowboys Gameday Thread
I have never seen a game where a team had 4 bad snaps and recovered everyone of them. Plus, a fumble where the guy is tackled and has no clue where the ball is but falls directly on top of it.
|
Re: Redskins vs Cowboys Gameday Thread
that hurts...only 2 & 1, but yet again Skins fail on the Big Stage. honestly can't believe that retarded blitz or giving up on the run, but hey at least Romo, can still smile like a jackass!
The inevitable late defense collapse. Depth.. Depth.. Depth.. We need to use it.
I don't think it was a collapse as much as it was the play call. |
Re: Redskins vs Cowboys Gameday Thread
We are a QB from being a good football team, hopefully Shanny can get us one next offseason.
|
Re: Redskins vs Cowboys Gameday Thread
Apparently outside Santana, we have no other WRs.

Nah, more like the coordinator putting DHall in a ****ing cover-0 for the SECOND WEEK IN A ROW. |
Re: Redskins vs Cowboys Gameday Thread
3rd and 21 blitz is just horrible.
|
Re: Redskins vs Cowboys Gameday Thread
St. Louis is hungry for a win. Their not gonna be easy. This game put us into a reality check. Luckily we get to play them again. It will be at home. But they'll have Miles Austin back, and he, unlike those other receivers knows what he's doing out there.
I think both teams can agree that this was a boring game. Way too many field goals. |

I'm also still concerned about the offensive line. Jamal Brown was pretty stinky all game. Also, why the hell didn't we draft a QB this past draft season again? |

That's huge |
Re: Redskins vs Cowboys Gameday Thread
This game came down to about three plays.
The muffed field goal, the 3rd and 21, and Rex' fumble at the end. The better team didn't win tonight. As bitter as this lost was, there are a lot of positives to take away from this game. |

I noticed Terrance Austin and Grossman weren't on the same page. Yet another reason preseason and regular season are two completely different seasons. |
Re: Redskins vs Cowboys Gameday Thread
Somebody needs to teach Rex to throw the ball away when he is running for his life. He might have the worst acceleration I’ve ever seen out of a professional athlete. He felt the pressure. He just didn’t do anything about it. Its like he accepted the fact that he was about to lose the game and couldn’t consider any other options. He had two more downs…THROW THE BALL AWAY. At worst, take the freaking sack.
