Minkah Fitzpatrick and Jalen Ramsey are both available, we are short on DB help. Could this be the trade that Trent is involved in?

Re: Trent Williams holding out for new deal
[quote=calia;1230471]Ok. We keep Trent who apologizes and plays like he has to make amends to the team, and to AP in particular. He mauls defenders for the rest of the season. Ramsey and Fitzpatrick are so taken by his selflessness that they decide they want to play here and for the new DC Tomsula. They somehow convince their respective teams to do a straight up trade - Moses for Ramsey (Penn slides to RT) and Colt for Fitzpatrick.
Snyder sells the team to Jon Bon Jovi, and he immediately does a deal with DC to build New RFK with bleachers designed to bounce and a promotion for cheap tix for DC, MD, and VA residents - a promotion that magically rescinds if you are caught wearing anything that smacks of Eagles, Cowboys, or Giants colors. Jay decides he was, indeed, over his head and steps back to OC, giving the reins to O’Connell who becomes the east coast equivalent of McVay. We rout the Patriots in the Super Bowl. How’s that? Get a first rounder for TW and move on.
Notice to those saying to “hold the line with TW”. Scherff has pulled out of contract talks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

As he should be. We just need a little more patient before Bruce takes a desperate contender to the cleaners in a trade for Trent. We'll get more than just a first rounder. |

I’d trade Norman for Ramsey straight up, and Trent to Miami for a 1st and Fitzpatrick. Miami will be looking to replace the tackle they just lost in the trade to the Texans. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

At this point trade the big baby
|
Re: Trent Williams holding out for new deal
Dolphins won't trade for TW they want youth. I'd at least talk to the Jags about TW for Ramsey. Then drop DRC and use the roster spot for depth from FA. See if we can find a diamond RT in the rough?

Re: Trent Williams holding out for new deal
Bruce will fuck this up, like he fucked up the Cousins situation. Both high profile, valuable players...and will get peanuts for both.
Kyle Shanny would have given a 1st and def more for Cousins...but because Snyder and Bruce hated Kyle, they wouldn't work with him. Complete shit show and how not to run a front office...holding assets and getting junk status trades. |

Re: Trent Williams holding out for new deal
2 teams that would trade for Trent and make sense IMO
1: Cleveland - Needs a LT bad 2. NE - Would be unstoppable But the skins want multiple picks per the reports and nobody will do that, swallow pride and deal him for a 1 and move on |

Just heard Donald Penn with Doc Walker this morning. The guy sounds like a leader and a big help for Flowers and Christian.
Hopefully he can hold up against Khalil Mack. |

Word is out that Jags want 2 first round picks, and more for Ramsey.
Translation . . . Ramsey is staying in Jax. |

Re: Trent Williams holding out for new deal
Now the Chiefs are in need of a LT

Re: Trent Williams holding out for new deal
My problem with the idea of trading Williams to contender teams in need for LT is late draft picks. Contender teams are expected to have late 1st round pick, which equivalents to 2nd round picks and we all know Redskins's history with 2nd round picks.
Edit: I can see a workaround this issue - we could package Redskins's 1st round pick with late 1st round pick that we got for Williams, to move up and draft a top 2-3 LT player BUT this requires things that are out of Redskins' control to fall together. |

Id prefer 2 2nds anyway. Bigger roadblock I think is that Trent only has 1 more year on his current deal with a 2020 14.6M cap hit. I think it will require a "sign and trade" so the new team has a guarantee Trent is committed for reasonable value beyond 2020. Sign and trade seems impossible with a guy like Bruce doing the "communications". |

Re: Trent Williams holding out for new deal
at this point I don't care where he goes and I don't care about cap relief because our situation going into next year is very good, even with Albatross Smith contract. Norman, Reed, TW, and AP will all most like be gone...that's a lot of dough. Also, Kerrigan doesn't have a lot if any guaranteed money left next year either. Vernon davis and CT contract are up as well.
I really want Bruce gone now, because there will be a lot at stake personel wise this coming off season....lot of old players out and most likely a Coaching staff decision. BRUCE NEEDS TO GO BEFORE THESE DECISIONS ARE MADE. I want picks for Trent now |

Maybe higher. So trading TW to basically move up a spot or two or three seems silly to me. Get whatever you can for him before we get nothing. It doesn’t really freakin matter because until Burns and Smithers are gone we are doomed. Burns is never leaving, and Smithers is whoever the fuck he hires to do his bidding. Basically the Once proud franchise is extinct and there is nothing we can do but remember the good ole days. Fuck you Dan Snyder. You idiot. |
Trent Williams holding out for new deal
It seems like everyone is in denial. Lol. As long as Snyder is in charge there will never be real football minds here. Is it because he doesn’t want to be the mastermind? Is it because he has no idea who that might be? Is it because no sought after gm would ever work for him? Combination of all three most likely. We are a one step forward two steps back organization. Something happens- a pick, a free agent acquisition, a seemingly smart hire in the FO, and we all think holy shit FINALLY we are headed in the right direction and than its carnage two fold.
Free yourselves from the agony that is the worst owner in sports. Go fly kites on Sundays. Spend time with your families. Maybe fly kites with your families. Make your weeks whole again during football season. |

really? It seems like everyone is on the same page and have been for a long time. Perhaps we have degrees of just how bad it is but I think everyone knows we have one of the worst organizations in all of sports. |
