It was a very mild winter in the northeast, one would think that would have helped but NOOOOO, gas prices are climbing through the roof again.

My car is pretty good on gas and I have a pretty short work commute, I only have to fuel up every 7-10 days, but when it's starting to cost $25+ to fill the tank, that hurts.

F Bush too.
So you have a big F for Obama?

Up to $4.00 even for 87 octane here...$4.25ish for high octane.

COUGH...

This Washington Post poll demonstrates an interesting phenomenon. In 2006, 73 percent of Democrats believed the Bush administration could reduce gas prices. Today, just 33 percent of Democrats believe there is anything President Obama can do about them. That’s a 40 point swing. (To be sure some Republicans have also flip-flopped on this, but only by an 18 point swing.)

Obama doesn't set gas prices. Wall Street does.

Sure, you're absolutely right. Blocking the Keystone pipeline, banning off-shore drilling by Domestic companies after a foreign company had an accident and generally not allowing us to explore ANY of our own options like oil shale have no effect on gas prices.

Besides, it's YOUR fault. The President said so.

So our dependency of foreign oil is down and we are using more of our own self made energy...who is too blame. Its tough to nail down, but my personal belief is Wall Street and the Oil companys, they are in bed together. Guaranty the 5 major oil companies will be in the top 10 of highest profits of the year as well in the quarters. They always do..........what does that tell everybody?

I found it hard to swallow that the leader of arguably the most powerful nation on earth can have no affect on local gas prices.

Exactly; it is what it is.

What sucks is I will still fill my tank but I will just have to adjust my budget and normally that means taking dollars from my entertainment budget.

So I will have my gas and the gas kings will have their money but the local pizza shop I always get pizza from on Friday nights might be out my $12 a week, those are the guys that get really burned.

While it totally pisses me off, I can't imagine actually changing my driving habits until it gets something like 8-9 dollars a gallon (God forbid). I mean when I break it down, I miss the days of a $10 fill-up, but I don't do enough driving to get upset when I pay an extra $10-$20 per fill-up.

It sucks, and I hate it, but I think a lot of us are creatures of habit and might not be willing to change.

I have changed my habits already, I work at least once per week from home and i'm going to start doing that twice a week if the prices get up to the level of the projections. It's not even the money so much as the idea of only using what you need. Got rid of my truck, bought a much more fuel efficient car... every little bit helps til they figure out how to make H work.

Also, having lived in western europe for most of my 20's, let me just say that we still have no ****ing clue what high gas prices truly are.

What the hell are you talking about, missing the days of a 10 dollar fill up? You're 20 years old lol. I'm 3 years older than you and I've never been able to fill up my car on 10 bucks ever. You're slipping, PWNED. :D
